My kid chews food, only if she likes or if she is hungry. Or else she doesn't chew. She keep in mouth and swallows. She is 4 and half years old. Is there any exercise to make her chew?
Your child is not able to express verbally her basic needs due to which she developed this behavior as you mentioned. This behavior gets more motivated if you react and respond more whenever she bangs her head... Would strongly like to recommend consulting with a behavior therapist so that you will be counseled by a behavior therapist on how to deal with behaviors adapted in kids with autism. due to expressive communication frustration .....
Mam if a 12-13 yr old child keeps on touching everyone around him; then how can this behaviour be rectified. What kind of activities should be given to him ??
If its sensory then try tactile and proprioceptive activities Although the child age is 13 year, would suggest to have his detail sensory processing assessment to know his reactivity level.

Ma'am my child is around 18yrs old now. He was previously putting hand inside mouth till saliva come out but later it was fpund that the child had a tooth decay. That was ruled out later it was stopped. But nowdays he started put the hand inside mouth till saliva feel in the hand. Now he dont hve any tooth decay . So many proffessionals told me its a behavioiral issue. Recently a Slp told me it might be oro sensory issue. In that case which strategy above mentioned in the video to be used. Kindly provide me with ur suggestions.
Yes definitely it could be an oro sensory problem but as you mentioned his age is 18 years.. I would like to have the list of his interest in various kinds of textures , and his other concerns along with this problem so that proper oro sensory intervention could be designed for him
Hi, my kid lick some things like ball, his books , or some toys. He is 5 years old and started doing this thing from past 1 month. Never had these issues earlier. He has diagonised with mild sensory tactile issues and I am taking OT for this. But I want to know how can I reduce this linking thing at home. Can you pls help?
As your child has already been diagnosed with tactile issues, on that basis I would like to advise you to start tactile activities with more wet texture but before that give some pressure activities at home, mentioned in my previous videos.
Thank you for your comment! If your child is showing signs of chewing or biting non-food items, it may be a sensory-seeking behavior. To help manage this, you can try providing appropriate chewy items like chew toys or textured rubber items to satisfy the need for oral stimulation. Consistently redirecting their attention to these alternatives and reinforcing positive behaviors can help. If the chewing behavior is persistent, it’s best to consult with an occupational therapist who can guide you with specific strategies to address these sensory issues in a positive and structured way.
Kindly mention the age and diagnosis of your child. Actually, some kids explore and seek various soft textures or seek pressure from the environment to self-regulate their sensory system. And sometimes they get these regulatory tactile inputs from soft gel balls or toys or from the mother's cheeks, breast, or armpit area .... I would like you to connect with me online (dm me on Instagram - @priyanka.highsky.ot / email me at priyanka.umeot@gmail.com) to have his proper sensory evaluation done to actually understand his sensory need
My son repeating the sentences what he know already or it happened in the past but he says to us only but again and again ... What should i do mam plz help
"Thank you for your comment! It’s common for children with sensory issues to engage in behaviors like licking or mouthing non-food items. To address this, you can offer safer alternatives like chewable toys, textured fabrics, or oral sensory toys. Regularly redirecting the behavior and reinforcing positive habits can help. If the behavior persists, it might be helpful to consult with an occupational therapist who can create a personalized approach to manage these sensory-seeking behaviors."
