Tony Leung recently picked up his sixth best actor award at the Hong Kong Film Awards for ‘The Goldfinger’, which reunites him with co-star Andy Lau in 20 years after the 'Infernal Affairs' trilogy rocked Hong Kong Cinema. Even Martin Scorsese had to remake it with 'The Departed'. Expectations are obviously high. I really wanted to like this film. All the ingredients that are here for a potentially excellent film: Star power. Using a popular genre of HK ICAC and cop dramas as a springboard for real-life events. But even in the hands of a competent filmmaker, somehow nothing sticks the landing.
