I'm 52. I've loved Metallica since the beginning, and I never got to see them live until this past weekend. Omg. AMAZING. The best part is I got to take my 12 year old son, and they're his favorite bad too! Robert Trujllo is the man! Their concert ROCKED and was one of the best experiences of my life, and definitely the best concert ever!
Great interview, love to hear all this. And already 20 years ago that mr Trujillo switched to metallica, i remember like yesterday that he was "taking us into the swamp" with a solo during the infectious grooves concert in Melkweg in Amsterdam... awesome!❤
Robert Trujillo and David Draiman should have a conversation/ interview together because they sound so much alike especially with there words and Class act
Degradation Trip (2002) was a solo project by Jerry Cantrell, now kind of little known in the wake of overwhelming albums that came out since. Jerry is the primary, of course. Mike (Faith no More) Bordin on drums and the best part of the temptation, Robert Trujillo. A group that is super, to say the least. By this time, Trujillo seems to be the Gary Oldman of music. I saw the man while I was stumbling through channels on Country Music Television playing a stand-up bass. You know there's a Metalhead fixation in your veins when you only recognize Robert and can't tell if it's Brad Peachtree or Aaron Tipson. "Dude! Rob from Suicidal in a country video! WTF?" BTW, highly recommended Degradation Trip if it's unknown. Heavy as hell!
imo, Being a Part of Metallica is NOT anything remotly similar in any way to skateboarding or snobording imo. I dont see the rellevents myself. But I do see now the crabwalk thing ,now I will see him in my mind playing bass but on a Skateboard 😅
I went to the show tonight and really hated that stage layout. They looked lost and there was not a good view anywhere in the building. Also Pantera absolutely smoked Metallica tonight. Metallica's mix was the worst of the night and you could hear several songs almost implode on them. I have been a fan for decades and hopefully Sundays show is a little tighter. I also noticed james vocals are almost back to the old days and that was really cool to hear
The stage layout works but is it perfect? No! Pantera were always going to crush whoever was around them, even this version! Metallica sounded pretty damn good but there were moments Rob’s bass sound went through the roof, there were some audio flobs here and there for sure.
Its a sin for Trujillo to spend his career playing Hetfield & Ulrich songs! Any real mofo would've taken the money & opportunity & moved tf on by now. Even Newstead had that much sense! SMGDMFH!🙄 🤘🌎❤️
Screw Trujillo and Bordin for recording over the original bass and drum parts of Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake on Ozzy's Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman albums. Just screw them.
Screw you, that’s not their fault, they have to pay the bills too, it’s $haron Assbourne’s fault and Ozzy’s fault as well for going along with Sharon who’s his greedy ass wife.
Rob seems like a coolest guy around. I wanna hang out with him definietly
i love this guy. what a career, what a life.

Wow, 20 years? It seems like he's still the new guy.
Thankyou for this interview. Rob is a legend.
Sitting down to chat with a legend is no easy task, great interview.
A legend? You throw that word around very lightly.
@@muriloninja Dude Rob is an absolute monster player, and played in 3 legendary bands. What else qualifies you to be a legend?
@@muriloninja You're funny.
Agree@@muriloninja

Awesome job, Lern! So cool to hear from Robert!!
What a great bloke!
I just realized I’ve seen Rob perform live at least a dozen times, between S T , Ozzy , Metallica .
Great Bass player.
Absolute fantastic interview 👏 The interviewer was on point!!
I’m not even a heavy metal fan, but really like Metallica!
Very interesting & talented group of guys.

Dont know nothing about Rob but few things ive seen he really seams like really down to earth guy . sure can beat on a Bass
SAINT ROBERTO!!! ❤
Amazing musician, great guy. Saw him live with Ozzy in 2000 or 2001, life changing experience. Regret not seeing him with SxT, though.
Great interview! Thank you for that!
Great interview
Hilarious listening to this vs interviews from these same guys in the 80s, where it was all just wild and crazy mayhem...
James does the cigar smoking workout, puff, puff, puff, whew, I'm exhausted.
I thought you were going to interview Lars
I only eat tacos when. I'm in Mexico 😂😂😂
Lern is smoking hot 🥵
Screw you I’ve met Rob and he is a great guy and a great bass player
everybody use Vans because of him .....

Not going to lie, wasn’t paying a lot of attention to Rob. 😉

Are you high. Pantera was awful lmao. Their sound was rough man. Couldn't understand a word they said

Bring back Jason, rob is a nice guy and all but Tallica needs that energy back, the growling, the 🦆 stepping etc
Its a sin for Trujillo to spend his career playing Hetfield & Ulrich songs! Any real mofo would've taken the money & opportunity & moved tf on by now. Even Newstead had that much sense!
SMGDMFH!🙄
🤘🌎❤️
I didn't like anything after black cd

Do you go to work and tell the boss that you refuse to do certain tasks?
Screw you, that’s not their fault, they have to pay the bills too, it’s $haron Assbourne’s fault and Ozzy’s fault as well for going along with Sharon who’s his greedy ass wife.
Ozzy had it switched back to the OG recordings for bass and drums.
Bosses order toolbag.
Metallica is a joke 👎
Still and probably always will be the biggest metal band to exist. It’s not a bad joke is it 🤣
Metallica was amazing!!
This band has become such a joke...and his 'stage presence' is the punch line! RIP Cliff
