Instrumentally, it's awesome how Beni's playing frames the entire song while still allowing the others to shine--especially Machiya's solo. Wagakki Band could teach a master's class on how to write and outline songs.
it's little sad song but prositutes in EDO era have high states in socity,so this song is not so negative for japanese and people who know japanese historical culture^_^

I think that contrast was the point. People tend to smile through hardships, specially us women. We are expected to act happy and welcoming, and that was specially true during the time period where the story/song is taking place.
