    Had mine a year or so and it’s simplified my life. The Nomad A6 really is it and doesn’t need to be any more complicated.

      Agreed! It really does simplify things for me. Stay tuned, as I'm testing the Manta right now!

    sharing my 2c here for people in the comments skeptical about Gear43's take or having more tech to be tech-minimal -- IMO we use "minimalism" quite liberally these days when it doesn't have to be exactly that. I recently purchased this device since I write alot (obsessively sometimes) and I have a million journals at this point that I have to travel with because I don't have a space to lock and store them safely yet (also dont want anyone be reading them), adding to that, I love to read and have similar problem of portability of books with it, kindle paperwhite solved that issue for me. So yea, getting more tech here was a solution for me but even if the answer to what I'm looking for is not Supernote (I'm yet to try out the device) I'm 10000% sure the solution is in one of the e-ink devices that are up and coming these days.
    PS: already tried the Remarkable, the device is on it's way back rn.

    how does the kindle work on this device? .. does it work like an actually kindle and has your library and sync it too?

    • @Gear_43
      @Gear_43  6 місяців тому

      It's based on android, so I believe its nearly the exact same app you'd find on Android. It has the whole library! I'm not 100% sure on the syncing to your other devices you read on though.

    On some level I appreciate this... on another level, it's still just another screen. Trading one screen/tech for another isn't something that could justify hundreds of dollars worth of expense for me. But, to each their own.

      Its an electrophoretic display, it does not emit light , it just reflect ambient light almost like a paper. Some ereaders like the kindles also have a Front light , that is LEDs placed on the sides of the screen , not on the back like a regular LCD.

    • @Gear_43
      @Gear_43  6 місяців тому +4

      Yes, I totally get what you mean, and struggled with that too! However, considering it removes the blue light, and keeps you from constantly scrolling feeds, its a much better alternative to use.

      @@Gear_43 It doesn't even really feel like a screen, just digital paper.

    • @xiaobai7060
      @xiaobai7060 15 днів тому

      @@VladimirKostek that is the point. It is better for your eyes, you can actually see the screen when using it outside in the sunlight(can’t see my ipad screen at all even max brightness), and the battery lasts 10x as long or more(my ipad pro dies in an hour in max brightness xD). So it’s for people who want to actually use their device outside because they are outside a lot, those who want to protect their eyesight when on a digital device, and those who don’t want to worry about recharging the battery every few hours like other devices, especially when using it outside. And an added bonus, all of the parts are expandable and replaceable, and the company supports older devices, unlike android and apple. So the device will live for many years beyond a normal phone or tablet.

    So first it sucked but now you got a paid link and its great?

    • @Gear_43
      @Gear_43  6 місяців тому

      I actually use this one every day as mentioned in the video, and have also learned that telling the truth in your reviews pays dividends. Paid links is something most every product out there has, its nothing special.

    The menu IS your home screen. You can’t comprehend a simple directory tree? Really?

    • @Gear_43
      @Gear_43  3 місяці тому

      I definitely can, but its not exactly user friendly when compared to the competition. Rather than being able to access everything easily in one place, its scattered throughout the device. I really like the Nomad, and have used it a ton, but this is one drawback.
