It's funny this is exactly what both drum teachers I used to have would emphasize on a lot. It's important! This is how you learn to keep tempo even when switching the frequency of your guiding hand strokes, which you need for basically every fill ever.

Yes, it's good to train both hands to lead, but I have more specific exercises for that in my books 👍
