    Sounds great. Another brilliant Sequential design and Behringer did a nice job with it. If only they had provided dedicated outs for both VCOs instead of just mix and external in did not bypass noise; separate attenuator for it I guess. It would have been perfection to bring ring mod of the 2 oscillators back in plus noise...

    Nicely done. Thanks for the video! The Pro-One is a wicked synth. I sold my excellent condition Pro-One that I had since the late 80s for the Pro-3 for a couple of reasons: I hate not having patch memory and I was tired of taking care of it being it was 40 years old and it was constantly needing POT cleaning, new POTs, keyboard whisker cleaning, etc... AND Behringer came out with this value-priced replacement (sonically, similar, but with a scaled down interface). The original Pro-One did sound awesome (and better to my ear than this reissue) and sometimes I miss it, but my ultimate replacement at this point is the the MatrixBrute Noir. The Pro-3 is a great synth too, but I found it muddy and had to EQ it all the time, and I didn't care for menu-diving just to turn MIDI sync on/off and wasn't a huge fan of the knobs. For me, the MatrixBrute is so much more than the Pro-One and Pro-3, for that matter...No menu diving, programmed patches, 2 (TWO) parallel or series filters (both with 12 and 24 db slopes), a massive sequencer (albeit not as deep as the Pro-3, but easier), and all the controls are immediate like the Pro-One. The main things I miss from the Pro-One, at least mine, was that the filter went into the stratosphere and my intimate knowledge of the Pro-One after using it for over 25 years made it an in-zone instrument for me. And it was light...easy for gigging.

      @dalelaushman8749 Hey there thanks for the kind words. I have owned both Sequential Pro 2 and Pro 3 and enjoyed them both. They both had issues with pots and the sound itself.
      Pro 2 digital wasn't much fun but very creative. Pro3 sounded good, but also had some weird issues with raspy sound and that 3rd Osc was not great for my taste.
      I've never enjoyed the sound of any Arturia synth so far, but I would love to spend time alone with that Matrix Brute to really see my true feelings.
      This little Pro-1 will do nicely for now - I'm really enjoying it so far. I wish it were a Sequential but what can ya do?
      Thanks again, and thanks for the interesting comment re Pro1 history etc

      @@sonicneutronic I also was unsure of the matrixbrute sonically until I got it. It’s got a nice tone that isn’t muddy or weirdly balanced. But I do have about 3db of gain on 12k high shelf on the mixer channels to give it a bit more “fizz” but I think that might be my mid 50s hearing! Lol.

      @@dalelaushman8749 I'm only 49 so my ears are still 20/20 🤣
      I'm actually not looking at gear at all these days, and trying to focus on outputting some tones n images for the channel. Its hard though, there is lots to look at!

    Had both Pro-3 and Behringer pro-1. Pro-1 sounds absolutely fantastic. Very wild and rough... and the price is insane.
    The only thing I really-really wish Behringer could implement is velocity for filter and amp. Using velocity a lot for sequences and bass lines...

    • @sonicneutronic
      @sonicneutronic  Рік тому +2

      @rustboymusic hey thanks, and yes agreed - I almost like this simple Pro1 better than the Pro3 which did have a weird sound to it that could be worked around..... Velocity/aftertouch and midi cc implementation would all be great - plus slight better switch/selectors - but other than that for the money - its a gem!

    That Pro-1 sounds really good. It's a lot better than I expected. Nice job!
    Do the knobs parameters on the Pro-1 transmit and receive midi CC? If so, that would be SWEET, meaning you could automate your knob movements via midi by recording them into a sequencer.
    I know the Pro-800 is capable of this.

    • @sonicneutronic
      @sonicneutronic  Рік тому +1

      @kvmoore1 Hey thanks so much , yeah it does sound really good. Enjoying it a lot alongside the Prophet 5
      Knobs do not transmit midi cc sadly.

    • @kvmoore1
      @kvmoore1 Рік тому +1

      @sonicneutronic You're welcome. Yeah, although it would've been nice it it did transmit/receive midi CCs, I know I'm asking for the moon and the stars because the original Sequential Circuits Pro-1 came out at a time before midi was invented. So, it's all good. At least this Behringer Pro-1 is a module that can be sequenced externally via midi, which is great!!! Same goes for the Model D.

    • @sonicneutronic
      @sonicneutronic  Рік тому +1

      @@kvmoore1 Yeah totally - for the money you can't go wrong with a few choice modules. I wouldn't want to build an entire Behringer studio but ya know... it is what it is...

    • @kvmoore1

      @sonicneutronic Yes, absolutely. I already have a few Behringer pieces, mainly my VC340 (Roland VP330 clone), 2600, and Odyssey. I also have a TD-3 (303 clone) and RD-8 (808 clone). The only other pieces from Behringer I will probably add one day would be the Behringer Kobol whenever it comes out and maybe a Solina. I thought about the Pro-800 as well, but I'm not really gassing for it because I really don't need it since I have a sweet sounding Prophet 10, so I'll probably just pass on that one. It does sound great, though, especially for the price, which is CRAZY low.
      I don't want my setup to be all Behringer either, which it is not. I have other higher-end instruments as well from Roland, Arturia, Sequential, and Moog. If I add anything to my setup, it will most likely be either an Oberheim OB-X8, Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave, or maybe an actual Minimoog before any of the Behringers I just mentioned that I don't already own. So, a mixture of brands and types for different sound textures is a great thing.
      That Pro-1 you have will compliment your Prophet 5 nicely.

      @@kvmoore1 Yes absolutely - Its funny as I used to own the Prophet 6 and Pro 3 and now I have swapped them out for their older models the Prophet 5 and Pro one ha~!
      I love that Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave, but ultimately the sound itself is probably not for me..
      I almost feel like adding another Pro one and have a PRO2X2 setup here😁
      That Solina does sound great and so does the Toro actually......

    Affordable analog synthyness is hard to complain about coming Behringer, it's just not a bad thing. I own two B's, but I do feel a way about there being a P-600 clone out there now, but I think that's actually an honor having a synth that Behringer cloned lol. Sweet Jam on the Pro-1 my man! 👊🏾⚡

      @thekiddejeur I'm cool with picking up a few especially when low on dollars and needing something a little extra. Id be happier with the original P600 - forget that P800
      always wants the originals, but sometimes have to have the clone....... cheers!!

    Beefier than the Pro 3? I trust your knowledge but I'm also hoping you're not having an attack of the "new gear" syndrome. And didn't you actually have a regular original Pro 1? How does it fair against the original in your opinion?

    • @sonicneutronic

      I'm actually liking this Pro 1 sound better than the Pro 3 which I sold. The Pro 3 was great but it did have a particular character and was nowhere near as raw as this Pro One.
      I wish sequential would re-issue the Pro-one so I could have an original
