She just is trying to work out how to get things back to a level that will serve until you all are able to restore or replace what you lost. She's a bit overwhelmed and just needs to share her thoughts out loud. I know she will not settle for the plastic paw paw, so don't worry. She's just trying to make a way to make things function that's all. She needs to tell her thoughts. Be patient with her. She's obviously heartbroken. It's okay for you too to be down. We aren't able to just jump in and do all the things we once could when we were younger, and going through this loss AGAIN must be hard on you. In fact, it must be downright depressing. One day at a time. Us older folks might not be able to do everything we once could, but through the years we've proved that we're tough enough to get through it and come out better on the other side. Hey Pawpaw, You might want to check and see if anyone on the hill has a dehumidifier so you can get all the moisture out of the logs on the inside of the house or anywhere else water might be hiding. Things are replaceable, lives are not. All people and animals are safe. I think it's great that you're giving the bees to Buddy and Stephanie, since it appears they lost their hives. You have a wonderful family that helped out and do what's needed. Like I said before, you just sit back and supervise. Paw Paw not to disagree with Gigi but solid wood is still better than anything and take a moment to find you a good desk. I like roll top desk so you get what you can find that you like. Plastic is not the best to fool with it breaks to easy. Just order or buy you what you need first time around. So sorry you've had to go through this again. Gene, I have told you this before but I will say it again, I so wish I could have been a part of your family! What your family has gotten done in 36 hours absolutely blows me away! I had a flood once and got 5 feet of water in my home. I know how stressful that was and I can't imagine adding animals safety on top of that! Y'all just got to work and got it done! Hi Pawpaw, when you saw and spoke with Ivan, I could hear so much joy in your voice! You’ve been through a devastating experience and now you’re headed on the upward swing. Be sure to keep lots of notes on what you did to prepare that worked and what you wished you could’ve done differently. This will probably happen again but you will be ready. With scrap wood you could build some wood boxes to put your furniture up on like sofa, chairs, mattresses to prevent loss that’s if you have enough time to put them in place. Same with Jake. But he can actually get his home raised up a few feet if he’s willing to invest in that. I’m still praying for all of you. My heart is with you.

Norma here. I’m so happy that everyone including all the animals are safe, but what a mess you’re left with. Even with all the help you have, it’s going to be a long road ahead to get everything dried out and back to normal again. Does everyone have homeowners insurance that can help a little with all these unexpected expenses? I’m going through a very difficult time in my life, but so are you guys just in very different ways. Glad you got the little goats back with their moms. Poor Ivan is never going to hear the end of this story. He disobeyed his Paw Paw, but after chewing him out, he still deserves some treats. You’re just a big old softie and he knows it. Prayers for strength to get through all this massive cleanup. I always remember hearing this from Mr Rogers - whenever a disaster strikes, look for the helpers. Well, you have an abundance of helpers. Praise God.

PawPaw when we flooded,I was told not to try to open my drawers. It was solid wood, so naturally it swelled, so I let it sit in the sun until we got it to a restoration shop. It was an antique that was my great grandmothers so I wanted to save it. They put it in a dehydration room, and it was only a couple hundred dollars to get it back to normal. I had two pieces, but lost one because i forced the drawers before I found out to let it alone. My great grandma 4-poster bed was also restored. I am so happy that although we lost everything, Pictures, movies of children, all furniture as we had 5-feet of water, I still have these two family heirlooms to enjoy. Furniture was so well made way back in the older times. 🙏❤

New furniture is horrible but you can find people selling good stuff cheap just because it needs to be repainted. Those clear storage things are handy for some things but they bend an aren’t the sturdiest. I’d rather paint something solid wood. I agree you will pull those drawers out everytime. Gi is just over the flooding and the loss of her things and I can’t blame her. Love yall so much ❤ Hang in there, you have one hell of a family there to help ❤🙏

I am with Gigi the new furniture is not solid wood. I needed new dining room chairs and could only find expensive junk. Ended up have my old chairs reupholstered. I feel so sorry for you guys but you have a wonderful family to help you get through this.

The plastic drawers are ok for small light items. You can’t over load them, because they won’t open easily. I can understand what GiGi is getting . …… When you keep having floods and you’re having to constantly replace things it gets very costly……Sure she will be replacing her tanning bed sooner than later…… Love you all. GIGI my heart broke for you i lost my things in my home last year to mould and flood its horrible . And i agree today furniture is yuck but i got metal frame with cloth drawers. Keep smiling Gigi ❤❤
I agree with Gigi they don’t make furniture like they use to. Seems like any time I buy furniture now it don’t last but maybe 2-3 years and ya pay an arm and leg for it.

Starting in 2025 Texas won't require an inspection for passenger vehicles, so even more reason not to worry about yours. There's been so much rain in areas of Texas and tornadoes, hail storms, etc. so you were very lucky to not gotten even more damage. Brighter days ahead!
I’m so sorry for the water damage and loss of things , but praise God everyone and all the babies are ok and that’s most important ! I know it’s depressing pawpaw but just do a little at a time , and I’m sure everyone will pull together to make sure your home gets fixed and back together soon !! Please keep your finger wrapped and clean you don’t want to get an infection in it a bone infection can become serious and hard to heal , so please becareful with that surgery site ! Gigi can use Kins tanning bed I’m sure Kim won’t mind her using it ! And I agree plastic wouldn’t be my choice either , I like real wood !! Get some rest pawpaw and don’t try to do to much at one time ! Hey Pawpaw, You might want to check and see if anyone on the hill has a dehumidifier so you can get all the moisture out of the logs on the inside of the house or anywhere else water might be hiding. If no one has one, I believe Lowe's or Home Depot might rent them. We were happy seeing all the help the kids and grandkids are giving you. ❤... Vicki and Jim C.

Paw Paw not to disagree with Gigi but solid wood is still better than anything and take a moment to find you a good desk. I like roll top desk so you get what you can find that you like. Plastic is not the best to fool with it breaks to easy. Just order or buy you what you need first time around. So sorry you've had to go through this again. Gene, I have told you this before but I will say it again, I so wish I could have been a part of your family! What your family has gotten done in 36 hours absolutely blows me away! I had a flood once and got 5 feet of water in my home. I know how stressful that was and I can't imagine adding animals safety on top of that! Y'all just got to work and got it done! Hi Pawpaw, when you saw and spoke with Ivan, I could hear so much joy in your voice! You’ve been through a devastating experience and now you’re headed on the upward swing. Be sure to keep lots of notes on what you did to prepare that worked and what you wished you could’ve done differently. This will probably happen again but you will be ready. With scrap wood you could build some wood boxes to put your furniture up on like sofa, chairs, mattresses to prevent loss that’s if you have enough time to put them in place. Same with Jake. But he can actually get his home raised up a few feet if he’s willing to invest in that. I’m still praying for all of you. My heart is with you.

I’m so happy that everyone including all the animals are safe, but what a mess you’re left with. Even with all the help you have, it’s going to be a long road ahead to get everything dried out and back to normal again. Does everyone have homeowners insurance that can help a little with all these unexpected expenses?

Glad you got the little goats back with their moms. Poor Ivan is never going to hear the end of this story. He disobeyed his Paw Paw, but after chewing him out, he still deserves some treats. You’re just a big old softie and he knows it. Prayers for strength to get through all this massive cleanup. I always remember hearing this from Mr Rogers - whenever a disaster strikes, look for the helpers. Well, you have an abundance of helpers. Praise God.

PawPaw when we flooded,I was told not to try to open my drawers. It was solid wood, so naturally it swelled, so I let it sit in the sun until we got it to a restoration shop. It was an antique that was my great grandmothers so I wanted to save it. They put it in a dehydration room, and it was only a couple hundred dollars to get it back to normal. I had two pieces, but lost one because i forced the drawers before I found out to let it alone. My great grandma 4-poster bed was also restored. I am so happy that although we lost everything, Pictures, movies of children, all furniture as we had 5-feet of water, I still have these two family heirlooms to enjoy. Furniture was so well made way back in the older times. 🙏❤

New furniture is horrible but you can find people selling good stuff cheap just because it needs to be repainted. Those clear storage things are handy for some things but they bend an aren’t the sturdiest. I’d rather paint something solid wood. I agree you will pull those drawers out everytime. Gi is just over the flooding and the loss of her things and I can’t blame her. Love yall so much ❤ Hang in there, you have one hell of a family there to help ❤🙏

I am with Gigi the new furniture is not solid wood. I needed new dining room chairs and could only find expensive junk. Ended up have my old chairs reupholstered. I feel so sorry for you guys but you have a wonderful family to help you get through this.

The plastic drawers are ok for small light items. You can’t over load them, because they won’t open easily. I can understand what GiGi is getting . …… When you keep having floods and you’re having to constantly replace things it gets very costly……Sure she will be replacing her tanning bed sooner than later…… Love you all. Starting in 2025 Texas won't require an inspection for passenger vehicles, so even more reason not to worry about yours. There's been so much rain in areas of Texas and tornadoes, hail storms, etc. so you were very lucky to not gotten even more damage. Brighter days ahead!

I’m so sorry for the water damage and loss of things , but praise God everyone and all the babies are ok and that’s most important ! I know it’s depressing pawpaw but just do a little at a time , and I’m sure everyone will pull together to make sure your home gets fixed and back together soon !! Please keep your finger wrapped and clean you don’t want to get an infection in it a bone infection can become serious and hard to heal , so please becareful with that surgery site ! Gigi can use Kins tanning bed I’m sure Kim won’t mind her using it ! And I agree plastic wouldn’t be my choice either , I like real wood !! Get some rest pawpaw and don’t try to do to much at one time ! Please know you and the whole family are loved and in our prayers , God has protected everything important and that is all the family and all the babies !! Paw Paw I was worried how GiGi was doing it's overwhelming I was her in 2008 I agree with her because I did those plastic drawers to stay organized while in the rebuild process, I didn't want to rush to get something I couldn't take time to pick out🥰 It's heartbreaking watching you go through this for me it's like visiting my own PTSD from my flood here in 2008 but know I am here cheering your family on I was Blessed with my family recovering I couldn't of done it without them just remember there is a rainbow in this and I am praying it's delivered soon to you all God Bless sending strength and healing you've got your calvary of troops and a whole lot of Love.
