    You're doing God's work.
    I have 8 rolls of Vision3 (bulk loaded) ready to develop and a QWD kit. Wanted to do the process myself, but I might have to mail a box to you.
    Your video's are thorough and inspiring.

      It's not to bad to do it at home, I processed a couple at home myself - some with C-41 cross and some with ECN2 - and results are amazing. It is more tedious due to the remjet removal, but it's quite satisfying!

    Holy cow! I sent my 12 rolls of ECN to you last week, you got it Saturday. Just got your email that it's done and shipping today. Incredible. I can't wait to scan my film.

      Well... I happened to be in the lab on Saturday when it arrived so I went ahead and got it kicked out! Everything looks really great! Thanks for sending it in to us!

      @@MidwestFilmCo I love it. Those are my first rolls of ECN. I have another 30+ rolls to shoot of both 50T and 500T. Looking forward to seeing your work.

    This channel is criminally underrated. I've been following you guys for a long time and the information you put out is ridiculously accurate. I hope more analog lovers stumble into your videos.
    (Also, are there any 16mm film processing studios in India?)

      Thanks for the kind words! I’m not aware of any labs in India but I’m totally unfamiliar with the area 😬

    It makes me so happy you guys are offering this! I personally think vision3 is far superior than Portra and Ektar. This video makes me feel so much more comfortable giving you my negatives to process. It's so exciting to see that you're using Kodak chemistry and that you're doing quality control of chemicals, which is so important! I've had several bad experiences with stills labs where they used old or dirty chemicals and my negatives came back with heavy color shifts to either green or magenta, which discouraged me to keep shooting vision3. Now I can bulk load all the short ends I have and not have to worry about how I going to develop them. This is awesome!

      Amazing! Yes, we've heard & seen first hand when labs use old/exhausted chems. I've done it hundreds of times with my own negatives throughout the years. My main concern when opening a lab was quality control. Our clients need to be able to trust our process with every order. Stoked to see your images! Thanks for the wonderful comment! - Justin

    Thanks for the great video! Keep up the good work! I’m from Germany. What’s the German lab called you mentioned?

    Very cool service and video! What do your scans of BW film look like and how would I go about adjusting them? For most of us stills photographers--we have basically no experience working with these kinds of scans. Can you point me to any tutorials of how to process these kinds of scans using commonly used post processing software like Lightroom, Photoshop, and/or Capture one? I would love to use your services, but will be starting from scratch working with log scans. At the moment I am either working from DSLR RAW scans or Linear Raw scans from my scanner and then using Negative Lab Pro Lightroom plug in to invert and do basic corrections. Need some help educating myself, and i suspect there are many others like me out here.

    Have you guys seen revini labs new dip and dunk system? Might be worth looking into

    • @MidwestFilmCo
      @MidwestFilmCo  Рік тому

      I saw an early version of this. Pretty cool system. Currently I process 8 rolls of 35mm at a time - I'd never get through our work load at 2 rolls a go. Thanks for reaching out!

    I just sent my first ever roll in! How long is the process from Receiving to being fully scanned? I’m really excited!

    Do you all develop for other camera retailers? I have customers asking for film to be developed and I don't have a lab.

    Are you providing a Cintel compatible 2383 LUT? Otherwise I think it’s too much work to actually get film/print like colors. The way the Cintel sees colors looks more digital than anything else in the Log scans. And there’re not compatible with standard Cineon print LUTs. And there no CSTs for what the Cintel spits out that would allow a user conversion without significant knowledge of color science.

    I’m kinda new to film photography. But I did not know that film was this flat? I thought it came “ready” grades kind off with its colors and film characteristics. These scans look like a log/raw image almost. Someone explain ?

    • @MidwestFilmCo
      @MidwestFilmCo  Рік тому

      Correct. That’s the whole deal with our service. It’s motion picture film, packaged in stills cartridges to shoot as stills, scanned LOG on a motion picture scanner.

      Depends how you scan, but Vision3 cinema film is made for post-processing (though personally I rarely do much). There’s still a lot of interpretation done in the scanning process regardless
