Wow, I'm actually seeing this technique & concept for the very first time - like, that's exactly what I've had in mind for the past 2 years or so, intensely searching for martial arts / self-defence materials - being sure that there just must be some basics that are so fundamental, yet so profoundly powerful and universal, like the most important principles out there, and surely this is an outstanding example of just that ! :) It also reminds of that special punch they have in Systema which basically leaves the opponent/adversary completely out of breath - probably the mechanics/principles are similar, right? Like it's about this very peculiar way of using the limb, while maintaining being loose, correct? Thank you so much for sharing another unbelievably useful & helpful massive training & fighting idea!! I appreciate this help more than you can imagine, currently collecting any & all of those above mentioned basics wherever I can find some, thank you! 🙏

I was wondering about the other types of yiquan kicks. Are there any good videos on UA-cam demoing them ? I have seen an interesting low instep kick that looks like it is evading a sweep then attacking the opponents inside knee and raking down the shin and onto their foot.

Yiquan is concerned with whole body connection and power over 6 directions of force, every step is a potential kick. A lot of the stepping has influence from bagua zhang (kou bo/ bai bo) these can be sweeps, trips or kicks to the inside or outside.

Yi Quan Horse Leg Kick :) I taught more than a few Mauy Thai fighters to fear it in my early years.
