2 Days Ham Radio Camping in Natural Shelter - I did it AGAIN!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 вер 2024
- I went into the woods to a windy overnighter with my radio, made a natural shelter using natural materials.
I set up a Superantenna MP1 antenna and Yaesu FT-891 radio, but...
...I did it again!
I brought the wrong battery, OMG.
After two QSOs, bam! Every time I pressed PTT, the radio turned off...
So I just enjoyed the food and the nature.
Sorry guys!

You have captured what I aim to do... merging my hobbies. This is a great looking setup. You are clearly a skilled bush crafter. The saying is true: the more you know, the less you have to carry. Thanks for taking us along on your journey. 73. AA4K
Thanks mate! 👍🏻🔥
I like how clean cut the ends of the branches are. That must have been a really sharp saw blade on that power saw.
Bahco laplander, Google it. Thanks
I like your style 😎
Great shelter and Yeasu!
Well done, Dom. It reminds me of similar trips I used to make into the mountains some 40 years ago, when I was a young man like you. I used a HW-7 with about 3 watts on CW. 73.
First time watching your video, nice work. Tuff as a superhero 😀
Thanks for watching! 😀
Very fun there Dom! My ma tells me there are Croation people in Ironwood MI. Her old home town. Rackavich" ect..See you on another adventure!!73

2 of my favourite hobbies. Bushcraft and currently studying for my Basic ham radio license in Canada. Awesome and inspirational. I want to eventually set up a back pack rig for camping/ bushcraft in the future as well. Thank you.

Very nice!
Thanks!
Excellent 👍👍👍
Thanks! 😀
Seriously a teeny tiny little vertical when you have all those trees around you and spent all that effort on the shelter? Wire is cheap man, you could've easily gone full dipole for the 80 meter band there.
Sorry I couldn't catch your call sign. 9o3...v..d....Did her that you were in Southern Croatia.
9A3GVD, nice to meet you 😀
Very healthy meal. What do you do if you can’t find the rocks? Hope to work you one day de n4mqu
Lots of rocks in my area. In another environment, there are so many options. You can cook, on the ground, underground, it is only important to have a fire. Hope to se ya down the log! 73
Congratulations, great work... 73 de 9A3CY ;)
Thanks! Hvala 73 de 9A3GVD 😉
How long is your RG58 cable to run the MP1 Super Antenna ?
Oh sorry, i missed this comment!
I use Messi&Paoloni Hyperflex 5 coax, 10m long.
@@RadioAdventurer It got Marconi RF Gain Powder inside that makes your signal 15dB louder than using regular ECO Flex or aircell cable for 1.-€ less per meter. HI HI.
I like what you doing, Dom. You are a genius guy keep up the Good Work & thx for the Info
Why all that hassle doing all that. You are less than 200 yards from a home depot. Just go get a tarp.
