Egypt was able to buy Donald Trump for $10 million. But then again, Trump comes fairly cheaply.
$10M is nothing for billionaires. For them, the biggest headache is how to effective use millions to influence US politics without losing it to grifters or running afoul of our minimal (and eroding) campaign fianance laws. Probably other US billionaires are happy to step in and fill the gap. Seems like "influence" is becoming a larger part of our economy.
Quite the return on investment when you amortize 10 mil over 170 million people

Did the DOJ explicitly say they didn’t know? My understanding is that the DOJ just didn’t have enough evidence to substantiate that they did know in order to present to the grand jury and indict them. That doesn’t mean they’re not culpable though, they just can’t prove that yet maybe?
