Mine too!A masdive fan since my childhood in the eighties and still at forty five I think Christopher Reeve was so loveky and brilliant as Supernan and his alternative ego Clark Kent. I was really saddened when reading of his death and he was my childhood hero. It was SO tragic, what happened to the only Lois Lane, as in beautiful Margot Kidder here, is the best and my favourite Lois Ljǰ. I read she'd been in a serious accident and suffered mental health problems, and that she ever so sadly committed suicide. These two both had serious life changing accidents, it's so sad because they were SO brilliant, so charismatic, and incredibly gifted. Their onscreen chemistry came through the screen in to our living rooms in the eighties and Lois Lane played by Margot Kidder, was born to play this role and I loved her and nobody else has come close.
When Superman tricked them with the power-sapping machine, why didn't the Kryptonian Kriminals get smart white blouses and trousers like he did the first time? 😁
@@devincampbell5007 Not to be too nerdy, but that version of Superman used regular Kryptonian cloth from his ship that Ma Kent turned into the suit, the same type of cloth the Criminals had. Only in Superman Returns and the Henry Cavil ones was the suit made by the Fortress or the Ship. But I don't mean to be serious, I was just making a little fun at the clothing switch.
I’d forgotten how great this was shot… your edit really brought me back to seeing it like I saw it when I was a kid… not knowing what was going to come next… that was fucking cool. Thank you!
If this took place in the Monsterverse, Zod would have to deal with a very pissed off giant nuke breathing lizard. Who is probably just as invincible as he is.
You may think I'm insane, and you have that right. But I believe their will always be a specific individual(s) that are more in strenght then an average human being in all realms of life and/or death.
Still so cool to watch. I'm still in awe, watching the whole clip. Amazing bit of cinematography. The clip @ 5:49 when Superman talks to his dead ancestors for advice. This could be a glimpse of our future with AI....... Fascinating.
It's funny that so many people complained that things were always going wrong in order to get Henry cavill's Superman on screen to do something when watching these movies from the '80s the exact same thing was happening.
Stiam ca o cheama Ursa nu Usra pe femeie! Daca ne gandim bine la constelatia ,,Ursa Mare" nu ,,Usra Mare" sau ,,Carul Mare" cum i se mai spune pe la noi!?😮
So he killed them? Hmmm, we were less bull crap in the 80s I guess, less sensitive. I remember the outrage when Superman snapped Zods neck in Man of Steel. He literally crushed this dudes hand then dropped him threw him across the room and watched him and his crew fall into some frozen abyss to freeze to death after probably having all their bones broken because of the impact after they fell. As a kid I thought, cool good for them…but I never thought of Superman as a killer….or Lois Lane too, she dropped old short hair like Leonidas in 300…I gotta rewatch all these now to see if there was any other messed up stuff we were numb to back in the day….
Don't misunderstand what I am about to say as I like Christopher's portrayal of the Man Of Steel. But, watch the first couple of minutes of this video and see if you see what I noticed. Superman's strength in basically incalculable. He should have actually ripped off the whole top of the car, and yet watch as he momentarily struggles to pull off the sun roof! Technically, he should have been able to remove it with two fingers.
That is because this is "Silver Age" Superman. His power was pretty much whatever the writer wanted it to be back then. It wasn't until the mid-80's that he changed.
yea.. as a kid I loved this movie, still do.. but now I also have a problem with that whole battle too.. Plastic shield toss, laser fingers, invisiblility. A little too much poetic license for me in this film versus the comics. In spite of it's still a great film.

Just the fact that Jack O'Halleran looks like a monster and could actually kill you with his bare hands in real life as a pro boxer.
You’ll see in full body shots, he’s wearing boots with a 3-inch lifted sole for added height though.

In hero and the terror, he played a great killer.
He's the best superman for me. But due to limited resources for 80s effects, superman seems handicapped here.

Why couldn’t they just open the car door? The reason why you can’t open a car door underwater is because of the water pressure outside the car.
