On the other hand, most people are happy with the current design and don't want any drastic change. Myself included. One of the things that make the used iphone hold its value is that it doesn't look old even if it's 3 or 4 gen behind.

I agree however the resign will come with great growing pains. You’ll want to skip the first two iterations to get a more polished phone. This 16 pro may be the best of this style series. Definitely the most polished.

Yes, fully agree. All manufacturers should move to a two year cadence. I won't update my wife's iPhone 13 Pro Max until I can get an 18 Pro Max second hand after 19 Pro Max launches.

Had several issues with the 12 but Apple just resets and sends me away. Hope the 16 much better.

15 pro max was underwhelming. I’m definitely upgraded to the standard 16 pro this year. For the footprint and necessary tweaks.

I have the 11 pro max, and its a little sluggish loading, I think 16 pro or pro max would be a worthy upgrade. I am primarily looking at the camera features. I'd like if they can have a native 3x "zoom" lens because going 5x or more is too much zoom and you end up cropping the 1x camera? I am thinking about portraits and getting the best out of the 1x normal or zoom lenses for that "50 to 85mm equitant" focal length that we love in portraits.

@@MattTalkTech typically I do that with most of my gadgets 😅 if there’s a newest gen, I’d buy the older gen at a discount then do that again in 5-6 years. Makes it feel like you’re not spending so much for a phone.
P.S. I was coming from Iphone X that I bought in 2018 at a discount.

I have an 11 pro max right now, but my battery health is around a 73% rn. I don’t particularly care for the Apple Intelligence stuff, though I do find it interesting in usage.
Should I upgrade to the 16 pro max when it comes out or just replace the battery on my current phone and wait until the potential 17 pro max that comes out? I heard that the 17 pro models might have a smaller Dynamic Island, more like a hole punch with Face ID under the display screen. By the time fall 2025 comes around, all the Apple Intelligence features would have been rolled out and optimized/improve as well
if u just want a big upgrade from 11 pro max u could get 13-15 pro max and save a bunch of money and still have good trade in value when a bigger upgrade comes out

I currently have the iPhone 13 Pro Max but I am looking to upgrade to the new iPhone 16 pro max. Because of the updated safety features and software. And I may well upgrade to the Ultra 3 if this comes out and has a blood pressure monitor.
May also get a new iMac if a new iMac Pro is released this year. Or even a Studio.

I really had no intention to do so, but I have just got Broadband with EE. For that, EE will upgrade any contract to Unlimited. I think may be, that will give me reason. Still got iPhone 15 Pro, to upgrade to Pro Max may also be a reason.

I might consider buying the 16 pro max and use it in a two camera setup with my current 15 pro max. But the ultra wide camera will need to improve compared to the one on my 15 pro max. I will however most likely skip the next generation as I am more in need of a new 13 inch iPad as a replacement for my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. Which to buy will have to wait until after your next giveaway 😅😂

Lol, me too. The screenlight often goes dark of my 6 plus because the screen is loose from the frame. And a lot of apps don’t upgrade anymore.
I kept waiting for the SE 4 to come out, but I really can’t wait till march anymore.
Last year at this you stated the exact capacity of the 15s but they stayed pretty much the same.

I appreciate the comparison, but it really doesn't mean much to me? I haven't kept up with each iteration since I bought my iPhone 13 Pro. What would be the comparisons be like between each iteration for like the past 4-5 years since I think that's more along the lines of how often most people upgrade their phones.

I love if the 1Phone 16 pro max has 300mm equiv. Zoom. But what about all the zoom ranges between the standard lens which is about 24mm up to 300mm. That's a lot of digital zoom there. I would have liked to see 4 lenses. Keeping the 5x current lens and then adding a 300mm lens. I hope the quality of the photos is there. I also hope the pics turn out like a Dolby Vision like color space and contrast, etc. like the video mode. Right now it is a hit and miss. Sometimes the photos look great and sometime my photo like flat and lifeless. Also I hop AI can sharpen the edges of all the objects in the photos so when you zoom in there is much much sharper.

@@elinavance3476 Fun Fact: Anti-glare screen protectors do exist as well. It makes your phone way easier to see in bright conditions.

If iPhone 16 Pro Max gets 10X+ optical zoom, I am getting one! But I doudt Apple does it. Maybe in iPhone series 18 or 19.

Why do we need a redesign? Yes - it’s incremental improvements with a proven design that plays it SAFE - and people love it and will still buy it. As new technology comes out, making small changes - even incremental changes - is a continual way to improve the product.
What else are they going to innovate? The tech isn’t making huge strides without absorbing huge costs.
I am looking for an iPhone without a fancy camera prone to being damaged easily. My phones have a hard life in the field… apple need to have a shock resistant/long battery life version… all of the variants they sell are pretty much the same. I want iOS otherwise I would get a suitable android.
