Love isn't a standard. It comes in many colors and shapes, it can transform of flee, it can change people. There is no definition for the word "love". I believe, from personal experience, that we can love someone wholeheartedly without labeling what we have. It's not necessary to give it a name, it's more important to cultivate it and let it be part of your lives, whatever kind, doesn't really matter. For example, I had a special person and was heartbroken when we lost contact: she was the most important and beloved person after my family. I gave her all, my heart and soul, my time, my happiness and every good thing I could share with her. We got along so well, she was my soulmate. I often let her sit on my lap; I gave her small gifts and lots of care; I got mad when someone hurt her; I got elated when she smiled and laughed with me; I was there when she encountered difficulties, encouraging her; I took her to places. At that time, people started saying we were dating and she felt uncomfortable, to the point that she would avoid me. I didn't say anything, because I understood everything she was going through, even though rumors and criticism never fazed me. I can proudly say that I loved her. I loved her, but my love wasn't something that I could express through dating, or getting in a serious romantic relationship with her. This is something that everyone should learn: not to keep putting labels on feelings, emotions, choosing ways of life (LGBTQ, for example). Everyone is, before being a lover, a friend, family or enemy... A human being.
