I had a red one and it's by far the best car I've ever driven and it was my dream car as a child. Bought it with 70 thousand miles so was in great condition. Leather and wood interior is flawless design and timeless. With this car 145 easy with no shakes it grips the pavement the faster you drive. Unbelievable car and great performance. With the queen of Englands signature with her stamp of approval definitely one of the best of all time. Cheers 🥇
It is i also love IT
A great car will always remain a great car!
Everyone in the know thinks these cars are criminally undervalued and under appreciated. And rightly so, they have plenty of power and are very reliable. They handle well too for such big cars, must be getting rare now though as they have been sitting so low in price for so long now. Luckily I have one now after years of searching and will keep hold of it for many years to come.
Best color ever used on a jaguar
Colour. 🤣🤘🏼🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hi JDM great review, lovely color you sourced a great car with low mileage,I’ve been looking for a xjr/6 and found one here in Ireland with only 66000 miles full service history, what a car for old men ,I am 63 and it handles almost like a sports car ,and pulls like a train and shit on fuel but so much fun.great to see a young man have enthusiasm for for the last of the straight sixes ,
Very Nice. I Just like Them
Nice car! Great video, too. I have 3 XJs: a 1988 XJ40, a1989 XJ40, and a 2001 XJR. Love them all. Very reliable, too especially the '88. When I bought it with 121,000 miles on it, it had been sitting for 3 years in San Diego and another 3 in southern Idaho, so the interior was cooked pretty badly. Put a battery in it, a gallon of fresh gasoline, and it started right up! I put 106,000 miles on it myself, and stopped driving it in the winter of 2013-2014. Spent a total of $1235 on maintenance, and the original price was $500.00 out the door. I think I may have gotten my money's worth out of that one...
+Alan Hardman that is alot of car for the money 👍
My daily driver is a modified 160,000 mile X358 XJR. It’s a fantastic car, ridiculously fast, totally reliable, reasonably inexpensive to run; everything one could wish for in a car in fact, but I love the X306 XJR so much that I would sacrifice the extra 200 bhp for one in the right specification; this colour, manual, and without the sunroof.
Nice 😎
Incredible work on this review, one of the best I have seen actually. I have a 98 XJR with 60,000 miles and I love the car, but yes, this straight 6 was the best engine ever.. incredible car for sure..
+Mitch Grooms Thanks ! I really like the looks of this generation. Don't forget to subscribe
I did, You sure do know your cars.. I was hoping you had a video on the other Jag I see in the back ground.. I shared this video with my Jaguar Facebook groups.
+Mitch Grooms Thanks, the other JAG is also a xjr same type also 6 line. There where sold at the same time
Why is the straight 6 considered the better engine
Solid block big and side bearings over engineerd
Dude, you have some really nice cars! These are not the run of the mill cars either. And you do a great review on them too! Do you export to the USA?
+NewBeRVer Thanks Export to USA should be no problem. Is there a car that your interested in?
Beautiful ...
+classic kool i know 😉
my supercharged 97 has over 200k,and still runs great
Very good . If it is still for sale i can drive a 2001 model for a review with 230k klm. That Is about 150k Miles . Stay tuned And don't forget to subscribe
268 cars was built with manual gertag 290 gearbox, 165 cars LHD and 103 RHD. Models from 95-97
The manual definitely suits this car better. I've got one and although its very agricultural its a special car.
+Suggestive Biscuits your lucky there are not that much
Suggestive Biscuits I’m not saying I don’t believe you but can you show us? I’d be seriously interested in seeing one
Michael Kennedy there are some photos here; jec.org.uk/classifieds/index.php?page=cars-for-sale&id=3648
Michael Kennedy I also have a Manual and it was featured on a UA-cam channel - ua-cam.com/video/u7GcSWpcNJs/v-deo.html
Nice car nice colour, what's not to like.
The oil pressure sender was bad too bro. Pretty common fault
i was like wow that was waytoo low for my coffort. i run 15W 40 myself
very interesting color on the car.
Yes it is pretty rare
No xj6 of that color are for sale in the usa was it a Europe exclusive color
@@JMSpeedshop Someone I know has a 1994 in the same color. Not unique to 1996 only.
I've always loved these X300 XJR/6s. They are actually quite rare. In 1995 only 400 made the it to the USA. I never understood why they are so unloved and sell so cheap used. I think over time the collector car circles will eventually start giving them some respect. I always felt like these are the 1990s equivalent of an old Bentley Blower. I think 40-50 years old they will find their place on the lawn of Pebble Beach as a classic.
+hendo337 yes Maybe. How knowns better buy one now then
+JMSpeedshop ! There is a nice looking 1995 XJR for sale with 87,000 miles in Florida for $5500 right now. Has a clean vehicle history report. Body and interior look flawless. It is very tempting. I would definitely go check it out at least if it wasn't so far away from where I live in Texas.
+hendo337 engine is unbreakable
Never seen an XJR in that color. It is stunning! Anyone that knows anything about these cars will tell you the straight 6 was so much more dependable than the later V8's. If anyone knows this exterior color please let me know the name.
Yeah. Jaguar UDB mate. 🤘🏼🇬🇧
@@troylucas4516 What color? UDB?
@@klwthe3rd ?? Eh ? The Colour is UDB
Jaguar called it Turquoise Pearl aka 827/UDB.
@@LateNightCable Thank you for letting me know the name of the color and paint code
That superchargers huge! Why do you prefer the 4 litre straight 6 over the V8? Is it better power delivery?
Just like the engine Better. Engine is the last version for the inline generation dating back form the e-type as a base. So all the faults are engineered out
@@JMSpeedshop Thanks yeah last of the line engine must be better for reliability gotta love the straight 6 🙂
For sure 👍
Had one of these, also in turquoise and with the ivory interior, great great car. When I sold it last winter it had just over 270 000km on it, still as good as new, really. It's all about maintenance. When I was buying it, I walked away from several that had about 200 000km that were in quite rough condition already. Or they had been clocked, who knows.
I sold it because I wanted the V8 one. Performance wise the x308 is so much better, mainly due to the mercedes gearbox in the x308 I reckon. The GM 4-speed has very long gearing in first and second gear, and the 0-60km/h acceleration was in my mind quite poor for the cars reputation. It really got into its comfort zone only after 60km/h. The mercedes 5g-tronic gearbox in the x308 has a very short 1st gear, and it's much faster off the line, the difference is very noticeable. Also the CATS suspension is brilliant compared to the traditional sport suspension in the x300. That being said it was also very good. And some might like the stiffer suspension in the x300 more, I personally don't.
I can see, however, why one would want the x300 over the x308. The x300 is so dependable, and should something go wrong it is quite easy to mend yourself. I've had the x308 only for 6 months/8000km. So far I've had no real problems, only some minor issues, but somehow I have the feeling that it will not be quite as trouble-free as the x300.
So if someone is pondering wether to go for the x300 or the x308 (xjr), I would say the only advice is to go out and drive both of them. If you can live with the poor off-line acceleration, then go for the x300. I couldn't. And don't get me wrong, both of these cars are fast.
Oh, and by the way, 1996 wasn't the only year they offered the turquoise colour, it was also offered on the 1995 models, like my ex xjr. Very exclusive though, the total production figure of 225 I think is correct. This one with such low mileage and this colour/interior combination will be so desirable in the classic car market. I think it was worth every penny of the 15 000 euros, I really hope the new owner sees the collector value in it, and will keep it original etc.
+patokaa93 Thanks for your story. I already thought of buying a x300 And swapping a 5 speed in it And do a compressor pulley swap And a good Tune i think these engine's are really good. The JAG xjr in these video is sold Just after the video was made
Only 102 xjrs were built with Manual Transmission. Very rare
Nice
Should i buy one: 190tKm, 4200€, Red, 4.0, V6, 07.1995???? Good deal?
Very good video, thank you
6 inline engine i hope . the dis not build à V6. Xjr or normal 4.0 6 inline. It depends all on the condition of the car. Xjr for 4200 in good condition sounds as à good deal. À normal 4.0 6 inline iT needs to be in very good condition for That price
@@JMSpeedshop sorry, yes straight 6, XJR, 4 speed automatic, leather, bordeaux red, tinted windows, Rwd, 320Hp, cruise control, roofwindow, heated frontseats, ac automatic. Thanks for your answer. Take care
If iT is in good maintained condition the price sound not to bad
@@JMSpeedshop Ok thanks. Have to take a look. All service done, looks good on the pics. Leather looks good, all clean.
I have one in the same colour. 1995. 🤘🏼🇬🇧 shame you haven’t got the black window surrounds though like we have. Much better.
If may i ask , how tall are You ?? :) i'm looking for one of theese , but i have 190 cm and im afraid it might be lack of room over head.
+TheRekonStudio i'm 185 cm. I also love them i might buy one in the future also .
JMSpeedshop ! Thx! Once You've been bite by cat You cant go over it i guess :p ill hope that w/o sunroof will be more space :D Thx again :)
+TheRekonStudio for sure. Maybe more space. You have to try
+RavenPrecept i really like And Maybe buy one for my self in the future
Six cylinder is best cylinder
+kyle Kush for 6 inline is better i like these more then the 8 cylinders that came after this. Thanks
And don't forget Mercedes m103 m104 engine's
... until 8 cylinder is best cylinder
Let's face it, the V8 Jaguar developed, and Ford produced, was made to make the Jaguar XJ more available for the US Market.
The AJ8 (AJ-V8)Engine was actually to good for Ford, so they needed help ,using the German ZF 5HP24 Transmission, and the Supercharged AJ8 was so DAMN good, it needed the Mercedes Benz 5G-Tronic W5A580 Transmission , made for the SL600, that kinda show's how powerful these AJ8 engine's were !
I these engine's are maintained well, they can easy hit +400.000 Km.
Another example, these AJ8 were voted as 1 of the 10 Best engine's made on 2000 !
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ward%27s_10_Best_Engines
I own a 2000 Daimler Super V8, and would never trade it for any XJR.
Greetings, and very nice review !
Thanks . For the info . Very usefull for this video 👍
How much was it sold for?
+bago47 around €15k
I love jaguar's but they give you 2 many problems if I was 2 buy one I would do a motor swap but I love the color on your's.
The engine are great much better and strong er build Then most brands . Then Bottom and is over engineerd when you look at crabks and bearing size. If You Just use good sensors and new wiring and a standalone this is a very reliable setup
👑☝👍🔥👑🙏😎😏
Firstly, the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Whoever put it there needs to be sacked right away.
Secondly, to all those saying the straight six was the best engine are wrong. The V12 is the best.
Oke a JAG needs to rhd. And v12 is a under rared a lot but a straight six is also very good . Thanks
Thanks for clearing that all up.
JMSpeedshop ! The AJ6s were fine but couldn't match the smoothness or the power uptake of the earlier XK engines, especially in the triple carburettor arrangement. I've owned and driven thousands of Jags over the years as, for many years, I owned a Jag breakers. I tried to save as many as I could that came through my gates, which is why I never got rich, but any that were running - and that was most of them - I always drove them a few miles, mainly to see if the engine was saleable, but I always enjoyed it.
👍
Yes the are Just very good drivers. I really like them
jaguar are 0000000000 reliable 0000 confiabilty
