Thank you for a great video, I really enjoyed it. Where did you buy your favorite bokuto?

Thanks for your comment 😊 I believe any budougu shop you can buy or google it by "kiri bokken" . If your Kendo Federation has local kendo supply, you can order it 😉

It is only empiric without basic theory. Motor unit recruitment & Henneman’s size principle gives the answers.

Thanks for your physics. Yes, you can follow motor unit recruitment & henneman’s size principle for your choice :-) This is just an example from my experience to share as one of idea.

Hi sensei! Thank you for your contents, I had trouble finding good content for English speakers and relied on Japanese videos that were poorly translated, but I was happy to stumble across your channel!
Regarding injuries, I was wondering if you had an opinion about my ankles. Long time ago in my high school days (I'm 38 now) I rolled my left ankle really bad. Today, when I fumikomi with my left foot behind it lands about 13 cm behind what I can with my right foot behind. I've never practiced Jodan/Nito nor did I ever specifically train right foot fumikomi. Do you think the old injury is a factor, or do you know of any exercises I can do to improve my fumikomi distance with my left?
To further clarify, I stopped Kendo since my college days and recenrly came back about 3 months ago.
    Thank you so much!

Although I'm not familiar with ankle injuries, this is my experience based info.
When I resumed Kendo, I struggled Fumikomi because of the pain of heels, ankles, and achilles tendons.
As a result of investigations from the empirical standpoint of views,
      (1) stiffness of joints and tendons, (2) bad Fumikomi habit, and (3) wrong suri-ashi & fumikomi movement were the main root causes.
Thus, I went back to the basics again to refresh my memory and movement. Then, gradually improved.
      Here it the outcomes.
