I don't know why most people hate them. I LOVED the travelling arc of the early books and all the characters really made it work (BrambleClaw, CrowPaw, FeatherTail, ect) thats just me though. I thought the tribes were super cool and their developing relationships as they travelled new places was really cool to me, especially since we've been stuck in the forest territory for awhile now from the first arc.
I loved the traveling books because of the little cliffhangers at the ends of each chapter it made me more excited for the rest of the story Like when something would happen in the traveling group like meeting Midnight it would switch to the clan group
My opinion with travelling books is that they can either be written well, like in the Sun Trail, or written terribly, with too slow or too fast pacing. Most of the travelling books in the series were written relativly well, despite them being long and repetitive. Thanks for giving this a little more light.
I don't mind the travelling when it introduces something new; like Tigerheart having to ride a train. It's just that most of them follow the typical steps: Walk for a bit; Camp for the night; Argue over minor differences between the clans; Oh no, there's a dog. Climb a tree and wait for it's twoleg to drag it away; More Walking; More arguing; Cross a Thunderpath; Fight a species of animal that may or may not be found in Britain; The journey is over and we're best friends for life - except not really. We'll probably barely speak to each other after this.
I like that traveling books often group up characters from different Clans. Seeing them interact outside of that set of boundaries, getting to know each other beyond the "other clan, grrr", is always pretty nice =)
Personally I too like traveling books! Especially Graystripe's Vow. Atleast, as long as the journey actually has a good purpose that relates to the plot of the arc- Which also means I dislike quite a few of them- Maybe the majority of them- but I only read one book in TNP, so idk about that- I do hope that my traveling fanfiction won't get so much backlash ;-;
Ik this is an unpopular opinion but my second favorite series was the new prophecy, i loved all the characters im confused why it got so much hate; I also loved The Sun Trail, it is probably my favorite book of the main series
To me I really don't care for them. But I do have a favorite. I would consider Tallstar's revenge as a traveling book. I don't recall any books mentioning that he had met Jake (Aside from his book) and it's been a while since I've read Fire and Ice. (I don't have that book anymore)
I agree tallstars revenge is a traveling book and my favorite from what I've read. As for fire and ice I have it and the traveling only covers nine chapters of the book at best which is less than a third. It also brings windclan home which has a huge impact of the arc. Since windclan is important.
Personally, I've found that I've enjoyed the traveling books I've read so far a little more than the clan conflicts, mainly because the clan conflicts are so repetitive and traveling gives the characters something else to do. I also like adventure stories in general.
Those books you defined as traveling books... yeah they are kind of boring, but like New propechy, its good i like and its nice to see new places and cats and how different they are from the clans.
I don’t like traveling books much in any form, my squirrel brain needs something to be happening other than walkie talkies. I remember I tried to read The Owls of Ga’hoole and while the first book tries, I got very bored when I realized the second half is just traveling and had no interest in reading more of that series because of it (dw I read the lore, it sounds very interesting I just couldn’t get into the actual book). While Fire and Ice isn’t a traveling book I also got bored of that one and didn’t read more Warriors books; as a reader I just need more things to be happening and less talking, so traveling books definitely aren’t my thing. Even though I think it’s harsh I’d probably not buy traveling books either-
i don't like most traveling books. Im one of those people, TNP was boring for me, and i didn't like most of the characters. But, i did like a book like Thunder, but sky was another travelling book i disliked. guess it depends
Same! I liked feathertail and her death made me cry, but after that they started to bore me, it seemed like Feather’Tail and the tribe of running water made it interesting, then I got bored and basically just skimmed through the books and watched summaries on YT.
Ugh, I don't like traveling books at all. I only like the traveling in Tallstar's Revenge, since it was exciting and I overall love Jake as a character

I love traveling books and I don’t understand how people dislike them? But people have their own opinions.
Offtopic but I LOVE your art!!!! I've loved watching it improve and can't wait to see even more stuff from you

“Filler?” Traveling helps introduce new places, new characters, and like they just make great additions. I don’t understand this pointless hates.
I don’t mind travelling books
i was so disappointed that graystripe’s vow didn’t tie into the main arc more!! i was expecting more from it.
I hate traveling books. I want to read about Clan life!

I don’t mind the traveling, I just got tired of the tribe really fast hahaha.
I still dont really like them butttt they weren't that bad- some ppl were just dramatic lol
(this is unrealted but what gender is 4rcane 😅)
I actually like travelling books

Jake is the ultimate Chad. Had two wives and a boyfriend, his children are the most important in the series, and died via meteorite to the head.
Yeah, maybe the 2 wives thing is a bit weird, but everything else about him is good (:
