    While changing the diameter, will it suffice the demand of each household Because diameter is designed using the population of particular area?

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy  2 роки тому

      While changing the diameter make sure the demand is well maintained!
      By the way, the idea of changing diameter is to make sure that velocity, unit headloss, and pressure is maintained at the required range!
      So if that is the case automatic even the assigned demand will not be affected in a negative way because demand (discharge) will be supplied at the right velocity and unit head loss🙏

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy  2 роки тому +1

      I have done this tutorial a while ago but the idea is.. you can calculate the total demand and divide it by a total number of nodes then take the answer and assign it to the nodes of respective pipe/link.. (there is another way around but that is the simplest).

    I had a question, say we are using 2 tanks (placing one on the right and one on the left), both having the capacity of 300 cubic meters (total 600 m^3), but we want 400 m^3 to go into the top of the system that has multiple nodes(having its own demands) & links, and 200m^3 to go to the bottom of the system which also has multiple nodes(having its own demands) and links, so is there any way to do that, making the tanks equally contribute to the system rather one contributing more than the other?

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy  2 роки тому

      Ans 1: I think what you can do is to use FCV on the storage tanks and limit output flow as per your requirements! For example, if you want both tanks to contribute 5L/s then use FCV and set that value on each of them!
      Ans 2: From what I know storage tank supplies water as per assigned demands on nodes so maybe one storage tank supplies more water because it has more nodes assigned with more demands compared to the other?

    Why do we use Hazen Williams equation?

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy  4 місяці тому

      We use it because we want to estimate losses, or maybe it is simpler to use, but it is not a must to use Hazen Williams; depending on where you are living and what your project requires, you can even use Darcy Weisbach (which is hydraulically more accurate, of course).

    Hello sir one question can confused 🤔 me that how to select length of pipe . And second one is how to select diameter of pipe at different nodes .
    And third one is what is range of velocity and pressure head on node .
    Plz explain

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy  2 роки тому +1

      1. The length of pipe is determined by field survey/measurements
      2. Pipe diameter is determined by taking into account velocity, headlosses and even required pressure at a given node! NB: See design manual that is adopted in your region.
      3. For the most part required velocity ranges from 0.5 to 1.5m/s! But to get the required velocity and pressure and even headloss gradient please check the design manual that have been adopted in your country/region🙏

    A question sir, with a follow up, in doing single period analysis, what base demand do you input? Is it average day demand or the maximum day demand?

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy  3 роки тому +3

      Hello Yami! Welcome!
      For single period analysis or stead state analysis what you are supposed to use is MAXIMUM HOURLY DEMAND. But if you want to use extended period simulation then you first use average demand to run single period analysis after that you introduce peak hour factors (multipliers) to run extended period simulation!!...
      By the way for single-period analysis, you can watch this tutorial as well ua-cam.com/video/D_k92sTSu5w/v-deo.html!! I covered other important concepts that might help you!!
      Once again, welcome🙏

    • @rcane6842
      @rcane6842 Рік тому

      @@HydroinformaticsAcademyHi, I'd like to revive this comment.. Max. Hourly Demand is to be used for extended period simulation, correct? And to size the pipe correctly, we adjust the pipe diameter in relation to (1) velocity and (2) pressure, correct? Pipe headloss is reflected in velocity and pressure in a way, so I think it can be overlooked.
      My question is, since typically, we design the pipe velocity between 0.9m/s to 2.5m/s, is the design still justifiable that at AVERAGE hourly demand and MINIMUM hourly demand (aka off-peak hour), the velocity can be below 0.9m/s?
