Used gloriously in the movie Snatch, always loved this song.
A beautiful song by such an amazing band. Dave Greenfield wrote the music for this song and Hugh wrote those clever ambiguous

Loved this record when it was first released and at the time i was working as a delivery driver and when this one was played on the radio it was almost hypnotic in the way it relaxed you. Still sounds so good even after all these years have passed.

The rhythm at the beginning seems to be 13/4 (3 bars of 3 & 1 bar of 4), very nice!

Great review! You mentioned at the start those kids who sat down and analysed their vinyl? Yeah.... um... that was me. We didn't have a TV when this came out so I would just sit on my bedroom floor and play this stuff over and over. And probably read way too much into it all!

Must have been new years that Id recently bought la folie and took it to Timmy martins ( wetherspoons) first pub in muswell hill ( Mahlers) as they had a DJ there and he said you could bring your own records and we played golden brown from the album and many people came up and asked who it was because it was brilliant 👍
