Years ago I read the VA series and it's been my fave ever since. I recently made my best friend read them and took the chance to reread them again as well and I remembered how much I loved the series. The movie never did the books justice. I absolutely looooove Zoey but Danila just didn't fit my picture of Dimitri. (Neither did Lucy Fry fit my Lissa tbh meh.) Not saying they're super awful but I spent years imagining Ben Barnes as Dimitri and that just never went away.
I feel like the movie could've been so much more and not just a "funny" teenage highschool movie.
It's been years. And I'm still frustrated.
Also still frustrated we won't get more movies.
Anyway, MOVING ON.
I have been wanting to vid Romitri with Zoey and Ben Barnes for a while but it's always been hard to edit with Ben's movies tbh. WHO WOULD'VE THOUGHT I'D ACTUALLY FINISH THIS. I'M SO PROUD.

My absolute favorite book series! I definitely agree with you about Dimitri and Lissa in the movie. They weren’t what ai imagined but Rose was perfect!! I’d love to see this series really come to life and I love the possibility of Ben as Dimitri. I really want to read the series again because of this edit! 💕

Omg, I couldn't agree more with you! The movie they made felt like a parody. I'm okay with Zoey as Rose, altho I did have other great ideas for her, but the Dimitri they chose was a total joke to me! I always saw Ben as Dimitri as well and he should have been chosen. He's the perfect choice. I love this video, thank you for making it, made me feel sentimental.
Y E S. It did feel like a parody at times. It was just too high school-ey for my taste, even if book started out pretty teenageish. The books are so much more. I feel like they totally missed the serious and darker parts. 🙄 Who were you hoping would play Rose tho, if I may ask? And thank youuu, I felt sentimental making it too ♥️
@@Fridaydayy My top choice for Rose was always Odette, I saw her the most in the role, but I also liked idea of Lyndsy Fonseca 😊 So I would say - classics haha. Maybe one day we will live to see it with the perfect fancast
