Great review as always. I was really getting excited about this watch and thinking this is actually great value for an ISO certified diver, being a diver myself I'm always interested and at that price for ISO?? Amazing. And then you showed us the lume and my thoughts on this, it does NOT meet ISO certified standards and unless your piece has a flaw, this is not a real ISO diver. It would never pass the test, no way, no how! Legiblity for an extended period of time is a prerequisite for certification. They may have self certified this watch (which can be done by declaring it's met all the standards), but this is not an ISO diver, and it's false advertising to say it is. I'm very disappointed and appreciate you pointing this out or otherwise I could be ordering one. It's a pity as otherwise it's a beauty.
I was always curious on this one,ofc its too large for me,but its Seagulls answer to all Seikos and AliExpress diver homages.Recent orange version looks great
Nive look looking watch but I would prefer the black version. Customization is key so more micro adjustments, please. I do like the size. I'm a bigger guy so a big watch is good for me, $300 is a tough sell considering the competition it faces from other brands and I am not talking about homage brands but well established brands. Drop the price and fix the shortcomings and I think they would have a good selling watch. Great review. Cheers!
It's definitely a quality piece, I just wish the Asian markets would move away from large watches. They seem stuck in the large watch/ tiny wrist stage. Great vid my friend.
I’ve always really loved the look of this watch, but I wish they would release a smaller version of it. No more than 39 or 40mm, and improve the lume of course. Great review as always my friend!
Great review my friend being the established brand that they are that price is tolerable especially with a high beat movement but yes smaller dimensions would have me sold on this watch fantastic review my friend 👍
ISO Certified Diver, with 28,800 beat in-house movement and a Sapphire crystal... I don't think there are too many other alternatives. The closest Citizens and Seikos are closer to €1000. The Orient Kamasu, though not ISO Certified, is probably the only real alternative to this watch.
Thank you for the video. I have wanted this blue one since I saw it over a year ago. The price and unanswered questions about the size and how it wears, as well as the lume were all telling me no. If this watch were priced as the San Martin and Cronos, I would have likely bought it. It is a very nice looking piece. Still, I will have to pass on it until the price drops and I think the poor lume is inexcusable.
I currently have 2 watches with the same movement, they are incredibly accurate, under 2 seconds a day , have Rolex gmt 11.thats 1.5 seconds a day .i love the look of the watch, wont be buying one though its far too big,and im a big guy.
I saw a pic of this watch with the back opened and noticed that the movement is VERY tiny compared with the casing and it has a lot of plastics surrounding the movement. 😔 Did you opened yours to check it?
Its not a bad looking piece , didn't realise they were high beat which is nice but the size is bit much & lume quality & application is poor considering its a "certified" diver , i think they'll struggle to shift many of those at that price 225-250 maybe but not optimistic . Agree with all your points ,glad you reviewed it. (oh a follow up on the SM sm300 would be interesting in time of course ,if you haven't flipped it by then 😉)
A rough look a like is the Orient Mako XL (Japan) which has much better lume at roughly same price ( if you look a bit: ex. Jomashop), from my point of view Seagull is trying to compete directly to Orient. Orient has a range of low to high quality divers but even the low priced ones are better!
I also want to purchase one but two large. They need a 40mm. I also noticed there’s two price points. One with a exhibition case back with a lower beat movement of 21,600 This one is quite a bit cheaper The one I want has sold case back with high beat movement 28,800 . Believe this is the one that cost per round $400. But they both are too big we need a 40 mm Hello single 40 mm please you could still make both. I just don’t understand why the company would not make the obvious choice To make a 40mm I guess they don’t like sales. Because I bet you that would sell off the wall and maybe bring the price down to 350. Almost guaranteed crazy sales even at 400.
It is a lovely watch with its own unique design characteristics. However, its prized too high and at that level, there are so many more microbrand watches which offer their own unique value and designs which I would find more attractive. Further, if they are trying to compete with the Japanese brands at that price levels, I don't believe it would find many customers.
I've been waiting for a good sale and finally pulled the trigger last night for $252 with free shipping.
Wonderful! Enjoy this bad boy 👍
Wow, amazing price!
how is it
@@omarsalim9562I like it. Running at +18 s/d, acceptable.

Looks very nice, I really like seagull watches - had a few and they have always impressed. Looking out for when you drop the review.
The movement is great on the Timegrapher 😁

Yes, it's a totally viable candidate 👍

Yes, totally, drop the price and make it 40mm and they'll have a Seiko killer ☺️

Totally, some Asian companies believe we westerners love huge stuff 😂

Thanks mate! Yes with those 2 issues resolved it would be killer

You have the Seiko King Turtles that are around the $400 mark but indeed this offers quiet a lot for the price
@@Horologique Good point.
Just saw that strap link binding. Like I said, quality control is not up to scratch, especially at that price point. Still a nice watch though 🤔

Good review 👍 . Too big, and very poor lume makes me wonder how it can be certified for diving.
now that's how a diver should look!
I'm selling one if you are interested 😁
@@Horologique is it the 200m or 300m?
It's 200n but it's an ISO rated diver, which means you can take it to 200 actual meters below water, unlike 200m non ISO and even 300m non ISO

No I didn't, I usually don't do that not to compromise the water resistance
Just bought this watch today with the AliExpress sale for $245 USD plus tax ($261.50 USD total). I hope 🤞 it’s worth the price.
So, what do you think about this watch one year later?
@@adamdas4527 now 2 years later
Im getting a Oris Aquis feeling about the case design
And the braclet!

I think the mechanism inside seagull are on another level.

good review, not a fan of the date cyclopes
I’d be interested if it drops to around 150-175 on 11/11.300 is way to much.An Orient or Phoibos is a way better deal.
Maybe the Orient Kamasu is a better deal, but that's not a ISO diver
@@Horologique True, but how many ppl are going to actually dive? You can own a Ferrari that goes 200mph but you aren’t doing that in the town.
It's a very pretty and appears to be a well built watch, but that price and that poor lume makes it a non-contender. The size is ok.
Good looking piece...but too big and poor lume.
Pas si mal mais le lume et le tarif pour l'Europe à 340€ ... c'est juste pas jouable.
Ça malheureusement c'est sûr... Avec les soldes du 10 et 11 novembre ça devrait baisser un peu
de toutes beauté
Printed bezel is a minus.
You changed my mind now I’m glad I didn’t purchase one. Especially with the bad loom for a dive watch really I guess no one’s going to use it to dive

Negative; PRICE, SIZE=to big(40 mm) would made it more attractive at least for me and finally the lume it's to weak otherwise it's a great watch
Bezel too thick and face too small.
It's copying blancpain fifty fathoms.. very clear
