Nothing like good Farm stories…I remember in the old days of Cotton Picking when we used wagons to dump the cotton in from 2 row pickers, then a bunch of school age children would walk it down and pack it in the wagon. Nothing like harvest! Don’t ever forget Daniel, you have very good situation, take of it and most importantly, yourself.
I was raised on a cotton, mllo, and cattle farm in central Texas. Back in the 60's, if we got a bale to the acre, it set the bar. I started watching your channel about 3 months ago. As I subscribe to other farming channels, i must say yours is the best. Information, crops, drone footage, family, fabrication, time lapse, co-workers, maintenance, all of it is the best! As your channel is addictive and entertaining, I have stayed up to the wee hours of the morning just to catch up on all your posts. I always can't wait for a new video.
Great video Daniel. First time I have seen a cotton harvesting machine. Fascinating piece of equipment. I never realized the amount of work that you and your fellow farmers do every day. You are an essential part of our society. If more people emulated your work ethic we would all be in a better place .Keep up the good work
Your drone footage is always impeccable. It’s got to be the most satisfying thing I ever get to watch. Thank you for sharing!!! It calms my soul... seriously 😂
Love hearing the old stories that you and Phillip were sharing. Ya'll have a long history around Central Alabama, please share some more stories. Last cotton picker I ever drove (back in the early/mid 80's) was a brand new John Deere 9920 two row, and we were still dumping into cotton wagons/trailers, as well as an old John Blue Module Builder (the type where the module was built on a wood pallet, not on the ground). The wood pallet holding the module would be winched onto a special built John Blue module trailer. Before the 9920, it was a pair of International 782 two rows, and before that it was John Deere 9900 two rows, and before that it was John Deere 299 two row picker. As a real little kid, I remember my father had a Rust brand two row picker with no cab.
Thanks for the training Daniel. That's quite a process to begin the day. I couldn't imagine that cotton adhered to all the components on the harvester that way. Good luck.
Great video Daniel! You’re one of the most likeable guys on UA-cam. The cotton picker is an amazing machine, enjoy these years farming with your father, they’ll go by way too fast. God bless.
I know little about cotton, but it sure looks good. Once again the drone footage shows wonderful Alabama country, and the huge cotton fields you operate. Compared to what Philip described, to see only you there must be a huge change. Good morning, Granny.
What a fantastic video. I have been waiting to see the cotton harvest process since joining the channel. That picker is an amazing machine. Keep up the great videos Daniel. Hi Granny.
Thanks for putting this up. Didn’t know there. Was that much going on harvesting cotton. Most of my experience comes from mowing right away. It’s in the state roads. I can relate that to check on the equipment every morning.
I never picked cotton but i have fond memoreies of hand picking Tobacco from the 60s to the 80s.Lots of stories started at the age of 6, picking up leaves from the barn floor, great show Daniel, and morning granny have a great day.
Good morning Granny, Dan and Daniel and all Triple R farms, really enjoyed the video preparing the picker for the days work there is a lot of stuff to do to a picker like that
Enjoyed the video I picked a lot of my hand when I have no bigger than a minute couldn't even drag the bag through the field thought I'd never want to see another bowl of cotton
Beautiful cotton crop. Just looking at your crop I would say you are picking 3plus bales per acre. Don’t tell the IRS that!! lol. Yes cotton prices are very good this year!! Glad to see y’all making a good cotton crop!! Thank you Jesus!! Have a good one buddy from La.
Great job Daniel, Hello Granny absolutely love the drone footage. I wonder if you could show what happens to the cotton once it get picked maybe you could just tell us. I am from Idaho so we don't see any of this type of harvest just potatoes, beets and wheat. Thanks again for the great video.
Just curious.... how long does it take you to service every morning by yourself? If just one person does it on our farm its about 1.5 - 2 hour process. 2 or 3 people helping knocks it down to about an hour. That's checking fluids, cleaning units and moisture pads, top of basket, greasing, and filling up with fuel and water. Curious as to how other people fare. Thanks
Watching you hook that trailer gave me an idea. Regardless of having a backup camera or not, hooking up a trailer could be improved. I think an electric rocker switch that would inch the truck forward or backward would be ideal.
I have a battery-operated air compressor that I carry on my bike in case I get a flat tire. Produces up to 250psi. It also has a memory, if you set it to the tire pressure you need, it remembers it so you don't have to reset the psi every time you go to use it. They have been on the market for a while now. Get one for your truck.
Reminds me of harvesting French ( dwarf) beans in the UK. Is the picker and are the heads left in that state from the end of the previous season until a few days before the next?
I don't know your age Daniel..I'm from south ga. 40 miles north of Tallahassee fla..I remember as a 10 year old kid my dad bought a a 2 row 622 international with no cab that ran on L.P gas..my older brother drove it from Dothan Alabama to Thomasville Georgia down highway 84 at 12 mph ..I was 10 years old.. he parted air with his nose for real for a whole day
We picked cotton and packed trailers by walking it down after school..there was only one gin close to our farm which was 45 miles north in the town of funston Georgia 15 miles north of Moultrie Georgia...
On Veterans Day are you going to throw them like a hang grenade for us vets? Lol! Also I was waiting for the story about when you were picking cotton by hand.. Keep up the great videos lol. Stay dry
Know very little about cotton harvesting. The bale accumulated looks to he a better system than the loose handling used in past. I've hauled cotton seed for feed and cotton seed cake.
If Understand it correctly: The white "pads" apply the water mix to the spindles to allow the cotton to be pulled off of each spindle and then sent on its way to the next step towards making a bale.
It sounds like you need to help her out there giving you an extra set of hands when you’re cleaning everything up in the morning to get ready to run. Maybe you could check out some of the local schools to see if they have an FFA program which I’m sure they do. Get some young kids that want to come out and give you a hand just to get some experience.
Still perplexed on the baler pickers...I know it's the "thing", but I still believe fall labor and module builders are SO much less expensive than a baler picker. I don't see how a new million dollar machine can pencil out in the black compared to $10.00 per hour labor.
In my 30 plus years harvesting crops I have never seen a cotton pitcher or have a idea of how the Internals work. If possible could you show how the picker works? Best wishes

Thanks for the training Daniel. That's quite a process to begin the day. I couldn't imagine that cotton adhered to all the components on the harvester that way. Good luck.
First time seeing cotton being picked. Thank you

Good job with the ending of the video coming from Hollister North Carolina
Thanks for sharing. I always wondered how cotton was picked by modern machinery.
Great video of the picker riding by.
Enjoyed the video I picked a lot of my hand when I have no bigger than a minute couldn't even drag the bag through the field thought I'd never want to see another bowl of cotton
Drove Lee Co. to Calhoun Co. To see my parents. Saw beautiful cotton covered fields in chambers Co. A site to see.

That looks so cool from your drone. Don't see to much of this in Michigan!! How long is the growing season for cotton? Great video
We allow for 160-180 days. Growing season is long for cotton.
When everything is working it's fun to farm when the crops our good hard work pays off 👍🏻😉
Granny where has your farm boys been????? Just pickin. Cotton???
Haven’t seen them in a week. Oh seems Daniel went on cruise.
Football edition was good, I am happy to see you changed your style throwing the bottles and cans. MUCH BETTER shooting :)
Watching you hook that trailer gave me an idea. Regardless of having a backup camera or not, hooking up a trailer could be improved. I think an electric rocker switch that would inch the truck forward or backward would be ideal.

Lordy, I thought combines and corn pickers were heavy on PM but cotton pickers???..jeeeez, have a good cotton harvest!
Great video. Fantastic cotton picking!
Man, that is some pretty cotton!!!
Cotton pickers are a bit needy on the daily prep and cleaning. Amazing machines but needy.
Seeing Phillip made me think about P.A. Hope he is doing well.
Kind of disappointed no bees, spiders or snakes. Great shots with the cottons Bowls .....
Great video!
Reminds me of harvesting French ( dwarf) beans in the UK. Is the picker and are the heads left in that state from the end of the previous season until a few days before the next?
Hi Daniel, where have you been? I wake up every morning and no new videos. Hope everything is okay.
Hope you make many bales to the acre on the cotton crops!
Scafferers is a good product have used their oil very good hydraulic oil also
I don't know your age Daniel..I'm from south ga.

What kind of cotton seeds do y’all plant ?
Y’all have beautiful cotton
How many acres can you pick of cotton in a day
My grandfather worked for Lumis Cotton Mills for may years. He said cotton was a dirty and deadly
business.
On Veterans Day are you going to throw them like a hang grenade for us vets? Lol! Also I was waiting for the story about when you were picking cotton by hand.. Keep up the great videos lol. Stay dry
Cotton picker is a complicated machine👍👍
When I was a kid the only thing we ever drug was a cotton sack, they were 23 of us in an old pickup truck.
Know very little about cotton harvesting. The bale accumulated looks to he a better system than the loose handling used in past. I've hauled cotton seed for feed and cotton seed cake.
Good cotton man!!!!
Daniel, What does the average Bail weigh.
Daniel I don’t know anything about picking cotton but what’s the oil and water mix for? Maybe you have said it in another video but never did see it.
If Understand it correctly:
The white "pads" apply the water mix to the spindles to allow the cotton to be pulled off of each spindle and then sent on its way to the next step towards making a bale.
Hi how many acres u plant on everything
حصاد رائع
Could Phillip help get bales out of field to a row Incase it rains
How you get the cotton your machine has missed
It sounds like you need to help her out there giving you an extra set of hands when you’re cleaning everything up in the morning to get ready to run. Maybe you could check out some of the local schools to see if they have an FFA program which I’m sure they do. That there is lota prep to run for the day.just like footballs.
Any change in cotton price, I saw that Pakistan lost crops due to flooding. Was wondering if y'all gonna see extra $$$
What does a bale of cotton weigh

I think video just before this one they show how the picker works.

Dawn dishwashing liquid works just as good
