Have you upgraded the spool bearings or removed the bearing from the spool? I heard that you need the SLP spool pin remover for the reel. I've been wanting to do a deep clean on my SS Air but before doing it I've been watching many videos on UA-cam first. Normally I wait longer to do deep cleans but at the start of Fall I got into a 40 crappie fish day, so I think my SS Air is ready for a deep clean already
What size philips do you use on the screws for the cover? I tried using different size screw drivers and I about had a heart attack worried I was going to strip them. Then I looked at it and realized I could get the worm gear out without removing it.
What do you think about this reel over the Aldebaran bfs what kind of bearings did you put in there like ceramic or stainless steel what are the best and quiet too fresh water hey you said 472.5 bearings what is the model I look on Boca I cannot find it I must be stupid how much are they for 4-5 bearings sell to me
Alde BFS is an awesome reel well, but imo this is a better pitching all around reel.. maybe won’t toss AS light, but that’s not my intended use.. Im installing boca ceramic hybrids in the worm gears and knobs.. I’ve got them in stock if needed.. 4x7x2.5.. Nitroman77@gmail.com Is my email..
Do you ever run into the collar and main gear getting caught in on the main shaft? Tackleadvisors’ breakdown of the Steez CT had that issue and I’ve run into it a couple times, I wonder why this happens

Did u use 5s or 7s for the bearings?

yup ive run into it a bit.. its just a machining Bur on the shaft.. I sand it down and good to go..
