I hope that we don’t have to fight 13 knights on the Vr lol. That would suck soooo much. And yeah I agree, I hope they tune down the vr stuff in the next game, both the difficulty (no more 10 rounders please and no more shadowy chains) and the amount of vr challenges. There was soooo much in this one. In terms of Aerith, I believe our timeline aerith is dead, but cloud does save aerith in another timeline. That’s what I got from the scene when cloud parried sephiroth’s sword, the clashing of the sword had rainbow effects to it, which only appears during multi-timeline situations. So my theory is that cloud does indeed save aerith in one of the timelines, but sephiroth switched the timelines. Also, I just wanted to say thank you so much again for doing the Zack mission and recording it for me again! I learnt a lot from your video, and I actually used what I learnt and used it to practice that bout several times, and I managed to beat it myself today! I was super excited ^^ Odin behaved weirdly for me though: after he did the spatial distortion thing where he splits the battle field, he just stood there for a good 10 seconds, so I stood there as cloud holding block too. Then he suddenly did temporal imprisonment and imprisoned cloud, and I didn’t have a chance to react. Luckily, Zack got a curaga off and then cloud finished Odin off with a limit + aeroga. You are amazing ^^ Looking forward to part 3 where hopefully Chadley is less obsessed with Vr hehe 😅
Yeah I would rather fight them and recruit them out in the world, it would be much cooler than just being like " cloud , I have developed a new summon materia , the legendary knights of the round" I don't want that lol. I do love the multiple worlds thing they have done in this one. It literally means they can do anything which opens it up to so many theories. Especially seeing that sephiroth is playing with cloud with Aeriths death. Awww that's no problem I'm glad I could help you with the recording 😀. I was thinking that Zack is going to be the main swordsman in ff7 part 3. We lose cloud & tifa in the life stream and Zack becomes the swordsman for a while. CID becomes like tifa which is the close quarter combat while Vincent is like Aerith. The mage that deals with lots of magic and is at a distance with his guns. Then when cloud and tifa do come back you can do what ever you want. I think they want to bridge the gap so you stay kinda connected to cloud playing through Zack. If that makes sense.
Yeah that makes sense, especially when a couple of our characters are away and trapped somewhere else. It would be cool to see Zack join our actual party for a bit. I'm still really interested to see how Vincent/cid play etc. But I'm more interested to see how they handle clouds mental break. It's gonna be insane
My theory is that Sephiroth will succeed in mergining the worlds into one, but fail to destroy it. I think merging them will sort of also "course correct" things to be as fate designed. Imagine Zack getting the Tidus treatment, and disappearing at the end of the game. Geostigma still happens, thus AC, DoC, etc. Some things have to remain. Deepground had some story bits so we have to naturally build in that direction anyway, right?

I definitely wouldn't rely solely on stuff needing to line up with AC before this ends. Remake pretty much confirmed that the Remake trilogy occurs after AC and Aerith and Sephiroth have gone back it time to "change fate". After replaying I am totally onboard with the idea that is not Aerith in the end of the game that Cloud is talking to, but Jenova. (The Cetra visions in the Temple of the Ancients pretty much walks you through how Jenova took on the faces of the dead to screw with soldiers.) And Sephiroth is screwing with Cloud to keep him from breaking and realizing she's gone. Because it's that realization and what comes after that makes him an actual threat to Sephiroth.
That's actually a good point. I think I'm still trying to keep within the canon even though we've seen so much stuff change now. I have heard some theories about that too, that would be so messed up but I'm totally here for it if they do that, especially if it's like they have Aerith trapped now after all that happened at the city of the ancients. So creepy. Honestly can't wait for part 3 it's gonna be sooo good!

I'm not so sure about this theory. Sephiroth directly implies that he's trying all worlds to one to control everything. So I think that was genuinely Aerith. In the end scene Red 13 voiced "Aerith" when she touched him. I can't see how that would be a manipulation of Jenova when Cloud has no idea of this interaction being quite far from this scene. Secondly, Zack asks cloud to save Aerith after Aeriths supposed death which would imply and Marlene claims cloud almost saves Aerith but doesn't get there. I think we see the event where he does and doesn't get there, creating another timeline. Though I think that it could be that once meteor is destroyed Zack and Aerith will not be able to join Clouds present timeline but will rekindle in their own timeline.
