    I bet this would translate super well to a split-side adjustable skirt! Just add a few inches to your waist measurement or measure over a bulky sweater for the zwank calculator. Depending on how you want to do the waistband it will likely require a little more fabric and possibly some twill tape or grosgrain ribbon.

    Why did you omit the interfacing on the waist band? Because you used pleats? I love the idea of zero waste and no pattern! Thank you.

    Maybe I missed it, but what fabric did you use? Looks like a sateen on screen. Great skirt, this is a definite bookmark for later for me. Also for the waistband, you could up to double the lenth and make for a big bow that can be tied in back, to the sides, or wrapped around to the front for more style choices.(this would be my choice, gives me 1950s vibes, and Oooolala, I love the 1950s looks). Keep up the great work!

    Could use elastic and skip the zipper. What sewing machine are you using?

  • @mellie4174
    @mellie4174 16 днів тому +1

    Absolutely no way i would pleat a waistband. All that extra fabric will create bulk on the waist, make it stiff and will make it uncomfortable to wear because it can't move with your body. Just my personal opinion.

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  16 днів тому

      @@mellie4174 If you are using a thick fabric you could cut away the pleat underlay. It’s really going to depend on the fabric you are using but any light to medium weight fabric will work well with the pleats. If you are looking for a looser fit you could always do a half elastic waist band.

    • @Ami5Jo
      @Ami5Jo 16 днів тому

      I'm thinking you can substitute the waistband with one more comfortable to you. The goal of making it zero waste is more important.
