I do E V E R Y T H I N G. It varies, I covered this song before so I know a lot of the ins and outs performance-wise - I did this in 7 days from scratch. But "Bulls In The Bronx" and "Caraphernelia" Ultra Instinct Bois both took 1 month each. "Diamonds And Why Men But Them" and "Stained Glass Eyes And Colorful Tears" was about 2 weeks each. It's a lot of work, and sometimes it's super a lot, but it's just acoustic guitars/synths/vocals overall and is much less work than electric music. Like the addition of bass, electric guitars, drums - the mixing is a whole lot more stressful, tricky and time consuming. For both acoustic and electric, I sometimes still study it, or reference my previous covers or music from other artists to see how I should mix things.
But the mic I use, the mic placement and the fact that I record in a booth makes acoustic guitars sound great right out of the box - I don't always have to eq much or at all. Besides timing and pitching of two little lead guitas, figuring out all of the guitar parts was most of the work. I didn't even use reverb expect for with the lead guitar at the beginning, the synth before the outro, and the lead guitar in the second verse "Don't dance around me" I've learned that's it's simply about what sounds good. So this track track is dry (effect-wise), buy just intricate and COVERED in parts, haha. 😂 I do everything at home in my home studio. My old room is literally nothing but a recording studio - can't even fit my bed in here anymore, haha. 😂
