Hey can someone answer a question or two for me, I'm currently at college and the dorm wifi doesn't allow my ps4 to connect I think it's something about UPnP so I was looking for a substitute and found this. First question is would this work for ps4 I saw in comments that it worked for Xbox one. Second, once I purchase this what do I do next, will I have to go to Metro Pcs and ask for an unlimited data sim card? Third if I do purchase a sim card after I insert the card to the router does it take it from there, will it work without further steps? Really trying to watch what I purchase mostly because I dont want to spend 200+ on a router that doesn't work.
I want to cut cable+ internet subscription for this (living in a 1 bedroom condo.. This is possible, correct? Anyone here with real experience? Cheers!
The review is a little misleading. Whether or not you get unlimited data un-throttled has nothing to do with the router, but with the provider. If you connect this to a network who's provider doesn't allow unlimited data or feels you are abusing your data usage, they can very well throttle you, or even worse cancel you. I have friends who use this very router to IRL stream, and on a regular basis they have to buy new sim cards because the upstream provider cancels their sims due to network usage.
lewelly2 I use At&T. I have a plan that was grandfathered in last year that is no longer sold to the public where I have completely unlimited data but they can throttle my speed after 22gb of use per month but only if there is a lot of network congestion. But, I live in a rural area and that RARELY ever happens and if it does it’s only during the middle of the day during the work week. At night time it never happens. Like right now I have 8 days left until my monthly cycle of data resets back to zero and I’m currently at 187gb used for this moth! Also, even though I have used 187gb of data so far I am getting about 80-90mbps of download speed. Like I said earlier during the day if they do throttle me which again RARELY happens to me and only during the work week it goes from 80-90mbps to about 25-30mbps until about 5:30pm then it shoots back up to 80-90mbps. If I were you I would get the Verizon plan which every person has recommended to me even a customer service representative for At&t told me to use the Verizon unlimited plan because it’s WAY BETTER! He was a gamer as well and he said that was the best service to use with it. Hope this helps!!

We are looking for a mobile solution while travelling through Canada, US and a 5 month stay in Mexico. So it sounds like all I have to do is change SIM cards for different providers in that particular country, is that correct?
$60 a month? I pay $5 a month with Verizon and get 50 gb a month before it throttles down. And it doesnt really throttle down. It stays above 20 mbs when its throttled.
- Is this only 3G & 4G? I have unlimited 2G with 1Gb of 4G. Would I lose service when it switches to 2G? - I only need this for occasional, temporary use. Could I just pull the SIM card from my phone or do I need a separate card/plan?
Really great question. I saw someone wrote that they just bought an additional unlimited phone line but used that Sim card for this device. I wish there was more information about this method.
Is your main carrier T-Mobile yet? I feel like it's been At&t forever and many people who comment on your videos urge you to switch, including me. I switched from Verizon to T-MOBILE about 6 months ago and it's been SUPPPPPER worth it, for cheaper! (Although I do understand for smaller towns, Verizon would be better. But you live in LV so you should switch.)
I want to switch away from Verizon to Tmobile very badly, but T-mobiles coverage in my VERY rural area still needs work (although it has improved from nearly nothing to not bad in a few short years). I might be able to use this hot spot as a home internet solution as broadband isn't offered where I live. I'll need to retest T-mobile service again out here... I'm sick of Verizon throttling my tethering (THAT I PAY EXTRA FOR) !!
George Daniel do not use wirelessbuy. We just got cancelled and disconnected for no reason. Probably used more data than they wanted us to. No warning just shut down
Unless you are on the right plan. You are just reading what the regular plans say and by regular I mean the limited 22GB per month plan. T-Mobile has a separate plan for truely unlimited 4G LTE within the United States and it doesn't throttle. I know I have it myself and ordered it straight from t-mobile I didn't go through another website. I've been using t-mobile for almost 2 years now.
@@jamesstubbs8954 is this like what I've read in other comments? I've seen that people bought an additional, unlimited phone line and inserted that SIM and just used the line for the data only. Is this what you did?
Did you ever get a response back here regarding your question (does it work in northern Canada)? ... I just put up a long post but not sure anyone will respond and I'm getting really desperate.
@@theroadrunnerc.9040 No. But I think I've figured out myself. This unit requires a signal tower, if there is no signal tower around, they should not be working. This is not a satellite thing.
I got one and it worked for one month. Then At&T, and Cricket blocked it. It does zero now. Not even throttled. The same sim card works in my phone without buffering any videos on my phone.
I've been using a Samsung Hotspot which manifested uneven data speeds with T-Mobile often having the uploads higher than the downloads. The most I could get out of it was a jump to around 30 Mbits or less on the download, I then swithched to the M1 and on the same area where I would get less than 15 Mbits I got 72 Mbits with the M1. Definitely worth it! By the way, the measurement was made using an iPhone 7 Plus connected to the 5 GHz WIFI on the M1.
I just switched from shitty AT&T to T-Mobile and I am Walking ON SUN FUCKING SHINE for real... I am so happy with T-Mobile that I've already forgotten all the drama I had with AT&T... When they say no Throttling or slow downs they really mean it. I pay an extra 50 bucks a month for 4G Unlimited Hotspot that can reach upwards of 100 Mbps but typically almost always over 20 and averages around 50 to 70 Mbps according to Speakeasy.net/speedtest. My plan has unlimited 4g LTE on my phone but I also have it for my Hotspot too. Without it the Hotspot is only like 15GBs a month and I can use that much in a few hours. T-Mobile is on the right track to being Number 1; I just hope being there does not go to their heads they way it has for Verizon and shitty AT&T... Cheers... Edit: I also have the Galaxy Tab S4 and it is also unlimited 4G LTE and the Hotspot is also unlimited but at a robust and usable 3G. Granted it's not 4G LTE but it's unlimited and usable as I tested it on UA-cam Video's just for fun and they played with a bit of occasional buffering. Needless to say T-Mobile's Unlimited 3G Hotspot is far superior to AT&T's 4G alleged LTE.
Not true , I have T mobile 100GB plan and once you hit that you WILL be throttled because your SIM is connected to your ISP, there is no truly unlimited data without changing apns and various other settings ! Good reveiw but false information
Yesterday, I got a Coolpad Surf from Boost. My old hotspot had died. But OMG this thing is a total piece of crap! It connects to email services and youtube but that's IT. No bank, no search engines, it won't connect to Amazon, for god's sake! I live in the heart of New York City! I'm getting one of these Netgear ones because my old hotspot was a Netgear and it was pretty good. I don't care WHAT it costs! Thank you so much for this video and folks, please DO NOT BUY a Coolpad!
Your claim of unlimited data with no throttling is FALSE. I just got off the phone with WirelessBuy and I was told that after 50gb I am subjected to tower deprioritization like with every other wireless carrier. If you have factual data, not anecdotal like "I never knew anyone who was throttled", please present it. You are flying directly into the wind with what the actual company told me today at 2:40 EST. Show me some document somewhere from WirelessBuy or T-Mobile that says "If you use this router will not be throttled" and I will buy this right now. I don't want to make a lateral move. I have Verizon now and they subject me to throttling at 50gb. Now, do they ALWAYS throttle me? Nope. It depends on how busy the tower is. But for you to make the claim that this is NEVER throttled is incorrect. Please do prove me wrong.
Deprioritization and throttling are very different my friend. Throttling is a hard limit on data at which your bandwidth is cut to near dial up speed when you reach your limit. Deprioritization is where once you reach your data "limit" you may be slowed down during times of high user load on the tower. For me... in the middle of nowhere... the deprioritization never comes into effect since there is never a high user load on the cell tower. I have used 2Tb+ in a month and never experienced any slow downs in my speed. This of course wouldnt be the case in an urban setting but out here in the sticks it's not an issue. Not throwing shade just pointing out the terms throttling and deprioritization are not interchangeable.
A very ‘meh’ review. You didn’t talk about stability of connection when multiple devices connected. You also didn’t do any speed tests. Which means you didn’t demonstrate it’s effectiveness or practical application. Your presentation was excellent and delivery easy to listen to. The quality of your video here is great, clear step by step in your own procedure, which made it easy to follow. Just wish you reviewed its effectiveness. Or even mentioned it’s effectiveness.

@@jamesstubbs8954 Yes..although it is Easy to locate the tower and thus know its direction
"Verify your business" is required for Wirelessbuy. I don't guess you can get it without proof of your business?
George Daniel do not use wirelessbuy. We just got cancelled and disconnected for no reason. Probably used more data than they wanted us to. No warning just shut down
Rhonda Lampton what should we use
This is throttled after 50gb, go read their website
What plan is it on?
@@That_Dude88 unlimited t mobile plan resold
@Matt David elaborate please how it works for You
Unless you are on the right plan.
Why am I getting a "Returned Error" when trying to save my post below? Did it go through?
Does this work in extremely remote areas? Such as northern Canada, close to the arctic without human developments.
This is not a satellite thing.
hold on... did you just say $69 a month???!! is that on top of the cost of the thing itself!!???
I have a question can you turn off Wi-Fi remotely with this device?
Does this router supports IPv6? I cant game on my current hotspot since it doesnt support IPv6
This changed my home life! Fantastic internet speed!
Hi, can you provide me info on plans on this router and is it actually unlimited?
Does it support any sim?
Highly interested. Is this device still good to go for unlimited data?
Okay will this work with my carrier that throttles the data, in a village of Alaska
Mine doesn’t work... at all. Waist of 300 euros.
No one has unlimited data :/
Are you able to use cricket?
I got one and it worked for one month. Then At&T, and Cricket blocked it. It does zero now. Not even throttled. The same sim card works in my phone without buffering any videos on my phone.
I’m Just trying to play cod without lagging 😅
Did the price on this guy go up by $100? I see it for $329
Hi, I am just wondering if the number of device showed are always correct. I should have only 2 connected but the routers shows 4 at times 5
And if you use exturnal antennas ( especially setting it up with 4 such antennas...) thrn you would get even better signal and faster speeds
I love this wifi I take it everywhere🌌
why cant i buy this anymore ? MR1100 isn't what you show
Can I use it for streaming on UA-cam my upload speed sucks
would this have faster and better connection than a default hotspot on a phone?
would it?
Cheers...
Edit:
I also have the Galaxy Tab S4 and it is also unlimited 4G LTE and the Hotspot is also unlimited but at a robust and usable 3G.
Anyone knows what is the name of the T-Mobile plan he is using? How do I find it? I would like to get the price
I wonder how you change IP address of your hotspot?
What service plan for unlimited data?
Can you link the SIM card you bought? Is it pre-paid?
A very ‘meh’ review. You didn’t talk about stability of connection when multiple devices connected. You also didn’t do any speed tests. Which means you didn’t demonstrate it’s effectiveness or practical application. Your presentation was excellent and delivery easy to listen to. The quality of your video here is great, clear step by step in your own procedure, which made it easy to follow. Just wish you reviewed its effectiveness. Or even mentioned it’s effectiveness.
that wirelessbuy page is sketchy as fuck
هل يشتغل عليه خط Stc الكويت ؟
Can you please elaborate on the plan you're using? I went to T-Mobile today and didn't see which one would give these benefits inexpensively.
Can you power a usb camera to the thing?
Can yo use this to operate a camera in your vehicle
Thank you so much this video was so helpful
Is it encrypted
What's the latency like on one of these?
I just bought the EU version, UK, and I am getting 3x better Up and Down.
This is advertising, not a test. I need a test, comparing this to other 4G routers and ordinary phones set up as a 4G router.
Useless video!
No one cares about ur opinion piece of crap.
Wasn't useless for me.
Can it be setup/configured from a standard computer or does it require a silly smart-phone ?
Got it... Most important information for me IS: 1) The Cost of the Travel Net Gear device... 2) It does take a Service Plan and MONTHLY COST of plan!!!!!!
3) 5G, I am going w AT&T...
Thank you... Much appreciated...
Hello! I have a question. I'm planning on buying the nighthawk but I'm unsure of what plan or exactly how to set the device/SIM up. I see you said AT&T 5G plan, but I'm unable to find which one, as well as if you're throttled, what is your speed? Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience
Would this work if I tried going with MetroPcs?
I'm really in need of something like this.
$220 is out of stock (been that way for months according to other comments). I can't find one for under $349 (Best Buy). I just bought from NEATGEAR.com $371 total (M1 is a few years old). I heard the M2 is avail but I can't find one in the US. Seems like a price gouge to go with the RV boom.
There is no unlimited data on that page
can you use this with cricket wireless? Also i have the m1 nighthawk as well but it looks different mine looks more blue on screen while yours looks purple and yellow is that a newer version??
I have unlimited 4g on my phone tmobile if I insert sim card from phone to nighthawk will it transfer the unlimited 4g to the nighthawk how does that work???
dont get the tmobile plan. att is faster. got both tmobile barely pushes 480p vids n is more expensive. att $35mo tmobile $80mo
I am from Canada...
How are you getting unlimited data?
T-Mobile is in the States, so I cant use that here, so what do I do to get unlimited data?
What is NO Throttleing
Hey, I have DSL where I live, I can’t get fiber or anything better, it absolutely sucks. Buying the nighthawk m1 with my unlimited AT&T data plan and using it on my gaming console (ps4) WITH a LAN cable plugged straight for the nighthawk into my console will give me a good connection little to no lag with a good download speed?
Does this steel work or no I have t mobile
Hey guys great info. I've had t-mobile service for over 10 years, currently on unlimited data for all my phones. Have 4GB of hotspot data, then drops to 2-3G unlimited. Do I understand this correctly, I can add another phone line for $10/mo (my plan) and use this device as the extra line? I also have T-mobile home internet available for $50/mo unlimited service now available. Any thoughts? Thx
Can I use it in the Philippines?
yes. i use it in barili cebu and out of box beats globe standard home wifi router even with antenna! no antenna and beats using globe with antenna!
Why doesn't anybody talk about the 2 TS9 antenna connection ports on the front? The 2 black things on either side of the front are not just cosmetic plugs!
Hey the only internet I can get is 10 mbps. Do you think this will be faster?
Will Verizon ever be able to support this? I’d rather not have to go through the hassle of unlocking my phone so I can use the T-Mobile Sim card
Does this work in Japan?
You say unlimited 4G LTE, but what provider do you use and what service plan do you have. Because I just called T-Mobile and they said it was 4G LTE was 22GB for $85, and when that runs out it drops to 2G
WTTFFFF that's hot gaaarbaage!!!
Working on saudi and philippines?
Can i use my phone sim card.?
I have one question about the device. Does the signal strength vary with the location of the device
