Awesome to watch when going through my MEIR training

Great. That’s the reason I make these. I remember searching for good local content when I was going through my IR. Of course I’m not an instructor so please check with the experts!

What a plane! Well shot, I look forward to your channel blowing up. I hope one day you get the engineering paper for a gopro under the wing.
We need more local aviation content! Personally, I miss YSBK operation on 18/36 back when she was buzzing with activity.

Thanks very much! Yes I’d love to get a 360 camera mounted on the wing. I need to ask maintenance about how I get that done. I would have found this very useful when doing my training in Sydney. Things like radio calls, etc.

Another great video Steve. Certainly racking up some Baron time! I too hate that YSCN doesn't have the PAL announcement when trying to activate it. Being in a black hole it's not too hard to spot at night once well dark, but definitely not easy just before dark. Would have loved to see the approach in to YSDU, I've done it before NVFR. Again thanks for the trouble to make the video and share.

Thanks! Yeah I find the PAL without audio acknowledgment just unnecessary stress! I did the DGA into DU with circling followed by night circuits. You really have to trust the instruments doing night circuits in very dark places!!

@@diamondairtaxis Very true about the black hole effect out there at night when facing away from the town, instruments are your friend!

Used to fly a c210 out of Bankstown in mid 90s Do they still use that VFR corridor with the strobe lights on Hornsby rail depot? Great videos.

@@diamondairtaxis I loved that Pink book with the white plastic binder rings That had ever Airport layout in the country.... Nothing like that in the US.

How do you find Foreflight in Australia? How well does it compare against OZrunways or AvPlan? Have you used any of the VFR features on the app yet? Thanks!

I previously used Avplan. I much prefer ForeFlight. I love the way it tells you cloud bases and tops and shows the icing layers. It works well in Australia. You can still use the Australian charts if you want. It integrates checklists which are pre built for common aircraft. I’ve used it flying VFR and works fine. Seems to have the VFR waypoints and VFR charts. It does all the performance calculations also - TO / LDG distances required, W&B, and has excellent OEI data. Tells you the preferred runway based on current wind data, etc. it’s great!

Really interesting video... I could have watched so much more if your volume levels were not so insane. That music was so loud, it blew my ear drums out every time. Learn a little about "levels".... otherwise, a great video!

Fair point! I knew the levels weren’t right but ran out of time with the editing! I’ll try harder next time!!
