Nice Video...we were over in New Zealand to visit daughter and spent 3 weeks in a self contained juicy Toyota HiAce camper van and loved it and our middle seat heated up...😉 We found on the west coast of the south island we mainly stayed at campsites booked via camper mate and the east coast we stayed in a lot of freedom campsite or DOC sites, but compared to Scotland (UK) the camping is great....daughter is currently over on the south island working / travelling and purchased something like the L300 (not sure what she paid for it)....😊
As a Kiwi and travel here. Your video is good. For a persons comment there is no Ikea here. Hope you are enjoying it here. We live in Kawerau just outside of Rotorua where you can camp for free
Wow, wow, that's a great "home on wheel" Looks very comfortable, convenient and is indeed a super wonderful way to travel. Thank you very much for showing and sharing with us your "home" and useful information. Be safe on the road and take care always. Happy exploring and looking forward to watching your cooooool videos. Kudos to you both, Joao Christiana.
My partner and I are going to be in NZ in a week. We will be there for 2 months. You touched briefly on freedom camping but I’m wondering how often you can find free places to camp. We aren’t picky at all. It can be in a parking lot. Checking out camper mate now
Freedom camping in NZ is really easy! There are plenty of free spots, and you’ll find toilets almost everywhere. Use CamperMate! Hope you both have a wonderful time
Thanks for showing us around Berry and enlightening everyone of the costs involved. A whole new chapter for you and you both seem excited about it. NZ it seems has some very spectacular sights to see and this I am sure will be a great way to see them. As ever safe travels.
I just bought that cooker yesterday Tuesday the 17th 2023. I just took the legs off it, lid off it, sides off it and screwed it down on a steel plate out back of my van and slide it out when I needed to. It's the exact same model and color. I also have 6 12v cigarette lighters, 1 for my T.V and aerial. I even put a 12v cigarette lighter from my solar powered batteries to the front cigarette lighter to perpetually run my brass monkey fridge non stop in the front passenger side. Even put cigarette lighter all round my car so it's not far out of reach from me. At Kathmandu my cooker stove costs me $89.87. 1 off price.
Welcome to Van Life, it's great. You look well set up for travelling around so have fun. Was quite surprised at the cost of vans over there compared to the UK but I guess it's supply and demand at the start of summer.
Hello there, hope you guys are doing good! It does get cold but it’s spring now so the temperatures are getting warmer and warmer, nothing than a warm blanket or 2 doesn’t resolve! We weren’t sure as well about van life but I think now we are convinced 😃😃
Most useful video on the subject, and you guys are lovely, thank you a lot! I have a question about the technical check: do all sellers are ok about going to VTNZ before buying to make a professionnal check? If not, is it suspectful to refuse and should I avoid buy the van in this case?
We can stay 1 year on this current visa. But it just depends of how long we will take to travel the whole country and the future really, we are planning to leave in the summer months here which will start in December until Feb. Let’s see how it goes until then and if we end up staying the whole year 😃😃
Good to know that New Zealand is campervans friendly. I think you have all the things that you need. Not bad... Not bad at all
Yep New Zealand is very campervan friendly, if there’s a place to own a van to live or travel NZ is the place ahaha

You might want to check out prices from Ikea instead of a local supermarket.

Impressive, glad to see you guys are keeping well! Doesn't it get super cold at night? Not sure we could brave the van life!

Life’s good 😊 how about you?
Really helpful. Thanks
What did you guys end up doing for insurance? Cost, coverage, and company?
Hi, we ended up just driving without insurance, luckily never had a problem. But we would advise doing one

Thanks 😊 no seller should refuse a check before buying, if they do it's because they are hiding something.
How did you or how are you planning to take your van from North to south island.
Hi we took the ferry, here's the video ua-cam.com/video/BXgq96hzEbE/v-deo.htmlsi=9oEnle-80SeE1mha

We bought a plan where we could use wifi anywhere in NZ as long as we had signal. We have a video explaining about the wifi plan we had 😁
Why didn't you buy a camper van or carivan instead ?
Campervan
