I’m a 65 year old scot who identifies with this song. As a teen this took me to a medieval place that shook me and as an old man it still has the same affect.
Thanks,I had never heard this song before. I saw them perform in the 70's when they were promoting Aqualung, then stopped following them after buying the Thick As A Brick vinyl. I'm going back through all of your reviews now as I noticed you have the most extensive, varied, and classic catalog of reviews. No other reviewer I've seen can compare to you! Thanks for being so unique; I'm excited to continue through your reviews.
ALL Jethro Tull albums are worth a good listen, as you will find nuggets of gold on each and every one of them. Ian Anderson is a genius. No-one comes close to him as a poet and lyricist, or as a stage performer, musician, and composer. The Mozart of our age.
Time to get into some acoustic Tull. Please react to Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day…. You won’t be disappointed. Classic, fantastic stuff like only JT can deliver.
Here's some more great 80s songs from Tull: Black Sunday from the "A" album, Heat from "Under Wraps", Farm on the Freeway from "Crest of a Knave", The Whaler's Dues from "Rock Island". There's a start at least. Lol
Robert E Howard (the Conan creature) wrote a short story "The Grey God Passes" about the a battle between the pagan Vikings and the Christian Irish and how its outcome decides Odin's relevance. This track could have been written for it.
Songs From The Wood and Skating Away On The Thin Ice of A New Day are two JT songs worth giving a listen/review to. My other suggestion is Crown of Creation by Jefferson Airplane.
@@apocketfulofheep Since you enjoyed Lather, I'd suggest you try Wooden Ships off of Jefferson Airplane's Volunteers album. It's very different than Lather but really an excellent track.
since you liked this song you should check out on your free time a cover from the finnish metal band Turisas (my 2nd favorite band after JT, which also has my favorite singer), it has such a clearer and i wanna say better sound and feel to it and as much as i love the original, its one of the few covers i actually prefer over the original(also i would love to see turisas reactions in general). Anyways my jethro tull suggestions for the channel are basicly any song from the albums Crest of a Knave or Rock Island (both late 80s songs) i saw that people suggested farm on the freeway which is amazing and i would also suggest Budapest or Whalers Dues
Personally I'd say there are a couple really good songs on BATB(like this one), but as a whole Crest of a Knave is a much better album than BATB is. To each their own.
Ok album but i prefer the Crest of a knave album Farm on the Freeway is a great track carry on with your great reactions the best reactions on youtube by far 👍
You picked a good one from a very hit or miss record - here the keys work, in other tracks of this one they sound terrible, there a some gems on all of theire records - If you want´t to get deeper in the 80´s maybe "Ears of Tin" from the underrated Rock Island or "Farm on The Freeway " of Crest of a Knave - or maybe something from the 90s ? "Rocks On The Road" from Catfish Rising or "Another Harry´s Bar" from Roots to Branches

It's got a Viking/Celtic vibe.
One of my favourite tracks by Tull
Their best 1980's album.
A great song to check out which has rarely been reacted to is, Baker Street Mues, from the Minstrel in the Gallery album.
Remember getting album when it came out. Classic 👍

I am glad you enjoy the reviews. I have a blast making them.

This album is a Tull favorite ... and Heavy Horses
... and also "Songs from the Wood" or "Thick as a Brick" ...
from the same album, listen to: seal driver. I hope you will accept some of my suggestions
The guitar solo in Seal Driver is the highlight of the album for me.
This was an early favorite album of mine. Flying Colours is also a great song.
I will check that song out

Fantastic song🎼🎶🎶🎵🎵❤️🎧🌈
Alright! Grooving!
Check out Beastie and The Clasp as well, actually, they are all good ...

Thank you for the suggestions I did like lather from Jefferson Airplane
@@apocketfulofheep Crown of Creation is the full band with Grace/Paul/Marty on vocals.

Honestly, you should check out Down at the End of Your Road from this album.
Classi early 80's Tull, before they went with a more modern sound on the follow up album 'Under Wraps'.
In my opinion this album is by far the last very good work of the band. There are actually good tracks in albums ahead but as a whole I prefer BATB.
Personally I'd say there are a couple really good songs on BATB(like this one), but as a whole Crest of a Knave is a much better album than BATB is. To each their own.
@@DShiflet01 I think there was some really good stuff on Roots to Branches too.
@@martinhayward4466 Ahh well, I thought Roots to Branches was absolutely terrible.

Rocks on the Road is a favorite and it is also a rather unusual track.
