She didn't know that she didn't want the baby until she thought she was pregnant again and became terrified she would have to watch her baby die again. She didn't lie to Owen, Owen knew about her past (at least somewhat). I'm not saying they handled it wrong but can people please lay off Amelia!? Her "unicorn" baby was some of the saddest episodes of private practice, up there with Violets attack, Charlottes attack, and Amelia drug addiction.
After watching all PP, especially 5x22 this has another meaning and it totally breaks my heart for her. I cant even imagine her pain and I cry like a baby. Also makes me love Omelia even more because just realized that Owen notices something is off with her when she says about the candle and then he is following her , haha. He actually loves her, right there. And April´s words "An unexpected gift when its needed most"- He is her gif, his love and that makes me so happy because she totally deserves that, especially now that she also lost her only brother and Penelope is around. She will need him even more now.
Crowen had always been my OTP, but since they won't end up together, I'm kind of rooting for him and Amelia. They have more in common than Owen had with Cristina. I think this relationship will be more stable, with more support and understanding... And I think from this episode, their relationship will evolve finally into something romantic, too. Because everyone knew about Amelia's drug addiction, but now Owen is the only one who knows about her baby (excluding Derek), so that's probably - and hopefully - the thing that will connect them the most in the upcoming episodes.
I agree with you on Crowen, I shipped them so hard, but it would've never worked out. I want him to move on, especially now that Cristina is gone, and I think Amelia would be an amazing choice. I wouldn't get my hopes too high though 'cause Shonda said about a month ago on twitter that she doesn't want to say anything about Owen and Amelia because nothing is settled yet and she could change her mind about them any day. But I ship them anyway, they are my new OTP :D

But this episode was some kind of a breaking point, with me accepting her, and her with Owen, too. And Shonda can say whatever she wants, I think she wouldn't spend so much time on those small bits Amelia and Owen shared together, if she didn't want for them some bigger storyline than just being co-workers who like and respect each other, who both have troubled past... And she wouldn't let them become closer and closer with Owen holding her hand and with her telling him this huge secret. Because Amelia seems she needs her own space, it took her a week to tell him about the drug problem she had, and she doesn't go around telling people about her personal life etc. They are friends, I think it's obvious, and there is nothing to stop them from becoming best friends. Buuut, since Owen is alone and she still lives with Meredith and Derek and other things going on, I think chances for this shipping are pretty high. :-)

I think that what Amelia doesn't say, Derek never mentions without her knowing it, and Meredith is a discrete person who doesn't dig into something which is not entirely her business. And I think that although Meredith and Amelia are friends, Amelia may not be so hurt like in the past, but she is not over the loss either and still didn't deal with it... Maybe she is even more like Owen -- he always fought his own demons by himself until Cristina came. But Amelia probably didn't have anyone like it in her life. Siblings can understand, but not as much as the partner that came through it all with her. If Meredith knew, she wouldn't keep silent, it would be included in her storyline already, so I would say everything is waiting for us... And while I'm writing this, I'm actually more excited about their relationship than I was before, because there are so many layers to it, and I just wanna see it all now... And I can't wait for all the fluff too. :D Owen deserves it, and Amelia also deserves some decent man... It would be so cool if they had a child together... But this is so far away it's not worth mentioning yet... Ohh, the waiting will kill me someday. (And I'm full of it, if you didn't get that. :D)
monikavec Yes she was. Private Practice ended after six seasons and the was in the last three I think. I've watched some episodes when they were on TV so I know a lot about what's going on, but I never really started watching it because most of the characters don't really interest me. They are all more grown-ups there and the fun thing for me on Grey's Anatomy was always that they all still had to learn so much, especially Meredith and co. But the more I see of Amelia the more I want to watch PP. :D But she has other love stories in PP and I'm scared that I will start shipping her with a guy on PP and it will ruin Owen/Amelia for me. :D They both want children so if they really end up together they will probably have some. :) So many people are saying that Owen will end up with Callie because they both want children, but I hate that idea. I love their friendship, but I don't want to see them in a relationship. Owen and Amelia's relationship is definitely going to be exciting! They will probably have some drama and it's going to be full of deep and dark stuff and they will probably help each other to get over their past and I will sit there and squeal because they will be too cute to handle :D I want to see their first kiss, now! :D

Owen knows that there was a baby that died. I think she meant there's no one that knew the details and the extent of how much it hurt her.
Amelia told Alex that her family and friends don't know. Then she said that she hadn't told Owen all of it, not that Owen doesn't know about it.
