Great video! It looks like we hit a lot of the same points about both Indy and Marion's themes. Did you find all this yourself? Mine are largely built off what I read in "John Williams' Film Music" by Emilio Audissino and Brad Frey's reduction/analysis of En Bateau on his UA-cam channel. I am curious why you chose this particular Nazi's theme. It is a very strong theme for them, but doesn't appear until Last Crusade, whereas the Nazis do have their own shorter motifs in Raiders, especially in Desert Chase (although your points still stand). And for Close Encounters, the theme is a usually-diegetic pattern used as a message between the aliens and the humans. It's how they communicate, which is really a unique way to use a leitmotif. Also, I like your thumbnail! That's basically what I was trying to do with mine for my Indy video, I just had to change the arrow from red to blue to create a bit of contrast.
Thanks for the epic comment. I enjoyed our exchange on Twitter too. We gotta stick together! 🤣 Your channel is great. All the sources I used to put this together are cited in the description 👍🏻
@@JoshWalshMusic Yeah, see you around! I should have checked the description, and I should have expected Frank Lehman’s leitmotif catalog. Those are extremely thorough and very helpful.
"Is Indy a hero" just blew my mind. ha!

Wow true, Indy doesn't have to be in Raiders. Maybe time for a fan edit to test this theory out
