So lucky I got to see this bike in person. Absolutely incredible work!
Fantastic! I’m a new subscriber thanks to Ronald’s recommendation. Brilliant work and fabrication.
You are so talented! It shows in everything you do. Design, color, welding, sheet metal, mechanics, fiberglass, filmmaking, editing. And above all, patience and attention to detail. Thank you for the supreme effort, it’s a treat for all of us.
Respect on the complete motor teardown, porting, and tuning the VMs. That separates the men from the boys.
WHY is no motorcycle company producing anything like this when there's obviously crazy amounts of interest and demand. They keep missing the mark year after year. Fantastic design and execution!
I mean all of them are. Ducati, Yamaha, Triumph, BMW, Kawasaki, Royal Enfield, and more all make various retro themed bikes or cafe racer type models.
Thin seats are uncomfortable as hell and have no room for passengers. I agree the bikes look good but suck to ride
@@BrickHouseBuilds For sure. I think a lot of people just don't realize this because they have to have those big ass exhausts with cats that sound bad. Just replace that thing and you're in business!
Finally nice to see someone do a build that actually tore down the motor, cleaned, painted then rebuilt.
Simply an incredible and perfect example of what a Cafe Racer should be. Thankyou for this build timelapse of an impeccable piece of motorcycle purity at it's absolute best. 🏁🏁
Super clean build, Glad to see there are still some that appreciate these old motors for what they are.
It's so nice to see such incredible skills used to produce something besides another custom harley cruiser/chopper. There are so many interesting engines out there to build around and styles of bikes to make. This was very refreshing to watch. Very nice work.
I very much appreciate that Jeff! One could say the custom CX scene is even played out so I really wanted a fresh take on this platform hence the colors, lines, and various things
Superb job - I really like your attention to small details, to me they're what separate a good build from a cobbled-together-frankenbike. Love the result and you've given me a few ideas for my own build. Thanks for posting.
This is by far my favorite build of any motorcycle channel. When I think of getting back on a bike, this is what I dream about.
Saw the build in my recommended. Then saw Ronalds post and knew i couldn’t skip this one.
Great build man!
Unbelievable amount of quality craftmanship! Its amazing to watch it all come together - truly a one of kind! Absolute stunner BJ - Great job!
Thanks so much Mike! I'm excited to watch it here soon and relive the build
You've done an awesome job on that bike. Very high level of workmanship, and great attention to detail. You should be proud of what you've built! 😄
Congrats on finally completing this build, the detail is really on point and build quality is surely 11/10! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
Awesome, what a fine mechanic you are ..... priceless ! After 3 CX 500's in the 70's and 80's, I am stunned by the potential of this bike as a café racer. You opened many eyes, thank you for that !
Greetings from the Netherlands, Hans Viveen - Gorinchem.
The video was a great way to show how much work went into creating this masterpiece and the fact that you did the work yourself! Nice job on the bike and the video!
Very much appreciated 🙏 It was a hell of a lot of footage to work through lol
Wow, what a build, not to mention this video, editing, drone footage, music, you nailed it.The attention to detail and skill you have is amazing. Watching you rebuild the engine gave me anxiety. The torque of that V- twin when revving it in the stand is cool, that has to feel awesome under you. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Mike! These are so fun when they rev and rock sideways. You can feel that coming out of corners and its part of the character of these bikes for sure
The attention to detail is amazing. Watching the engine disassembled was very entertaining
Another gorgeous bike!!!
Im glad you made this video like this, i saw pictures of this bike and missed all the cool fabrication!
I restored an original cx650 in 1999. Paid $200. What a nightmare but an amazing machine when it was done. The power it had stunned everyone that rode it. So amazing to see a modern restoration build. Looks beyond amazing and the time and dedication you put into it. Awesome job.
Dang thanks so much! The most notable thing power wise on these compared to a 500 is the torque. It is flat as can be. The bike doesn't care what rpm you are at it just pulls! Similar in feel(not power) to an SV650. Thank you though!
How does someone so young have skill sets like the ones you obviously possess? This was nothing short of watching a magical transformation happen before our very eyes. Outstanding. Gorgeous result.
Thank you. Its not like skills appear overnight. In just this video you see my progress my welding skills over 3 years. Just keep practicing, making mistakes, and learning. Also im 35 so I have more years than you may think
It needs time, money, and the guts to take a grinder to functional components.
If you have those you can build anything.
Another superior custom fabrication built machine. All I can say is WOW! When you first started it up, I was shaking my head right along with you because I was in complete shock about the snappy throttle response it had! If I didn’t know better, hearing that bike coming down the road, I would believe it to be a high dollar Ducati racing bike. I love to watch you as you custom fabricate each piece to produce an amazing work of art. Great job! Thank You for sharing your work. I’m a subscriber now.
Thanks so much Randall! This bike absolutely sounds like something way more expensive lol
Mate, another awesome build, I hope you enjoyed doing it as much as I did watching it, you are a gifted person, this should be the way forward for you in your new shop, there is definitely a market for your talents in these one off bikes, 🤙🇬🇧
You Sir definitely knocked this custom CX500 build of yours way way out of the park! These bikes in stock form never grabbed my attention.. but this one, this one is très magnifique😌 And that sound is absolutely an auditory treat! Sweet, when do we get the next one😂 Seriously though great job man👏
Thank you much! Not sure when the next one is but it will be the CX500 scrambler build
What an intro 😍 love this bike man. Cudo’s for all the hard work ⚡️
Thanks dude! Had to have fun with that intro and grab everyone's attention!
Such a beautiful build BJ. I’m glad I got to watch this thing take shape from the beginning. Great job buddy! 🤘🏼
Blown away! Well done man, you did a fantastic job! props to you for seeing it through too, that's a LOT of work with no cut corners. Bravo
This time lapse is simply AMAZING
The amount of work, patience and skill is mind bending truly.. right at the beginning of Covid to boot. 🙌🙏💥
Congratulations on such a beautiful piece of art all made by hand sir.
Be proud of yourself, I know many of the Moto community sure are as well.
Cheers!
Cheers!
@@BrickHouseBuilds you’re welcome my friend!
I airplayed this on my 75” led lol
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
This was a truly epic build…. I tried to decide which bit I like the most, but it was impossible as I loved every part. Particular highlights were the exhaust system, seat tray, rear seat hump but really it’s all good. The drama of the fitting and refitting of the modified tank was nearly heart-breaking. I’d be scared to work out how long this all took, but what a result. Were there times half-way through when you wondered if it would ever be finished?
Anyhow, very very good job, BJ you should be proud.
Oh it never felt like it would be done. The fuel tank and a carb issue literally added a year to the build. The fuel tank was my biggest regret even though it looks cool. I appreciate it though as yes so much went into it
...i get a thrill putting a hugger and new mirrors on my bike....the skills you have are just wonderful for a full time rider but arm chair mechanic to watch...very well done...
This is BY FAR the best CX build i have ever seen.! Holy crap..!! Well done sir 👌
I came to the channel when the bike had already its current state , I got to say seeing the whole process in this time laps video it's brilliant , great job .
I think many will feel similar as the channel has grown a ton after the bike was in its current state so many won't realize how long it took. Its a very interesting look back for sure. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome! Not only the skill and effort that went into this build, but also the esthetics. You nailed it! 🙌
I appreciate this motorcycle more than the crotch rockets. The hours of work was done to this is already priceless. Amazing set of skills well done. I wish most major motorcycle manufacturers will make a classic modern bikes like these.
Beautiful job as always, even down to the wiring I don’t mind doing wiring for myself but it takes the most time I’m sure the client will be very happy with it for years to come. Keep ‘em coming brother.
I definitely take pride in the wiring part so thank you! He is having fun on it now!
Wow! Awesome build. Awesome, beautiful bike. Super craftmanship. Well done. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
BJ, what a fabulous project bike!! I loved the time lapse build and photography, and the music was awesome. You are so talented. Keep it up, BJ!
A work of art BJ! I've always loved this bike, and I love it even more after watching this video!
I´m very impressed by this conversion. Thanks for charing your video.
BJ, your skillset has me sitting her on my couch in awe! Editing was superb. I subscribed with all notifications on!
Wow, I mean the attention to detail it’s probably the most impressive thing on an already incredible build. Well done
Great build, awesome to see how much detail has been put into this.
Thank you much! I had to leave out so much for this short video so if you want more details I have dedicated videos for each part of the bike.
this is the best build ive seen on youtube. so many custom fabricated pieces, impressive!
That is an awesome build!! I love what you're done with it. That swingarm build is amazing!
Thanks so much! If you want to see more that I didn't show in this video I have a full build playlist for it!
The design and craftsmanship are great. The sound of the machine is excellent. Congratlations 👍🏻
Fantastic bike! My favorite part, gear linkage. Excellent job, you can be proud of yourself
Thank you much Petri, the linkage was one of the more satisfying things to make. It feels great shifting too
the way you bend the metal is really enjoyable, great work, I appreciate all the metal work. Thats tough
Thanks for the inspiration with your epic Build. Has me pumped to crack on with my '83 CX650. Thanks for a great video and setting an amazing looking Bar to aspire to
I must have looked at close to a thousand videos with bike or car restorations and rebuilds - 99% of them has been more or less disappointing and frustrating, due to lack of skills or shoddy work in general.
But this is one of the very few that is a true gem in a pile of cracked rocks!
I have not seen a single dirty/unpolished/"it'll-do-half-done"/meh.....piece in this build - I tip my (imaginary) hat to you and your craftsmanship.
I wish I was 50 years younger and could start a build like this again - My first fixer-upper was a Honda CB 750-F1 in the 1970s, and my latest, and probably last, was a Suzuki GS1000 G 10 years ago.
Your attention to detail made me feel as happy and content as I did when finishing a project with good and satisfying results anytime over the last 50 years or so.
Thank you!
I've seen plenty of CX500/650 builds, this is far and away the best I have ever seen! Nice to see the motor getting a refresh, rather than just a coat of paint, and your redesign of the ugly ass-end of the frame is absolutely spot on. Top quality work mate (y)
Wonderful job mate!!! I know how much work you put on this project! The result is amazing!!! Congratulations 👏 👏 👏
So many amazing moments in this video.
I particularly liked the gear change mechanism.
Truly outstanding build
Thanks for the video 👏👏👏👏
Thanks so much! If you want to see more on any specific part of the bike I have full videos showing how I made each thing. 🤘
I have seen many builds but your work is one of the few that made me wanna go back in time to acquire skills to become just like you
I had a CX500 back in the day. Was extremely reliable, but it didn’t look like this one !
Amazing job again.
Fantastic modified... and everything perfectly did finished, he is a great bike modification person, Weldone you
Your talent and expertise is awesome. We've had both the CX500 and the 650 version and now I wish we had kept the 650.
You are obviously very talented. I quit counting how many fabrication skills you have that I envy.
Great build, learned a ton and was inspired in many ways. Loved swing the evolution of the bike, shop, skill sets, and HAIR!
Thank ya! Its crazy that my hair didn't even grow during the build. Happened so late in the process
AMAZING!!!! Fantastic skills, creativity and artistry. Excellent workmanship!!!
You are an absolute LEGEND! Just found your channel yesterday and I'm hooked! Can't wait to see your future projects!
Such a beautiful rebuild, I’m sure Soichiro Honda would be proud looking down at the final product
Very nice project !!! Great respect for your work and skills . You are perfect designer , engineer and builder .
Best Regards from Poland .
Sir you are truly an automotive artist of the highest quality, love your work.
Hi from Ireland 🇮🇪, class vid class build , good skills , most these build vids are all just cosmetic, great attention to detail, loving the gear selector , real tidy work , hope it rides well , well done
Thank you so much! It rides excellent! Corner stability, shifting feel, acceleration, and of course braking all phenomenal!
Labor inspiradora, también se aprende y recibe ideas, gracias por compartir su trabajo.
You have mastered your craft, truly appreciate your vision/ concept, exceptional follow through. Love your shop space, everything ya need, within a few feet. Congratulations on a gorgeous creation.
My 94 Honda VFR750 (frame, motor, swing arm)\ Ducati 996 (sub frame, tail section, exhaust) GSXR1000 Front end, BKing (F Fender). The frame and sub frame had to be modified for the degree of rake, steering tab stop points needed relocating. The sub needed a re tab and exhaust was a bit tricky to figure out the best routing.
Wish I had filmed its teardown and build out.
This is art and incredibly hard work. Pure and simple. Respect to you sir.
Absolutely fantastic video, you made that look so easy I would love to do something like that and as for the bike I love it you could make a company doing this full-time making one-off bikes it just looked and sounded fantastic, well-done bro keep it up.
Thank you! This is what I do full time. Brick House Builds is a real business
As I said before fantastic bike I love it. Best looking cx500 out there. All the best from England 🇺🇸🇬🇬🏍🔧
I couldnt stop watching.
Thanks for the awesome editing, and that's a great looking finished(?) bike.
There's only one problem l can see.
I'll never get to have a ride on it.....😊 👌👍🍻
Hello from St. Louis. Very inspirational work ! Been a fanboy of the Hayabusa. Currently own 6. In the process of finishing a 78 GS550 brat for my wife. Just a basic amateur build with the motogadget m-unit blue. But after watching tons of videos, I’m inspired to attempt an 81 shaft driven GS1000 with a mono shock. I literally have thousands of questions and am in awe of your customization
Wonderfully done my man
Sorry I'm late to the party. Your builds are so clean and love that another oldtimer saved from the wrecker but not purist restoration destined to collect dust. Subscribed, just a few videos to catch up now!
Fantastic RE-build, a lot of hard work can be seen in this. A huge well done. Ride safe 👍
That my man was a beautiful piece of art , congrats , was absolutely absorbed by the craft of the whole thing !
My deepest respect "young man" for your great work under all aspects. b.r. from Germany 🛠
hallo
Thoroughly enjoyed watching every minute of this! You are very talented 👏
Phenomenal. The planning a build of that magnitude must take, even before we consider the impressive skill set displayed leading to your incredible execution. All of which gives a quite stunning result. Kudos sir.
Thank you Graham! Definitely lots of planning goes into it. Glad you enjoyed!
I daily a cx650. It seems like it's a favorite engine for cafe race builds for some reason.
Really nice fabrication on that subframe and swingarm! Not all that complicated but you had the vision to make it look right!
Man that is one sharp machine . Really enjoyed the production too . Nice work !
Wow, the best video i watched this week. Awesome work. On the bike and the video!
Woooow!!!!! 1st of all you made it looks so easy to do.... that's not fair😂😅 you got skills. Great job it looks and sounds great. You made it look like a factory-made.... enjoy your hard work and be safe out there!!!🎉
Thank you so much! The factory made point means a lot as OEM fit/finish is something I strive for
One of the nicest CX builds I've seen in a long time. Q - If someone was looking to have a CX500 custom built similar to this - typically what would it cost? - just a ball park figure. Thanks in advance.
Thank you! I'm sorry but I just don't disclose prices as they vary wildly. I don't even know what other shops charge and I no longer do customer work so any number I'd day would be meaningless
wow man you have talent coming out of your ears! amazing build and a build video i could actually enjoy watching the whole way through... at normal playback speed even
Well thank you. I can't imagine needing to view in FF being that its 3 years already condensed into 26 minutes lol. The world moves fast enough
@BrickHouseBuilds ah my bad. I mean that this video does not need to be played in ff as it's all gold. Other build videos I have watched I have had to watch in ff
Had a few CX500's back in the day but never went round corners like that 😆 brilliant job 👍
Sweet , very sweet. I'd be a proud chap if I owned this.
I was a bit cheeky about one of your earlier builds , so I went looking for more recent work and found this.
Well , you nailed it with this one.
Glad you feel this one is an improvement. Like anyone I must start from somewhere but I make sure I always improve
Made my day to watch this...thank you...craftsmanship at a very high level...right on Bro!!!
Mate it’s been a while and you just keep getting better and better at the craft of building some of the nicest custom rides in the market today epic skills solid as a brickhouse
My brother this is nothing short of Amazing. I'm 44 and never seen so much detail go into a build as you have with this one. Hands down the best C build to date! Have you ever thought of building an overhead "gantry" on castor wheels which you could use as a lifting frame to wheel shit around and suspend items in mid air. Makes like a charm.
Thank you much! I'd thought about that but couldn't come up with a good way to make it happen with how the space was used. I'm actually in a new facility now
@@BrickHouseBuilds I see you in a new setup and boy does it look classy. Had a nice turnaround on the opening of it too, so many good people in your circle which is lovely🙏
Keep up the great work and look forwards to seeing future builds👌
That engine was used over here on the Silverwing n CX650 Eurosport..I must say with std pipes they sounded great but I know you youngsters want things loud...Nice build which You Finished to a high standard,Very Well Done..
Correct, es models, turbo, gl, cx500, cx650, cx500, etc. Glad you liked it
Well I hope everyone enjoys this video as it really hits home as to how much work I put into this bike. For those who don't know this was built for a customer of mine so to those who will ask "how much" or "is it for sale" the short answer is no. I am no longer taking on any customer work so this is one of my last works for someone else. Business aside I am very proud of how this bike turned out and what it provided me with in regards to new skills, testing patience, helping build the channel, providing inspiration for others, the list goes on. If you have any questions on specific parts of the bike please know that there are 60+ other videos on the bike showing each step with all parts linked in the descriptions. Anyway, thank you for watching!
Nicely done.
Great job ! Upside down fork is soo cute!
I have 2006 cbf 600, but my favorite is cx 500 sport from the 80's /after cb 750 four, of course/ ;)
Greetings from Bulgaria!
Thank you!
Thank you!
No more customer builds ever again?
