So so easy. OMG. Instead of making a whole bottle when i only need, say 200, 267 or 313 ml i can mix it perfectly everytime. Thank you. I am sharing the hell out of this video.
no shit, why can't chemistry instructors explain stuff like this in a plain and simple manner? Because they want to look smart and make students look dumb.
Before you were about to say give this video a thumbs up I already did. You pretty much cleared up my concept for diluting products. Now I'm off to diluting my products.
Thanks, I'm happy it helped. I'm the opposite, I'm terrible at Maths, but good with logical things! It's so simple once you realise how to work them out. I think the part most struggle with is that you have to add all of the parts up first tow give you the total number of parts to divide by. Thanks for commenting!
I bought a fabric cleaner and says 20:1 for general purpose or 8:1 for heavy-duty cleaning. I'm so confused! Says I need to mix it in a spray bottle, but don't want to mess it up lol plz help!
Just add the parts together and divide the total amount you want to make by it. If you want to make roughly 500ml for example: 20:1 = 500/21 = 24ml per part. So 24ml of cleaner to 480ml of water (rounding up) 8:1 = 500/9 = 55ml per part Again 55ml of cleaner to 440ml of water.
It's amazing how many people struggle with this, and it's easy once it's explained to you. I'm crap at maths so I needed an easy way to work the ratios out
I think the real confusion comes from the difference between dilution ratio and dilution factor which is two different things. Make sure the bottle gives a dilution ratio before following the advice of this video. A dilution factor would be, for example using 1:10, one part solute to 9 parts solvent for a total of 10 parts.
I have a 5L floor cleaner that has a dilution ratio of 30:100ml. I want to add to mop bucket and have no idea how much I am meant to use. Could you help me please ? Thank you. Video very helpful I'm just confused with the mop bucket lol
Distilled doesn't contain imperfections that tap water can. Also tap water doesn't stay as fresh so it will degrade the quality of the product. I would definitely use distilled
So is the measurement always in the amount measured with the concentate. Like you have a 100ml bottle of concentrate and its a 1:6 ratio. You need to mix with 5L of water? Do i need to convert the liters into ml?
The 2 measurements always need to be the same - whether it's ml, Litres, Gallons, Fl. oz or whatever else. If you have a 1:6 with 100ml concentrate then you need 600ml of water (1 part to 6 parts) and you will end up with 700ml of product. Hope this helps
Thanks for this, honestly I was worried. I am very bad at math but the job I want requires understanding ratio on large bottles. If only they'd just write ml's lol. With the 900ml bottle is that just standard what you should mix it in?
Thanks, I tried to make it as simple as possible LOL. I think most spray bottles are around the 900ml mark, it's probably 935ml or something, but it's easier to round it down to a whole number. Hope this helps :)
You can use any water including tap water. I prefer deionised bit I have a filter for an aquarium so it's easy to get. But you can use any type of water at all. Hope this helps 😁
I must be really thick, I'm still bamboozled. Bought some Optimum No Rinse from the US. The bottle says 1 OZ (product) : 2 Gallons (Water). Does anyone know the UK equivalent dilution ratio? I made it 250:1 but I'm not sure?!
2 gallons is 7.57 litres 1 US floz is 29.5ml So if you have a 7 litre bucket you'd add about 30ml of Optimum. Most detailing buckets are 20 litres so if you 3/4 fill it then add 60ml of product you should be fine. You don't really need the ratio as you have the actual amounts of products, you just need to convert it to a measurement you're used to, in this case Millilitres and Litres. Hope this helps
Because the amount of product we are making is 900ml so "1" has to be 150ml - 5:1 = 900ml /6 = 150ml per part. If you want to know it in ounces you have to know the volume of the container in ounces, then do the math explained in the video. I'm in the UK and we don't use ounces.
FINALLY, a short video not 20+ mins, straight to the point and easy to understand! Thank you helped a lot!
Recently got myself some Autobrite products and got really confused about the dilution rates.
This video really sums it up super easily, thanks a lot!

You have no idea how much you helped me with your explication. Thank you!
thank you so much. you have no idea how my lab trainer confused me when explaining this. you the boss!
Thanks! Maybe it's because I'm bad at maths so when I explain it it's a bit easier to follow LOL!

This is the best video on UA-cam about dilution you have no idea
Before you were about to say give this video a thumbs up I already did. You pretty much cleared up my concept for diluting products. Now I'm off to diluting my products.
Thanks. It's confusing when nothing gets easily. I'm glad that this simplified it! Have Fun!
I agree, great video, thanks
Very simple thank you I've seen lots if videos non make sense and are like 30 min thanks
Finally someone gives good explanation thnx alot sir for clearing my topic..
Glad you found it useful 👍
spot on,the best ratio video i have ever seen
Thanks!
Great video and explanation. Dilution ratios can be confusing for sure. I like the spray bottles that have the ratios on the side. Makes life easier.
Cheers for the video mate, I'm not so bad at Maths, but ratios have always stumped me, you've explained it perfectly :)
Thanks, I'm happy it helped. I'm the opposite, I'm terrible at Maths, but good with logical things!

thanks, watched few videos but you explained it best
Exactly. Straight to the point. Thank you!!
Thank you for this mate, helped me out a lot 👍🏽
I bought a fabric cleaner and says 20:1 for general purpose or 8:1 for heavy-duty cleaning. I'm so confused! Says I need to mix it in a spray bottle, but don't want to mess it up lol plz help!
Just add the parts together and divide the total amount you want to make by it.
If you want to make roughly 500ml for example:
20:1 = 500/21 = 24ml per part.
So 24ml of cleaner to 480ml of water (rounding up)
8:1 = 500/9 = 55ml per part
Again 55ml of cleaner to 440ml of water.
Please could you help? What would the dilution be if 1:40 in a 900ml bottle?
This helped a lot for me developing film! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
I really wish i'd seen this when i first got into buying all my gear...thanks for posting.
It's amazing how many people struggle with this, and it's easy once it's explained to you. I'm crap at maths so I needed an easy way to work the ratios out
Thank god you did this video, thanks very much 👍👌🙏
Thanks very much for this detailed video had trouble finding a solution to the problem glad I found ya haha
No problem 👍
On my product rinse wax says to dilute 1.20-1:25 so I have bottle of one litter. what would be the formula for dilution. Thanks

Thank you so much! My brain was hurting trying to figure it out (duh). Maths not being my strong point!
Happy to help! Maths is not my forte either so it probably helps me explain it better 😁

Thanks for the help buddy, you made that super clear and understandable. Rock on. :-)
What detail spray was that an you got a link for it
Does it matter if you use water out of the faucet / tap or should you use distilled water ?
Distilled doesn't contain imperfections that tap water can. Also tap water doesn't stay as fresh so it will degrade the quality of the product. I would definitely use distilled
Thank you !Indeed you have done a good job !Very helpfull for me !
Best video on how to dilute thank you
Thanks!! I'm happy it helped 👍😃
What detail spray was that
if it says 1 to 1 if i understand it right it is 50% water 50% apc ?
thanks for the tip. will write it woen so i wont forget haha
Correct. For example 500ml APC and 500ml water 👍
If i need 16 oz total how much wwater is 9 parts to 1
So is the measurement always in the amount measured with the concentate. Like you have a 100ml bottle of concentrate and its a 1:6 ratio. You need to mix with 5L of water? Do i need to convert the liters into ml?

@@MySupercarLife It absolutely 💯 helped. Thank you for your reply!
Please could you tell me of a product says 250:1 /500:1 not good with my maths thank you

I have some carpet cleaner that says "dilute 20-50 parts of solution with water" I'm so confused
Thats quite straightforward in standard quantities
20ml of cleaner to 50ml of water
40ml of cleaner to 100ml etc.
WHat can be use for colouring when making cleaning agent
Nice math to understand ratios, thanks.
You're welcome!
Hi, is it obligatory to use deminarilazed water to dilute apc?
You can use any water including tap water. I prefer deionised bit I have a filter for an aquarium so it's easy to get. But you can use any type of water at all. Hope this helps 😁
very excellent. easy to understand. thanks a lot
You are welcome!
Best video ever.
Thanks!
is the one part product always 100ml
Hello new to this what would 1 part to 40 part water be
How big is your bottle?
You are the best

What does it mean on the bottle 33-1
33 parts water to 1 part chemical 33:1
thanks for the video man
No probs, hope it helped.
Want to try those products. I'm a little bit scared for shipping rates to the US
I think you can probably get as good products in the US to be honest. Shipping from the UK always costs a fortune!
Spot on video
What is the result if the dilution is 800:1 in a 1000ml bottle?
800ml of water and 1ml of product. You don't need to make the whole 1000ml
@@MySupercarLife thanks!
Thank you, bro!
You're welcome!
5 star best video explain dilute ratios . must see
Thank you very much!
thank you
Thats excellent
Thanks 👍
cheers mate!
Thanks!!
You SAVED ME
Awesome! Thanks!!!!
Thanks again
I’m so confused. My bottle is 28 oz. and i need a1:20
Divide 28 by 21 which gets you 1.33 oz of product then the rest of the 26.67 with water.
Thank you for this
No problem 😊
Very explain, thanks
I understand the math. However, how do you know which ratio to use for which product?
The product should always have the ratio on the label. It varies on different products from different manufacturers
Great
Thanks!
Thanks 😊👍
You're very welcome! Hope it was useful.
Appreciate it!
Thanks G
You're welcome!
very explain, thanks :D
Thank You!
Nice Job !!!!
+Kemsingnews Barathan thanks!
But who says "1" is 150ml and not an ounce?
Because the amount of product we are making is 900ml so "1" has to be 150ml - 5:1 = 900ml /6 = 150ml per part.
If you want to know it in ounces you have to know the volume of the container in ounces, then do the math explained in the video. I'm in the UK and we don't use ounces.
5 people still cannot fathom it.
LOL, looks like it doesn't it 😆👍
Thankyou so helpful
Thank you 😀👍 really helped me out. Pay attention in school everyone 😂🫣
Thx!
No problem!
