There was one standing right below the trigger on the outside. It's hard to believe it couldn't be seen. Good shooting hitting the target as far as that goes, but I couldn't believe you fellas didn't wait for the one at the gate. Oh well, maybe next time.
Great job. Here in Australia we have a woven mesh wire similar to chicken wire, but made from 2mm (1/12”) wire. Here it’s called Wallaby Wire, and comes in widths from 30cm to 2m (1 to 6’). You could overlay it on your cattle panels, if something similar is available in USA. It would keep all the bastards in the trap. Cheers from Tasmania
I also have hog hunt vids. Wow awesome DIY hog trap. I watched you're armadille trap video and went to yer channel to view more and look how big your son is in this video, best bonding days. Deermeatfordinner also has hog trap here in Florida.

@@TheHandyHunter I haven't done any hunting yet. Are these pigs twitching and kicking because they are still alive? If so, for me personally I would want them to suffer the least amount of time. Regarding your hunting cart video, it was excellent and gave me some good ideas. So thank you for that.
Hey brother, pigs always display some type of nerve twitching after dispatching. They will twitch even if you shoot them multiple times. It’s just their nerves which can go on for a while. Thanks for watching and hope you get to go hunting sometime!!

I told him that I'd fly down for a weekend to hook up something just like this, but so far he's not interested. I don't get it, I'd be doing exactly what you guys did! Nice work!
I love the idea of shooting it to shut but why not just set a wire to a post that's sticks about 10 inches out of the ground and make it the center of your bait pile. That's how we use our guilatene door traps and guarantee catch alot more hogs when they set it off on themselves anytime day or night
Because one hog could go in and set it off before the majority enter. Not a bad concept, I just feel that this method gives us a little more control over when to shut the door. Still hard to get them in either way...some are educated and some are not...lol. Thanks for watching.
The guys from Hollis Farms have got a great tool that makes it easier to drag the hogs out of the trap, just shot over to the Hollis Farms channel a see what they have to offer.
Awesome! I hope we don't ever have a problem with them here in KY. Although it would be nice to abundant year round targets to hone skills on. Great job fellas!
They were already educated from somewhere else. We had been watching this sounder for a couple weeks and the big sows would never go in so they were already trap shy. Not sure where they got educated but it happens. They will always go to a cell cam bait station so hopefully we’ll get them sooner or later. BTW, a whole new sounder that we’ve never seen showed up today...about 18! Crazy.
@Gladiator King Check out Jager Pro. You'll soon find out how quickly those jogs learn. If you don't trap them the first time, good trying to get them again.
@@TheHandyHunter We’ve always had them up here but they are starting to explode. They do cover more ground in the mountains but they love our loop. We see them from spring-early fall on our property

This is some low IQ stuff. You could have used a string... or a simple electronic remote release for less than 30 or 40 bucks....
I could have but you still have to build the gate regardless and I guarantee you shooting a target is more fun than pulling a string at 100 yards.
