Zinda Bhaag (Run for Your Life)

A decade has passed since the release of our film Zinda Bhaag in 2013, hailed as a groundbreaking work for illegal immigration. The film is itself inspired by a news story written by our producer Mazhar Zaidi about a shipwreck off the coast of Greece in 1995. For decades, the lifeless bodies of young men, drowned or shot, have returned to villages in Pakistan, a tragic unfolding that persists. Despite the hope that this tide would recede with time, it has instead surged, evident in the tragic sinking of a boat off the Greek coast in 2023, claiming the lives of over a hundred Pakistani men and women. Zinda Bhaag doesn't claim to offer solutions to the haunting questions surrounding illegal immigration. Rather, it serves as a mirror, reflecting the stories of those who risk their lives for an imagined future.
