Good video. Presenter was really good with the instructions and made it easy enough to follow as well as showing properly how to use the crimping tool correctly. Good job👍

Nice... I am looking for the crimping tools and probably the right wires connectors and terminals. Can you give me some idea which one is best suited for general purpose home needs? Like for 329, 729, 644 type is electric wires... thanks.
My crimp tool has option for insulated and non insulated connectors. The shape of the crimp tool is different. If the non-insulated shape works great on non-insulated connectors why change the crimp shape for insulated ones, do they both provide equally good mechanical grip on the crushed wires? Also, crimp connectors with soft heat shrink can be crimped as non-insulated?
Crimping styles and methods are very much based on the applications and the current loads through that joint or across the terminal. if one is working strictly on a low voltage application, where there is no water or liquid penetration the crimping methods are such that the joint is defined by a solid connection and conductors are firmly attached.

I prefer to tin the stripped part of the wire with solder, then crimp, and even solder where the wire sticks out the end of the lug to the lug itself. A bit of silicone sealant in the end of the lug where the wire goes in is not a bad idea either. Both the solder and the sealant protects the crimped part of the wire from any corrosion.
That's a great point about corrosion displacement. This process is also very effective for your car , bike, boat, anything with wiring in it that is outside all the time.
Try that on a job requiring dozens or hundreds of connections on a deadline and you'll be unemployed in the blink of an eye -- fine for a few connection that have to survive a particularly hostile environment, but for most applications? Total overkill!
@@editorjuno thanks for your opinion Bruce. No doubt a timely process. Perhaps a bit of common sense might just do the worst applications in a vehicle or machine. HEAT is electrical and electronics worst enemy. So maybe just do ground wiring and high current cables, like battery cables, charge circuit wiring, etc.
@@editorjuno I did work for a company that built power control equipment for subways and light/heavy electric powered trains. We also built portable power substations on flat bed semi-trailers to fill in while a substation was being serviced. We had special lugs designed for those being exposed to the elements. Anything else was installed in sealed compartments.

That yellow handled crimper should be against the law. In my very early years as a mechanic, the crimps by that tool gave me so many issues i finally gave them away and found a better tool. One that punches a part of the connector into the wire. No problems ever after that. I mentally scream everytime i see a pair of those terrible crimpers.
Yup. My go-to crimper was an appropriately sized vise grip. Lock it down = crimped! Now I use pro quality crimpers, they're just as good but a LOT neater looking!
The yellow crimp-tool shown is a shade-tree mechanic's that I'd only use for emergency, as a get-by measure until the joint can be made with the proper tool. Hand-squeeze jobs like that cannot guarantee a proper crimp if you have weak hands or arthritis. The correct tool is a multiplier, ( shown at 0:33 ), that always gives the same pressure. R/B/Y ratchet crimp tools for everyday use are quite cheap from auction sites, and well worth buying to do the job properly.

I heard in the skreets the Bloodz are at odds with the Crimps.
That is WHY it's a color-coded connection!
Lmao
And the KKK are nothing more than a stutter........ 😅
Crimpin' ain't easy.....
SO FUNNY ROFLMAO
But somebody gotta do it
It actually is
Clear, well paced, under 3 minutes. Good video!
There's something very captivating about this tutorial.
I thought so too, although I cannot put my finger on either reasons...
It should be noted than an uninsulated crimpable connector requires a different crimping tool than its insulated counterpart.
Great video, the crimping wasn't bad too
Good video. Presenter was really good with the instructions and made it easy enough to follow as well as showing properly how to use the crimping tool correctly. Good job👍
Thanks for the video. I can do the crimp all day
I didn't know that crimping could be this beautiful.

I like to use crimp connectors on my car. I’m gonna make a show called “Crimp My Ride”
I really enjoyed watching this instructional video. please keep making more videos related to mechanic learning.
Nice tools
That was an enjoyable crimping video
Thank you. Great video. Many things I did not know.
Your welcome, glad you liked it.
But, if it's a long crimp-do you start with the proximal or distal end??
Distal
make sure you put it in the proper hole. And don't forget to run your fingers around the end to make it more firm
😂😂😂😂
We'll, it's important to follow instructions.
How do you get 2 14gauge wires into a yellow plug female plug? Do I need to melt them together?
She said strip, bare, finger, insert, barrel, tool, squeeze, force and head. Great video!
Wow, you're very kinky and erotic. I like it.
Really good video, helpful, thanks
Very nice video! Thank you for the information.

Do you think she gives one on one tutorials?
When I want to connect 2 wire I use a stapler. Is that wrong? 🤔
Not if you use duct tape also. Lol

I think I accidentally bought the wrong size connector for my wires, will it still work?
If the wires are too small, then just strip more insulation off and fold the wire to make it thicker.
If it’s too big, cut off a few strands of the wire
thanks for sharing this video ❤️
Great thanks.
Great video, I would liked to have seen less crimping though
Why? Crimping is what the video is about.
Very clearly and we'll explained
I wonder if you can crimp two separate wires together vs soldering them

You shouldn't touch the bare wire with your hands. It leads to oxidation of the wire not to mention you could prick your fingers.

Yes you can, you moron

I find those straight crimping pliers to be junk. The locking jaw dedicated crimping pliers are 100% better

Too expensive if you're only crimping a couple of wires. Best to buy cheap ones
