    Hi...roller pigeon lovers...Can you please share with me any tips as to how to judge a roller pigeon, especially, if one cannot see their flight. I might have to buy them from some pigeon shop.
    Any vdeos, any tips, and any advice will be greatly appreciated.
    I am a new roller pigeon lover here in Pakistan where the trend for rollers is not really encouraging.
    Thanks.

      If you want tips on keeping and obtaining rollers than i'm your guy, but I don't fly competitions. I'm a racing pigeon guy. My Dad actually bought the first of the rollers for $5 each from a dog breeder for training our lab to retrieve doves. That's how I got in to pigeons. Until then I had thought of pigeons as flying rats. So mine are not even show, or competition quality. But if you have questions on keeping, and flying them I can give you my email.

    Question wats da deference between bald head rollers Nd bell neck rollers, Nd is ok to breed both of dem together?

    • @birdman2947
      @birdman2947  7 років тому

      Bald head = white head, Bell Neck= little crest on the back of it's head. Often times they are together on one bird. What you breed together is completely up to you, there are no real rules.

    The second roller U were holding is call a indigo bar. And the check ur holding is called a dun t check

    • @birdman2947
      @birdman2947  8 років тому

      I don't know much about indigo, but I thought that it was a whole nother gene entirely. I don't believe the T check is dun. Her flecking is much darker than that.

      That confused me a little, but am very glad you commented to tell me that. The cock in my profile pic wearing the bow tie is ash red with a bronze factor? I don't know what a bronze factor is. And my ash red spreads are not really ash red?

    • @birdman2947
      @birdman2947  8 років тому

      If the first pigeon I picked up (I call him Hersheys) is not spread i'm interested to know why you think that. I am quite certain he is spread. Its not perfect and he has some of his light grey feathers.

      I will have to look in to that. I don't actually know the heritage of those rollers.

      Why did you think the blue banded homer is an indigo? It is just a regular blue bar racing homer.

    it's alright of a stock bro, I fly 9 rollers at a time. Mine fly 3 hours.

    • @birdman2947
      @birdman2947  8 років тому +3

      You fly Rollers for 3 hours? I can do that when they're young but once they are rolling good I keep it short. If I fly them to long they stop rolling so its like whats the point? Do yours keep rolling that long? That would be amazing.

    • @Samio35
      @Samio35 8 років тому

      Dustin Everhart I honestly don't go for the roll, I'm trying to raise my flying time. Eventually I'll get into highflyers. I prefer long flying pigeons.

    • @birdman2947
      @birdman2947  8 років тому

      I have also been looking in to high flyers. I think I want a breed that I can dot fly, but I guess you want endurance?

    • @Samio35
      @Samio35 8 років тому

      yep, I'm kinda getting more into the flyers because my dad's friend has about 500 of them. His fly for 10 hours a day.

    What's the best way to home a small kit of 13 Roller Pigeons? They are all 2017 hatch.

    • @birdman2947
      @birdman2947  7 років тому +2

      What do you mean by that exactly, because I take it to mean you want them to fly home from another location, but rollers very rarely do that, more likely you will never see any of them again if you try it.

    Nice birds man , Short a few black and whites , they are mad in the head , where u based ?Ever deal with the west of england tumbers , high fliers , odd eyes etc ?

    • @birdman2947
      @birdman2947  8 років тому

      I'm in NC I had a few black and whites but, I gave one away and the others died, or were killed snake, hawk, etc... I can still make them by crossing the duns for black with the ash reds for lack of dilute though. In fact they will be a byproduct from doing that to make khaki colored rollers this spring. I have only ever had homers, B rollers, and magpie bell neck tumblers, and satinets. I would love to experiment with other breeds, especially high flyers, but finding some always seems to be an issue. I have thought about getting a pair of sky cutters, but i'm worried that the hawks would just eat them. I'm currently looking for a pair of parlor rollers though. What did you mean by mad in the heat?

    that's technically a red badge, there should be no white on the head for a baldhead... nice job Dustin
