  • This dewalt hammer came in for repair with no note or indication of what the problem was.
Turned out you could not load a chisel into the tool holder. Or rotat the tool holder.
The problem was a shamed locking sleeve inside the toolholder assembly. It was blocking the release sleeve from opening and allowing a chisel to go in and also blocked the rotation.
A quick and easy repair, with only the toolholder to dismantle and not the hammer itself. The most difficult part of this repair is getting he first c clip of and on again.

I could watch these repair videos all day. I'd love to see a video on your thoughts about Parkside power tools. I use them everyday and I've only had one or two issues. I had a wall chaser fail on the first day. Contacted Komperness and had a brand new unit delivered within a week. Also had a multi-tool with a switch problem, again had a new switch delivered within a week. They're the only problems I've had and I own pretty much every tool they have. I understand they're not "professional" tools but when you can buy a bare impact drill for €20 with a 3 year warranty, it's hard to argue that they aren't worth the gamble. They're performance range offers a 5 year warranty! I don't know any other brand that offers that kinda warranty. I just recently purchased a performance range cordless brushless sds (drill, hammer drill, hammer) for €60 with the 5 year warranty and super impressed by the quality. I think these tools deserve more recognition in terms of value for money. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks for your content, always enjoyable. Regards, Des

you are right, that year warranty and customer service is hard to beat. Especially if you only need the tool for one or 2 jobs

I agree entirely and must be even luckier than you - not one problem have I had with any of my Parkside stuff and I've pushed a few of them: the 9" angle grinder and the 1500w rotary hammer. It's beginning to look a bit like the Skoda story where the product was laughed at for years but is now given it's due credit.
Dean's reply to you was positively unbiased and, from a person with his skill and knowledge, quite encouraging with no hint of that tool snobbery which affects some channels.
Apropos of cheap tools, it would appear that Aldi have raised the white flag with regard to their Ferrex brand. Their website has hardly anything now, in the DIY section.

@@bayadere8308 I have a some Ferrex and older Workzone stuff from Aldi too, and to be fair I haven't had any issues with them. I have a Ferrex 18v circular saw and 18g nail gun which use the same battery as the older Workzone stuff which was the main reason I bought them. Use them everyday without any issues. I don't have any of their "Active Energy" range. I chose to invest in the Parkside x20v battery range instead because I've had such a good experience with them. Regardless of how some people view the brand, it's hard to knock them in terms of value for money, especially when they've a better warranty than more other brands

I would never be able to put it together again unless I positioned every piece in sequence as it came off.
He must know that tool like the back of his hand.

Nice job as always. Do you ever do any research off camera on how stuff goes back together or do you just remember how it was when you took it apart/know intuitively how it goes back together?
