Yes, totally normal (at least for Western people) when we find Mamamoo, to have a bias first thing...just be prepared for the other three to wreck the bias at some point. I am past that point. I got past that immediately because I am not one to normally play favorites (especially not about looks or other things that are completely out of somebody's control). So I am what fans call 'OT4' for Mamamoo because they are ALL my 'bias', which literally defeats the purpose of any bias, therefore NONE of them are biases. They are equals because each one is a separate Human Being and they are all GREAT at something different.
Most of them could be in the running to replace the Energizer Bunny. One is absolutely BRILLIANT at EVERYTHING she tries her hand at (at least for the first time) and she has THE BEST MEMORY of any K-Pop Idol. One is absolutely SAVAGE and can make the others laugh no matter what else is going on. One is a living Meme but she has also saved the life of another Idol outside of the group (and I will be forever grateful for that act because that other Idol is my Ult Bias in all of K-Pop; remember how I said I really try not to play favorites?).
I am from the Western Hemisphere but supposedly, none of the four members of Mamamoo really fit the 'Korean Beauty Standard'.
Hwasa is the youngest member and has been friends with the Second-youngest member, Wheein, since they were both in Middle School. Wheein is CUTE AF so I ALMOST don't get how people over there think that even she does NOT fit into the KBS (although apparently she is 'the closest' to fit out of the four members).
After thinking about it and reading and watching videos, this is what I came up with;
The KBS is BRUTALLY RIGID. That's why people start 'aging out' of the Korean Entertainment industry; apparently, after you hit just THIRTY years old, you are no longer useful in the industry. It's SO STUPID! I see nothing at all that is actually 'standard' about that tiny box which stars try to stuff themselves into (or allow others to stuff them into). They try SO HARD to stay in that box in order to try to stay on top of the game.
People have in fact committed suicide because things have gone so wrong, physically, mentally and emotionally, from trying SO HARD to stay in that box for any amount of time.
Since Hwasa never fit the KBS in the first place (like about 90% of the Korean population does not fit in it) and she was told that she does not fit by an adult when she was still a teenager, she decided to make her own standard and quit listening to anybody bout her looks.

If this was your reaction to I Love My Body then I really want to see you discover her other solos Twit, Maria, I'm a B or her collabs Don't and Lemon. She most definitely commands your attention when she is in her element doing what she does. Her gaze is deadly and she has the ability to make you feel every emotion of any song she sings. If you like retro she did a cover of Dionne Warwick's Walk on By that is amazing and you can find all her videos on her youtube page. I can't wait to see you discover more about her and Mamamoo.

Honestly not sure where to begin with Mamamoo, I heard the older stuff was incredible but I also heard it was ALL INCREDIBLE haha
@atypicalaimee it depends where you want to start. If you want pre debut, you have Don't be Happy, Peppermint Chocolate with music videos. Their debut song was Mr. Ambiguous, followed by Piano Man, both have videos. Then they have AAH OOP! which was collaboration. Then you have Um OH Ah Yeh, You're the best, New York, Décalcomanie, Yes I Am, Paint Me, Starry Night, Egotistic, Wind Flower. Gogobebe, Hip, Dingga, Aya, and Where Are we Now all have videos. They have promotional songs that's bomb, too. They have videos as well, which are Woo Hoo, Gleam,and Wanna Be Myself. They have a few joke songs, Taller Than You, Aze Gag with videos, and Sleep in the car(no video). But some of their best songs, in my opinion, are their b sides, which don't have videos(their are few that have live performance videos) which include Heeheehaheho, Baton Touch, I do me(Hwasa song that was supposed to be an apology to the CEO lol) Love Lane, I Miss You, Words Don't Come Easy(imo one of their sexiest songs and has a live performance video) Emotion, Moderato, Finally, Rude Boy, Spring Fever, Rainy Season, Midnight Summer Dream, Destiny, My Star.

You can also check out their killing voice where they sing a medley of their hits and to hear their live voices and their Immortal Songs medley. @@atypicalaimee she was doing a small set performance at a University Festival (this is important, its people over 19years old). In the performance she made a gesture that was less than 2 seconds. at this time she was also on a reality show with Idols who are older than her, and the show was BIG in ratings, "Dancing Queens on the Road". She nor the fans thought anything of it besides it being hot and being so her. A woman that's part of an extremely conservative religious group didn't like how much attention she was getting and deemed it "inappropriate" and that it was a "terrorist attack" to the people of the crowd because they had no choice but to view it. I will make a note here, the woman was NOT at the performance. She filed a complaint/law suit with the police. It caused a whole issue. Last couple days it has came out that Hwasa was summoned to the police station and was held there for questioning for over 3 hours.... 3 hours. So all this came out plus the woman's name, along with her comments, and the socials (X/Twitter) has been a mess. I hope I could clear some things up...
