Those purple flowers in background are probably 'fire weed' or as first nations people call them 'white man's foot' due to their appearance in north america from migration into area of early settlers along the routes and settlements of same

Love how you did the meadow of flowers especially how you did the grass…I’m a newbie at this at 65 years young I thought I give painting a try.
My inspiration is a huge fat lady on a field picking flowers. The painting belongs to my sister in-law however since knows I much I love this painting she included in her wil should she pass this painting is my inheritance from her…only one problem with this, although I’m touched by her generosity, let’s face it we’re both cloying and age and I might never get to have the painting 😂 I had her take a picture of it see if I could duplicate, although I believe I’m doing pretty good for someone who’s never done this before…the color combinations are so incredibly difficult to achieve.
Thanks you for putting out this tutorial I appreciate it.
I have watched so many videos, I especially like that you mentioned every color your mixing as you’re moving along!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

How do you prepare your canvas

I only apply a little water before hand to wet the canvas, it helps blend the acrylics. I purchase my canvases double and triple primed. You can apply 1-2 coats of acrylic gesso as well if you’re working on a lower grade canvas. Let dry completely and lightly sand in between coats
