Just discovered salad spinner art and was blown away. Then I saw these and I'm amazed. Can't wait to get started, and my grandchildren are going to love it
In the 70s, I had a toy that worked on the same principle...can't remember what it was called but it was fantastic.....think it was from the makers of spirograph........great video!!....thanks so much for reigniting my fire!!!!!!
+Katie Goodale That's what I thought. I've had a go at quite a few marbling techniques now, and this produces the best marbling results by a long shot! I'm so proud of him ☺️
Great video It's always wonderful when we can work with our kids and they have such great ideas. This makes me want to buy a salad spinner now!!! The papers all came out great Thanks !! Diane. xx
I wish I had seen this video the other day when I was in a charity shop and saw three salad spinners the next time I visit a shop I will be getting one that's for sure. Thank you for sharing this brilliant video and I have so many ideas to try out now with my daughter who loves crafts as much as I do xxxxxx
+María Jesús Lema Rodríguez Thanks so much for your kind comment Maria. As you can tell from the fluffy dressing gown, this was a completely impromptu video, as the technique was too much fun not to share 😊
Really gordious papers! I bought a paint spinner also a lot of beautiful papers, but yes more water is better as the paint can move better! The water spraybottle is a great idea to use. I will try that! Tfs
Wow, these are super marvelous, so pretty! You tell Sam he's a genius! Would love to see him helping in more videos! Thanks to you both for the inspiration, hugs, Debra
My 16 year old grandson loved working on some crafty things with me. He was always my helper with my electronic cutting machines. Unfortunately they moved about 18 hours away so I don't have him with me on a regular basis! I surely miss those times. It looks like you both had such a great time together!! Loved those paper prints!!
+Kat F Thanks so much Kat. I was actually feeling really sad on this day and this was Sam's way of snapping me out of it. Glad to say it worked! I love creating art with my kids. Even my 19 year old likes to play when he's home from Uni 😊
It's wonderful to share that. I even remember when I was in elementary school my mother helping me with a project that was basically a craft project. I know that my kids and grandkids know how much fun creating with each other is. Obviously, your Sam knows his mother very well and loves you very much. I'm glad this was a good day for you both. :)
Right.....I can't take this anymore!! 😊😊I am a card maker with inks, stamps, dies etc etc. I have watched quite a few of your older posts, (starting from the beginning) as I don't want to miss anything, and the more I watch the more I want to join in and play!! So I am about to go out and get some supplies, hope I can find what I need!! Thank you Nina and Sam, your technique has produced some stunning patterns, and I can't wait to watch your next video to see what you do with them.
+Helen Tucker Now that you have some acrylics, you will be able to use your inks and stamps to add more layers over the dry paint. Your wonderful card and embellishments arrived this morning, so I can't wait to see what you create with your new supplies. You are VERY talented. Thank you so much! ☺ xx
+ZeeCee Creations Aww, thanks so much Marsha. We had a blast! I'm completely out of card now and can't wait to get my hands on some more so we can play again!!! Hugs, Nina xxx
Nina, I got myself a salad spinner yesterday and I made my first one of these today, and the results are gorgeous! I found a yellow paint at Walmart that had glitter in it and WOW!! I used blues, purples, red, white and that yellow. I'm in love... :) I think I'm going to make a series of them and use them in an art piece. Thank you so much and thank Sam for helping! :)
Okay, I've been playing some more this afternoon and if you want to keep the inside of your salad spinner fairly clean and make clean up easier put press and seal on it, then after you spin you can just discard the mess.. of course you still have to wash the basket... :)
love it love it love it ... no messy shaving cream. i can get beautiful marbling this way and no mess. thank you. and i wish more kids would get in involved. keep up the good work. ..
