Insane how small Cab is compared to Stacey! Trully see the mentoring that Peralta provided! Classic!

$3,481.76 in today's money. There were lots of contests but what the fuck would you expect? The first bowl competition took place only one year before and skateboarding was starting to die along with almost all of the best skateparks ever built like Winchester which was among the few that were considered perfect. No television audiences or even skateboard videos. The only people who cared about skateboarding had subscriptions to Skateboarder Magazine which turned into Action Now only a few months later and killed it for good. Only people like me continued to skate. I was the only kid in my middle school who was serious about skateboarding. Action Now was the beginning of "Extreme Sports" and the X-Games. It was disgusting to not have your one and only skateboard magazine not dedicated to it and you still don't like skateboard competitions that are not dedicated to it.

The inverted-warp shape, otherwise known as concave dude.

It was a good way to describe it, nerd. You didn't have true concave in the summer of 1979. It wasn't a term that skateboarders were familiar with yet. It wasn't used to sell skateboards . Warp was.
