    Am American (from Michigan). I would call the aforementioned gherkin a pickle, though “gherkin” might refer to a particular variety. We can also buy pre-chopped pickled cucumbers sold as “relish” - the most common is “sweet relish” although I’ve seen “dill relish” which has a more savo(u)ry flavo(u)r. The size of the chunks in relish is the same size to which you cut your pickle.

    It's a YES from me! I love the concept of this video and how well-made it is. Not to mention the recipe itself, of course (I will definitely be trying this sauce!). Add your humour to the mix and you get a perfect cooking show, if you ask me 👌 Keep it up!

      Thanks Hanna!! So glad to hear you enjoyed it! The nice thing about this is the sauce can really be used with anything (and one can easily create a vegan/vegetarian variation without compromising on flavour)!

    This is excellent! I can't decide what my favorite part was - the voiceover (clink, clink, tap tap tap), the beautiful apartment, the Hunzi-esque editing, or the actual cooking. 11/10 stars!

      That's it! I just couldn't figure out what the edit reminded me of. I got slight Binging with Babish vibes, but it has definitely got a Hunzi-feel to it as well.
      I'd say that is a great combination, especially if you mix in some of Matt's humour and editing style.

    LOVE THIS!! I like the little drawings, transitions and visuals and the fact that your humor is all over the place. the two cameras totally make it feel professional. maybe get a light on the left side of your face to make it look even better! I'm excited for more cooking videos 😊 I was also surprised that you had 'Gut und Gunstig' sauerkraut, I thought you could only get that brand in Germany!

    Horrog such a great video loved the set up multi cameras and voice over! So glad im watching this in the morning so im eating breakfast as I would have gotten to hungry is I was in bed lol.

    The fun you had making and editing this is easy to see and it cured my grumpy mood 😆👍 Nice one!
    As for pickles, most people I know In the US just call them pickles - the default is usually a dill pickle and if you want otherwise, you specify, including a gherkin. On the topic, fried pickles are a common thing ‘round these here parts.

    I'm from California and we call them Pickles. My New York friends call them Gherkins.
    This was a great cooking show. I loved the sound effects.

      It was so hard cause while I was doing the things I was narrating it in my head, but then when I came to editing I’d forgotten what I’d thought of for the voice over and so I really caught myself off guard with the knife thing 😂😂

    Do more of your cooking. How about a nice curry. Shame it was funny to see your hand movements while you couldn't speak as sav was busy. Hope you kept the other half for her. Looked really good. I always do my onions the way you do but I add just a pinch of garlic and some fruit chutney with mine while it's frying . Take care matt. Look forward to more recipes

    Looks delicious. I live in Seattle and our specialty hot dog here is: Toasted bun smeared with softened cream cheese, (choice of sausage), sauteed onion, and yellow mustard. I do mine with polish sausage, spicy mustard, sweet pickle relish and sometimes hot sauce.

    Love hot dogs. Just like the burger, less heavy, you can add just about anything as a topping.

    I identify with being a gherkin in the week and being a pickle at the weekend 🤪 definitely pickles are American, gherkins here in UK, McDonald's burgers being prime example, gherkins not pickles!

      Not a bad shout! I wouldn’t mind to toast the bread but you do need it to be a bit malleable so that it doesn’t just squish all the fillings out 😅

      sliceofmatt heating it up would make the bread softer. You could put the bun, crumb side down on a buttered pan. For more heat through the bun, put the lid over the bun. Then you have buttered toastiness, and it’s even softer. That’s the American diner style. Otherwise, we have some places that do a steamed, very soft bun.
