    friendly reminders that boundaries are for you, not other people. You cannot control how others act, but you can control yourself. So instead of, my boundary is "you cant yell in a fight" thats actually a rule for the other person. The boundary would be "if were fighting and you yell, I will leave the conversation until you can calming speak about the issue"

    Toxic positivity being the pick as the least bad is wild to me because it's been one of the things that makes me most angry, especially this last year. 😂 My only child died in the NICU at 11 days old last September and I've had so many people be like "well at least you can sleep in!"(wtf) or "you've gotta be grateful for what you have!" or "you have to move on and live your life" or "he would have wanted you to be happy" and I just wanna fight anyone and everyone who starts any sentence with "at least" now lol

      @@nwerd7584 lol I'm not going to not talk about my son because people say shitty things. I love him. His life only continues through me talking about him and sharing about him. The idea that I wouldn't talk about him or am "phishing" for a certain response is gross. He was and is loved, his life mattered and matters, and he deserves to be talked about. Maybe say nothing if you can't say anything kind, especially to a grieving mother. 🤷🏻‍♀️
      Thanks for the kind comments! I'm doing okay right now but I miss him, especially with his birthday approaching. I was just sharing here because it was funny to me that it ended up being first pick, I'm not upset and I love Rhett and Link and didn't take any offense to it or think they said anything wrong. I laughed and just wanted to comment because of it lol. 😅

    As a disabled person I can tell you toxic positivity is the worst. There may be people worse off, but that doesn't make things any easier. All it does is minimise what that person is going through making them feel isolated.

      Also with the toxic positivity, do you hear alot of- try changing your diet, everything's connected to your gut, you need to just get more sun and get out of bed and exercise (hard when I have nerve issues and am in severe chronic pain unable to leave my bed), essential oils, you take too many medications they're what's causing your disease/illnesses/syndromes... You just have adrenal fatigue it sounds like...
      It seems like everyone thinks these bs cures will fix me, when they don't even know all of my dx, and you'd think if any of those dumb barely even holistic things worked, 1 of my many specialists would've said, it's worth a shot

    I think Rhett conflated being a people pleaser with being selfless. A people pleaser is someone who pleaser other at their own expense, that's why they usually develop resentment towards the people they please. If you're just going with the flow because it doesn't bother you, there's nothing really toxic about it.

    • @drelle504
      @drelle504 Рік тому +11

      As a fellow people pleaser, we're weirdly happy about putting our feelings aside to help and pour into others. Yes, it can hurt when it's not returned, but knowing that we've met someone's needs is meaningful for us. It's a vicious cycle.

    I'll tell you what Rhett, my mother is the definition of a boundary crosser, and she is no longer in my life. So you can cross boundaries right out of people's lives.
    Crossing boundaries is disregarding a person's preferences in their relationship with you. You are saying that you dont care what makes them uncomfortable or even sad. When you invade their privacy, you touch them inappropriately, you ask for favors from them that put them in jeopardy, you embarrass them publicly, THAT'S crossing boundaries.

    • @prismabird
      @prismabird Рік тому +4

      As someone who has had the, "these are my boundaries," conversation, I can tell you it's because all other attempts to sound "human" about it were treated as trivial, something to argue with, something to "cutely" sidestep ("I know you said you wanted to be alone, but I'm lonely!" *flops on bed*). Therapy language doesn't usually get busted out until the boundary crosser has refused to listen to softer requests. It's not douchey, it's about protecting one's self.

      Link literally says in this video that Rhett never teases him outside of videos and it's only for entertainment but people are either too stupid to comprehend it or choose to ignore it to fit their own psychoanalyses.

    Passive aggression is literally direct opposite of being brutally honest (ahole). It’s not smart nor cool. It’s one of the biggest red flags indicating how immature a person is. Patty. No thanks

    You pretty much named off all traits of a human. So are we all toxic or does it cancel out and none of us are toxic 🤔 mind blown.
    Edit: I understand now...my effort to counteract someone else's toxicity, makes me toxic. So whomever is toxic first wins!

    I haven’t even really gotten into the draft, but it’s clear a toxic trait is talking over each other (which I guess would fall under narcissism, thinking that what you have to say is more important than the other)

    How about we play this dart game on a sliding scale. Meaning: the further you grow in the lead the further from the board you get. Both Rhett and Link will start at the same starting distance. The person losing doesn’t move up closer though. For every 10 points(?) the person in the lead has to step back 12” (1 foot). If you did this you might be able to get rid of the advantage dart; or there should be an advantage dart line which doesn’t make the advantage dart too obnoxious.
