Offcourse @@lyndenblades This is great and I find it very helpful and I get more than what I want. ❤ Learning doesn't stop and it is great that I have a tutor like you.
I have been anxiously awaiting a video like this, hoping you would do one regarding IDing the key of a song. Super helpful. You are a total GEM of a human being to give us this help and encouragement! ...And all while being a he*l of of teacher and sax-OPH-onist! Thank you! update- I just picked a random song that came up on youtube. Soul-Leo by Mulgrew Miller. I determined E for alto, therefore G Concert. Looked up the piano music and it was indeed G. Works!
hi I liked your video on identifying keys ,i I am not sure I will ever get it but I add it to my practice sessions thanks for shearing .however I would like to learn how to play ( kiss by a rose ) by seals. I cant read music , never had the . opportunity but can do letter notes. I am over sixty and very apprehensive about trying to learn music at this time but love playing alto sax I have been playing alto (Yamaha 480) for two years and would like to add that sound to my play list thanks to you I feel motivated to try to at lease reach Intermediate level .
Hello. Thx for the video. I heard a C (concert). I definitly don't know how ypu can hear a note and be able to transpose in Eb sax. The magic for me is here. Players of transposing saxophons have a super power 😅
Awesome video and great tips! This also shows you have to master your scales! If you don't, you will be stuck on the root.. ps: Lovely vibrato when you try to sing 😜!
silly question maybe, but when paying with a DJ, is the DJ making EDM as part of the gig, or are they just playing existing songs like a wedding/party dj? I assumed it was the latter, and so wondered if playing with a DJ means knowing lots of existing songs?
@@Casualsax17 you’re absolutely right but you can always put your finger in your ear if you need to hear yourself hum in a loud environment. Personally I blow a note and work it out from there 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Every one of your videos are giving just mind blowing little tips that helps me incredibly, can't thank you enough!
@@cybercey Thank you and you’re so welcome 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
This has always been a mystery to me and I think it is the link to playing with a band. Fab Lynden !!

Hi Kooky, no super powers here I can assure you. And you only have to identify the pitch regardless of the instrument you’re playing 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷

Yes you absolutely do need your scales!! And Michael Buble called me the other day to stand in for him but I was busy that night….😂😂
Omg that was great 👍
Glad you liked it Dave, thank you 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Your a star.⭐🎷🎶
Thank you so much 🤝🤝🎷🎷😎😎
Thank you for the lesson. What is the full name of that App that you use?
Hiya, it’s called SessionBand Deep House apps.apple.com/gb/app/sessionband-deep-house-1/id1105155295

never mind, just seen new video is released!
Excellent thanks 🤝🤝😎😎🎷🎷
You don’t need to know the song in order to jam over it, just the key 🔑 🎷🎷🤝🤝😎😎
Playing in a nightclub with a DJ good luck with hearing yourself sing 😂

From the root, what's the technique for identifying major or minor very quickly? Thanks
Hi John, you can’t tell from the root alone, you have to listen to if it sounds happier or sadder 🎷🎷🤝🤝😎😎
@@lyndenblades ah those well kent musical directions! Cheers
