Frank! What have you done my man!? I'm 65 yrs old, and this took me back to my kiddie time when we lived in Claremont, and used to hear them practice on Friday's when I was in school. On Saturday's and Sunday's, my mom or dad would take my brother and me to the Fairgrounds and we would stand there at the entrance where there were a lot of kids wanting to get in. We would jump in the back of a pick up truck or get in someone's car and stay until it ended. It had kind of slipped my mind until watching last year's Daytona 500 yesterday, and Mike Joy from FOX did a promo about it. Thank you so much for making my day. You are one AWESOME brother!!! God Bless....💖💖 Shouts from Mainz, Germany...
AWESOME Frank your footage is better than NHRA TV now I can actually hear those top fuel beasts do a burnout and leave start line instead of having to listen to Reinheart and co
Frank! The closest, high quality cinematography next to...! Wow 😲 Glad to see the Funny Car driver Get Out of that massive Hit. Thanks to the many and original Safety Pioneers: Wally Parks and Big Daddy Don Garlits. 🙏🏆🏁
Timothy Vaher Thank you for those kind words bro 🙏 yes I’m glad he jumped out of that funny car because he took a direct hit into that concrete Jersey wall….Hahns device & safety equipment did its job. NHRA gets bashed a lot but they implement these rules for good reasons 👍👍🙏🙏🙏
@@mrsamsung8184 well more subscribers means that you have more of a chance to get more views simply because you have more people subscribed to your channel, however it doesn’t always work that way…I was looking at a video last night that a guy posted a month ago & it only had 200 views last night but he has 30k subscribers…..in Dragracing it’s kinda complicated because NHRA has the fastest accelerating cars on the planet ( Nitro Funnycar & TopFuel dragster ) but on average The Streetoutlaws / NoPrepKings videos get by far more views. Next year I will attend a NoPrepKings event to try & get my views up. Thank you for your support it’s greatly appreciated 👍
Another great video Frank! Got me fired up for this weekend. Posting the qualifying sheets is a great idea as well - makes it easier to follow along if your memory is poor like mine 😄 That funny car took a hard hit off the wall ,glad to see he was ok. Keep em coming Frank!
Frank: thanks for representing NHRA with this video! It just amazes me that these cars can attain speeds of 330+ miles an hour at 3.6 seconds elapsed time, Consistently. (Awesome)
Thanks for watching, I appreciate the kind words & yes it still amazes me everytime I go to the track & see these beast ….I been watching them at NHRA events for over 40 years & it never gets old 👍
Great video. But, for those who have only seen Top Fuel cars on TV or videos, you have to get to an event, and see these cars in person. The sounds, and the ground shaking under you feet will confirm what you've been missing.
@@frank-xp6pj Another 'rush' in motorsports is to sit in the stands at a Nascar race and feel the wind and the heat from the pack of cars as they've gone around the track on the first lap and pass you at nearly 200mph.
@@frank-xp6pj Yes. that "rush" would only be felt at the super speedways. At the restrictor plate tracks, once they take the green flag, they need to go around the track before they reach the speeds.
Man, you got the chance to record the BIG GUYS!! I lived in El Monte until I was 13 yo. We used to go to Irwindale Drags back in the day/ NEVWE got the chance to go to Pomona in the grand stands, but did get to watch from an infield view one year. Nice job..I will be at the Northern nationals this year filming..you coming this way maybe?
Thanks bro, I would love to make the Northern Nationals but unsure right now….I will be filming in Sonoma in July for the NHRA Sonoma Nationals on Friday & Saturday BUT I’m gonna be at a big grudgerace later on in May so hopefully there will be some nice cars at this event….I’m also trying to film some car shows here in California this summer….gotta keep giving people videos to watch, I can’t wait to see your video from the Northern Nationals so I will keep checking your channel 🙏🙏🙏🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥
Make a trip to New England Dragway some year. It's a very nostalgic track and very well attended. Now that the Canadian borders are open again I expect a sellout for the event. June 3-5 2022.
Yeah I always wanted to go there since they closed Englishtown…when we use to go to the NHRA SummerNationals in Etown a lot of racers in the sportsman classes came from the NewEngland region, lots of cool cars 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍
@@frank-xp6pj won’t be too much of a secret if I tell you, but I fully anticipate starting a Top Fuel team in 2023!! Can’t say much more than that yet, I’ll know more in the next few months :)

Thanks for your support, I only went one day this time but Sonoma I will record 2 days & for the Finals also 👍
Good except unable to see the tree.
Thank you from Downunder
Love seeing the Sarge back in the seat, but will never get used to not seeing him associated with the Army.
Kind of not seeing Force associated with Castrol

I concur Rolly Doucet 👍 it’s nothing in Motorsports that can match it at all.

What is it that the last man takes off the engine and shows the driver before he sets up for the run? Thanks.
