When I got the figure I was expecting all the flak for it But even after hearing everything, this was my favorite figure because of how amazing the tank and robot mode were His jet mode looks amazing with the TR octane and Siege Astrotrsin
With the final leak listing containing Overcharge (Diaclone Blitzwing coming!), i'd say this aged in a great way. I do have Blitzwing, but his extra weapons are really not necessary + bonus energon hands because why not? he's still an amazing figure despite all of his flaws. the Jet Mode and the Tank Mode in my preferences are great! also you can turn the energon hands into MLRS launchers in tank mode as well.! I'd accept your apology.
My girlfriend just ordered this for me for my birthday (the 19th, I'll be 23) and I'll have him this weekend. I'm so excited, I've been a defender of this guy for months after getting to handle one for a little and he's been a minor grail for my extremely new collection and I'm glad to see people coming around to appreciate this figure for what it is. I'm a Unicron trilogy kid Imma be honest, so g1 while still my jam never was of such importance in accuracy for me. I always looked at him as a "generations" blitzwing like an evergreen design kinda like what they did to the prime characters that look accurate enough but still fall in line with a mainline collection. I dig his streamline bot mode and even the jet mode, I think the tank turret underneath is sick and even reminds me of the ss bb movie seekers with the undermounted cannon. The tank mode is funny purely bc you can recreate his first ever appearance and give him the funny visible head.
I saw a lot of vitriol towards this figure online, but never could bring myself to hate it. He's pretty neat. Also apparently there was a leaked Legacy listing for that green diaclone repaint of Blitzwing.
I get that it's bulky but it always was. The G1 figure had the same problem and I don't really see how you could move away enough from the design and still call it G1. The bulkiness is just baked into it. Just how it is.
The problem with the tank shlong is, first off it was never supposed to be there, that’s an error in the animation. Second, if you’re going to replicate the animations error in the toy purely because that’s how it looked on screen, ok sure. So why is it the wrong colour? Why is it the wrong shape? Why are all the surrounding details and colours wrong? And most importantly, *why is the tank the completely wrong tank* ? I’m not a stickler for G1 accuracy, I think that deviations and updates are great. However if you’re going to intentionally ruin the profile of the take for the sake of “G1 accuracy”, why isn’t literally any other part of the tank mode G1 accurate, including every single detail of the cockpit? This figure has a LOT of other problems, but I can forgive most of those like the proportions of the jet or the inaccurate robot mode, because it’s a triple changer and sacrifices will naturally have to be made. But what I can’t forgive is the tank mode intentionally being ruined for the sake of G1 accuracy, while getting literally no details correct, including *not even being the right tank*
Ehhhh I think you’re being too hard on past you. I don’t actively dislike Legacy Blitzwing, and no shade whatsoever to anyone who has and/or likes it, but somewhere along the way I completely stopped wanting it. I feel like someone in a skit from an infomercial: “there’s got to be a better way!”
Blitzwing is my favorite Transformers character ever and when I got this figure it did not disappoint! Yeah the vehicle modes aren't the best but man I still enjoy them. Articulation is great, G1 accuracy is like 99% there and he's a great scale with the other figures. I have Blitzwing and WFC Earthrise Astrotrain and they look so badass together!
Never had an issue with Blitzwing and that bot mode is just excellent....yes these shoulders are too common on leaders of late....blitzwing, g2 prime, armada megs.....blah to them all. I like those figures too but im not the biggest fan of their shoulders
Got this guy just a few days ago for 60$. I don't mind the kibble and complaints about accuracy One thing i don't like is shoulder articulation. Other than that, he's a really fun figure to pose and play with
You owe him no apologies. So many of these came from Hasbro with some of the most JACKED knees. Tabs that just dont fit unless you out to the limit of breaking. Ya robot mode looks great. If you can actually get it there properly. Scared to ever un-tab his knees again.
I waited quite a few months after it was released so I could get it at the Voyager price($33 New)ended up getting Galvatron even cheaper($23 New) and it was the much better legacy version.I don't have to get something as soon as possible,if I can tell it might not sell so well I can wait. They're definitely not worth the leader price.
while I say they could have cleaned it better when it comes to the tank tracks on the wings (even just have it flip, somehow?) the one thing I do declare a sin for this figure, is that the tank mode has a defined and unescapable front and back, which is both conceptually against the idea of the tank chosen, AND the various depiction of Bliz in all media. ironically enough, the fact the "front" is actually the back of the actual tank model makes it levels of irony! for everything else, he's just good. even the kibble turret is as canonical as it gets without breaking euclidean space
I don't deny that I feel like I've been converted only coz I paid just $34 for it. Had it been any higher, I'd likely have the slight buyer's remorse I had for SiegeRise Astrotrain when I got him for, well, what was $47 now but was closer to 55 in Dec 2021 (inflation, WEEEEE!), which was a big factor in putting me off from getting him. That I'd have the same feeling of buyer's remorse that...I still kinda do. I still hold firm to the fact that the plastic used in the hands should have been used for a few more hinges to compress the tank junk in jet mode or to cover up the gap there above the tank cockpit, which is what bugged me more on principle than the cockpit ever really did. But in-hand, with a bit of personal cope, those issues barely bug me as they did before. Fully extend the nosecone, and the tank gains a drill form. The jet reminds me more of the Mega Winger from Power Rangers In Space. Height is still a bit of a bummer though. Oh well. So I also slightly extend an apology to Blitzwing, but I also hold firm that it's still a very flawed execution they need to take lessons from, and hopefully Sandstorm shows that they have.
Legacy Armada Megatron and laser prime.....are my shoulders a joke to you ?....I can handle that there is no 360 more than it's not in scale with astrotrain unless I use the carriage to prop up some height
Twitter sucks yes, but if you are going to make a figure objectively worse for the sake G1 accuracy then it better be G1 accurate, but it’s not. I still like the figure and it’s fun. One of my favorites tbh, but the whole G1 accuracy thing is just a lame excuse imo. His weapons do kinda suck and he shouldn’t have been a leader but otherwise he’s cool
It really is. In every way except articulation. I have the Takara Legends version personally. I don’t get the “well it’s a triple changer, of course the jet mode had to suffer” when the TR/Takara legends had a nearly perfect screen accurate representation of the jet mode
@@izzik2781 it's not just the jet. The tank mode suffers too because Hasbro decided to put that faux cockpit on there. I know it's "because the show had it" but that's because whoever drew that for the show had Blitzwing's tank mode backwards.
@@lyokomajor oh absolutely, the tank mode is by faaarrrrr the worst mode. Like if they are going to do the tank dick for G1 accuracy, sure that’s fine. Why is it the wrong colour? Why is it the wrong shape? Why are all the surrounding details and colours wrong? Why is the tank the complete wrong tank? If you’re going to sacrifice the tank for G1 accuracy, why is literally every single detail wrong?
As the lawyer to Blitzwing, we are accepting of your apology.
Why is an Autobot his lawyer?
@@dubuyajay9964 Decepticons don’t make good lawyers, admittingly.
@@iblamerichey Still, why are you defending a Decepticon?

I just read the title and said to myself “me after Legacy blitzwing gets (rightfully) dropped down to voyager price” lol

I'm a big Astrotrain fan and I will admit Blitzwing is the best triple changer. Best alt modes, best name.
I saw a lot of vitriol towards this figure online, but never could bring myself to hate it.

Well, if you didn’t pick one up before, you can still find them choking the aisle in Walmart.
I love every part of this figure, i just don't know what to do with those energon arms or whatevere they were supposed to be...
I get that it's bulky but it always was. The G1 figure had the same problem and I don't really see how you could move away enough from the design and still call it G1. The bulkiness is just baked into it. Just how it is.
him being a unit of a bot is part of the design. I still remember the crys of "who's this beanpole" back in the animated day unveilings
As one of my favorite Twitch streamers once said "Twitter sucks"
I loved this guy since the beginning

I wonder if there is a 3rd party that can replace some parts and thin out the jet mode.
