These aren’t real tattoos. Just been drawn on. But when you do get them done professionally it’s one of the biggest meaningful gift in our culture.
Yes this is New Zealand. But originally called Aotearoa until colonisers took over and changed it.
Yes bro this is New Zealand (Maori), and even better, theyre high school kids.
Hawaii has polynesian shows that highlight different cultures, so that maybe why youve seen similar. Great reaction 👍
Hawaii has a cultural centre that has a section for each branch of Polynesian culture, including Maori. I was hoping to go at the start of the year but ticket costs to the states got super crazy
As others have said; these are school children. New Zealand laws prohibit non medical tattooing of anyone that young. It is makeup that is intended to look like tattoos.
What? Moko kanohi isnt prohibited with our young who said that? The only rule is under 18 requires permission
theres no law restricting tattooing on any age
As the others said, we’re allowed tāmoko before 18 with parental consent 🥰
Love the reaction ❤ could reaction to the Haka Documentary By Beatz By Dre if you get the chance love the react bro the haka doc will give about of history on Nz Maori culture ❤
Their ages with their voices wow!! 13-18 yr, it's a highschool Kapa Haka comp
Māori, Samoan, Tahitian, Hawaiian, all are cousins one big family.
When the Māoris go crazy in the comments cause the love it 😂😭🇳🇿🤙🏽 sfsh only nz knows 😂😂😂
Loved the vid bro I love watching Americans react to our culture it's so special
yo shot whanau , family , thank you for appreciating my culture!!
Your correct bruv, photos usually indicate a member (young person) and or elder/leader (older person) has recently passed away.
The fireshow is most likely to be Samoan that Hawaii may have showcased as part of the Polynesian connection throughout the Pacific. The New Zealand Māori culture is often showcased in Hawaii not necessarily by Māori but from native Hawaiians. Although all Polynesians throughout the Pacific are connected, the Māori of New Zealand, Hawaii, Tahiti and the Cook Islands are the closest relatives as our ancestors 1200 or so years ago navigated the Pacific inhabiting their current locations.
Kia Ora I am Māori and happy to see u react so funny and nice🤣
WATCH NGATUMANAKO WHAKAEKE 2019!!!!!!!
Nice dreads cuz
im assuming your young, sorry if you are not, but these maori kids are your age. they are still in school
We have KAPA HAKA and you Americans have Cheerleading
Raukura say it like wow rau. Ta moko tattoo is a right of passage. This is the voice of humanity, indigenous people world wide believe young man.
New Zealand #AOTEAROA all the way
The tats are mostly drawn on for the most part - these are school kids. Some will get real ones and some wont.
The tattoo's that your talking about is just paint or marker
Photos of young people are normally performers in the group that have recently passed away and photos of older people are usually former elders/leaders of the group that have recently passed away. New Zealand Māori in which this video features are distant yet close relatives to the Hawaiian people and so you might have seen some sort performance in Hawaii as Hawaiians do often showcase New Zealand Māori culture as part of that connection. On the other hand you might have seen a Samoan performance in Hawaii as the fire dance is more associated with Samoa. All Polynesians including Samoans are connected but of all the Polynesians New Zealand Māori, Hawaiian, Cook Islands and Tahiti are the closest related.
Highly recommended beats by dre haka video
chur my bro, love the reaction 🔥🤟🏽
And those aren’t tattoos they are just vivid draw on us like molo
Nah it doesn't hurt bro lol they either stencil ink or drawn on with a marker. Some will even go to the extent of smudging it on their eyes for that menacing look lol

Hi this is a national event for each hapu/iwi., (Areacode) and each school learn the basics. But those that make it to the outa school.
"Hapu" or "iwi" have the same meaning as "Areacode"? In which universe do you live?
We originated from Hawaii, 7 canoes made it to Aotearoa
The haka is ridiculous. They look foolish, it's very cringeworthy. Everytime I see the haka I can't stop laughing at how ridiculous they look. Clowns.
Ur a clown, their taiaha game was on point
@@JB-zr2bo anyone doing the haka looks foolish and ridiculous. They do it trying to intimatate but all it does is make people cringe and laugh at how foolish they look.
@@slowraceultra and don’t be calling our haka cringe when we clearly killed a lot of British back in the days and I promise you if u were to fight a Maori with a taiaha you’d end up being dead
@@_baptized.crocodile._8591 I can see by the new Zealand flag how you beat the British.
@@slowraceultra then don’t talk shit about our culture
This is a group l between a girls and boys highschool. In NEW ZEALAND. And Thank you 🤪😉
Takes years of practice
I love Aotearoa Maori culture, a proud, strong people who have survived the colonization and theft of their land by British
